The hotel

This high-rise hotel has all the luxuries of an urban retreat but all the charms of its historic location. Its address also puts you just a block from Charles River Plaza, and within walking distance of Boston Common, Faneuil Marketplace, and the downtown dining, shopping and entertainment spots. Not satisfied with just being super-central, the Wyndham Beacon Hill has come up with plenty of its own distractions: on top of complimentary WiFi, it offers the artisan-meets-casual-American cooking of The Dean’s List restaurant, and a swanky seasonal swimming pool, complete with a serene sundeck giving you views of Boston and the waterfront.

First stay for 2 adults for 3 nights. We stayed 5/7-5/10/22. The location is great next to trolley stations walking distance to Beacon Hill close to restaurants not too far from airport or downtown Boston. That is about where the positive ends unfortunately.. the rooms ran an average of $300 a night for a standard room... if this wasn't in the location it was it would be worth no more than $125 a night. The rooms go toward the shabby side and need an update. The shower didn't drain and the hallway by the door was always wet with some kind of leak. The pool wasn't quite open yet for the season but it doesn't look nearly as big or nice as it is shown on line. The restaurant was good and handy to have but so pricy we only ate 1 breakfast there. There is a bakery right around the corner that is good. If you want a fridge that's $20 a night extra I think it's a bit ridiculous when you're paying $300 a night. We opted not to get fridge. The mattresses need an upgrade..not the best that's for sure. Good thing we didn't a car..parking was 60 a night. I guess upcharging is to be expected when you're in a city like Bostin I just don't feel these rooms were worth $300 a night sorry. The internet did work well. I also appreciated the whole foods and CVS pharmacy right behind the hotel. If you're looking for location this is definitely it just don't look for any other real amenities and be prepared to pay. The rooms are outdated and no mini refrigerator. But it is clean. Close to MGH which is a plus. Don’t bother getting breakfast. The Brioche French toast with maple syrup was regular bread and not real syrup. It was cold when I received it! Waitress not friendly. The dinner was great! The meals were delicious and hot and our waitress was the best!… Read more

I have stayed at many Inns and Hotels that are bundled under the Wyndham rewards program. This is by far the best. My only request is provide breakfast items for free as well as upgraded items for extra $.

The Hotel is located across the street from several great restaurants. Flour was a great Coffee Spot next door. We had easy access to the T and rode to and from the airport with our luggage. There is a Whole Foods and CVS out the back of the Hotel. The Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Our room was very comfortable.

Lovely staff but the rooms are disappointing-very old carpet looks dirty and/grubby. The shower was shocking no water pressure at all - had to rinse hair in the sink. The size of room and bathroom were sufficient. Beds were comfortable. We paid top dollar for the room but the marathon was on so understandable. At check-in we were informed the… Read more
Lovely staff but the rooms are disappointing-very old carpet looks dirty and/grubby. The shower was shocking no water pressure at all - had to rinse hair in the sink. The size of room and bathroom were sufficient. Beds were comfortable. We paid top dollar for the room but the marathon was on so understandable. At check-in we were informed the room would not be serviced throughout our stay (3 nights) but we could ring for towels and the bins emptied if needed. Also told that a clean could be requested with 24hrs notice. I can’t stand businesses still using covid as an excuse but still charging the guest full rate. Read less
