Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill

Boston, USA

The hotel

This high-rise hotel has all the luxuries of an urban retreat but all the charms of its historic location. Its address also puts you just a block from Charles River Plaza, and within walking distance of Boston Common, Faneuil Marketplace, and the downtown dining, shopping and entertainment spots. Not satisfied with just being super-central, the Wyndham Beacon Hill has come up with plenty of its own distractions: on top of complimentary WiFi, it offers the artisan-meets-casual-American cooking of The Dean’s List restaurant, and a swanky seasonal swimming pool, complete with a serene sundeck giving you views of Boston and the waterfront.

Years ago this was an in town Holiday Inn and if not wrong was bought by another chain before Wyndham took it over. we stayed here about six years ago when it was being remodeled in the middle of all the noisy construction. It is peaceful now, basically a higher level HI with nice clean, comfortable rooms, excellent beds. Still has the noisy on and off heat and air conditioning in the walls. We used to stay at the Liberty for it is close to our medical needs but even with the Mass Genl discount the prices are off the wall there. This is about a block father away but half the price. Parking is a horror show and egregiously expensive but so are all the others. Two very high class and of restaurants a block way (Ma Maison and Scampo) and several others with very good food such as Antonio’s the same. Proximity to MG and MEEI can only be beaten by the Liberty. Nothing luxe, but good, solid middle of the road hotel. Read less

This is a nice hotel in a convenient location. Within walking distance of the hospital and the Freedom Trail. Beautiful neighborhood. Parking was very expensive if you have a car. The staff were all very helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay again.

1am, next room very loud. Not impressed with this hotel at all, let alone the upgraded room. The lounge/restaurant look like a cafeteria. Maybe they should charge for noise instead of smoking in these rooms?
