My partner and I regularly stay at the Hyatt Regency also in Long Beach but had been meaning to try the Hyatt centric for a while. We were certainly not disappointed. It is a very cute boutique, hotel with rooms designed in a nautical theme. The service was impeccable and being that It’s a smaller hotel than the Hyatt Regency, They could provide more individualized service. It was also very pet friendly and we had our dogs with us all the time and were constantly greeted by staff and brought out goodie bags for the dogs. The rooftop pool is beautiful and the courtyard downstairs is very quaint. We like the market although we wish there was more of a full service dining option however, the Hyatt Regency doesn’t have that either so not a big deal. Overall 10 out of 10! Thank you to Juan, who is very helpful in the beginning and switching our room right away when we didn’t like the particular view outside onto the roof of the air conditioning. No hustle and bustle like some hotels in the area very easy and accommodating. We will certainly be back on our next trip. Read less

The negatives : we had either scolding hot water or cold water in our room for the entire 3 night stay despite informing reception staff on 3 occasions who assured us it would be fixed. It wasn’t and had to endure cold showers for the stay. - upon checkout Hotel Manager apologised and offered us free breakfast and Hyatt Points. On our final night, the fire alarm went off at 5.30am and the whole hotel was evacuated. After spending 10 mins outside we were let back in. There was apparently smoke in a kitchen, but despite this no apology from the hotel was given for being woken abruptly. The hotel gym is small really shouldn’t be promoted as a gym as only has a couple of cardio machines and no weights. There is a Golds gym opposite but it’s $25 for a day pass.. Would definitely not stay here again. Read less

More reasonable than it's counterpart down the street. Great rooms, nice rooftop pool area, great service, perfect location, very walkable for shops, food, beach and a short drive to CSULB and/or airport. My wife and I had a little mini vacation while helping our son move into CSULB, loved it.

This weekend was very quiet and restful. the pool staff was sweet and made great drinks. he needed some help when it was Last Call, but all the guest waited patiently and made sure he received proper tips
