The hotel

The kids will be wowed by the grand castle entry from the minute you pull up at this hotel, and the Disney magic doesn't end there. With a complimentary shuttle - the 'Dream Machine' - running every 30 minutes to Disneyland Resort®, which is actually walkable too, this is the ideal base to visit the crown jewel of California theme parks, and the main man Mickey himself. The themed hotel sits across 13 acres of lush gardens, adding to the castle theme, with cute courtyards and ponds offering that sense of tranquillity - just moments from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks! You can grab a cold drink from the Garden Court Bistro and relax in the outdoor seating area, soak off in the pool, or simply sit amongst the greenery with a good book, because not every minute needs to be 'go, go, go'. Another bonus is the size of the rooms! The largest in the area - giving families ample room to relax after a busy day. With plenty of family friendly dining options, and a games room to boot - this fairytale look hotel is a timeless favourite for all ages.

I've stayed at several other hotels in the area that are somehow rated higher than this hotel, that do not even compare in value. The shuttle works great for us, but we always get there before the first bus in the morning. It makes this hotel stand above the others...and that's aside from the huge rooms and huge pool area. When you have little kids that need a break; you need an easy way back to the hotel. The sushi restaurant is great too. The beds are ok. They ARE the best I've experienced in Anaheim though. Firm, but still doable. We really liked the bedding and the pillows. Read less

Customer Service staff was very nice and friendly. The rooms are incredibly old and not well maintained. This is apparent when you look at the wired 1990s phone that bears the name of the hotel brand it was before it became the Majestic. To make matters worse the outlets in the room are so worn out that plugs do not snap into place. Bathroom is super duper small and can barely fit one person in there and the carpet had a dampness to it that means we kept our shoes on. Luckily the beds were very clean but the pillows were like little tuffs of cotton with no structure. Food options are limited and the quality is not there as most things taste of old fryer oil. Shuttle service is also limited. It runs every hour during the day and the pickup spot is around the same. The shuttles are also just old buses that have that familiar grade school gas smell. All in all it is your pretty standard roadside attraction tourist trap that has pretty photos that do not reflect the reality of the establishment. Read less

The WORST, outdated rooms around Disneyland! Most uncomfortable, old mattresses!! Front desk clerks are unprofessional and rude!! The two levels upstairs have zero A/C in hotel, rooms yes but not affective. Dirty OLD curtains. Elevators are literally the same as 1965!! Just bad all around. They use old school buses to take you as their “shuttle”. … Read more

Where do I start? I am physically shaking having to write this review in regards to this hotel right now. I checked in with my son, who's 4 years old and super excited to stay here. My husband and my 1-year-old were in the car waiting. We checked in, went up to our room, and had a very basic room. There is nothing special to it, not really anything on the walls. The table that holds the TV was decaying. There was physical evidence that you can see in pictures. I called the front staff to tell them about the screw hanging down, and they came in and told me to just not shut the door. They did not screw it all the way back in. They left it. My 1-year-old and my four-year-old go to the door to open it. And it's stuck again, so we could not open to receive the milk for my son's bottle. After trying numerous times to open it, the whole entire TV in the stand fell to the ground. Cutting my husband's knuckle scaring my one year old who was right there, where the t v fell. My husband went down to explain what happened. They shrugged their shoulders, laughed and said it's not their problem.I called had somebody come up to the room And he said they would have to investigate in the morning, turned around and left the t v and the stand on the floor with my one year old right next to it. I went back to the front desk, and I explained that this was not safe. I'm very upset. I used cuss words to which they called security on me. Security came up to the room, took pictures on his own, and said that everything was decaying, and he could see how it fell. He said the front desk staff thought the TV was broken. That was their main concern, not the table falling with the TV near my babies. I demanded they change our room. They did so into a much nicer room, nothing wrong with the current room that we were moved to.They need to get rid of those basic rooms because the furniture is not safe. Upon checking out, I spoke to the manager Chris who wrote down all my notes times and everything I showed pictures, explained security, had pictures, and management offered me another stay at the hotel with a deeply discounted manager rate. I do apologize, but I do not feel that that is enough to take care of what happened. The treatment of the staff at that hotel was unacceptable. The fact that things fell around my children and they shrugged their shoulders and laughed was unacceptable. I refuse to be charged $200 for an incidental fee for their stuff being trash. if you walk through the hotel. You can see how bad it is. Do not stay at this hotel for the safety of your children unless you plan on spending the amount that you would stay at the disneyland hotel. I highly highly highly suggest you do not stay here and I highly highly suggest you recommend your family stay at other hotels. The fact that this is a disneyland neighbor hotel is disgusting. The manager Chris very friendly. Uh, another gentleman came up and said he got a phone call in the middle of the night, not my problem.I apologize, your furniture is no good. I leave the hotel after checking out. I received a phone call and a voicemail from Chris, the manager asking for my pictures to email them to him. I will not do so they are posted here on this review. He can get in contact with his security person that was in the room and get pictures from him. This hotel needs to be shut down and fixed. You're in the middle of summer. There's no AC throughout that hotel. When you get to your room, they don't have the air conditioning on. You have to turn it on and it takes all day for it to cool your room down. If you want vending machines, they're there four dollars for a bottle of Sprite. Save yourself money, head down to target, and buy yourself a six pack of Sprite 44 dollars and fifty eight cents. Oh! I paid for a special room rate. Included free parking and breakfast for 2. We would just have to pay for our oldest son. I didn't get a picture at the desk of the prices, but it stated that I think 7 or 10 dollars. We were charged 14 dollars. SHADY!!! Don't let the pictures they show fool you. It's dated and it shows now. Read less
