The hotel

Boasting the world's most famous zip code 90210, the Beverly Hilton is the home of the Golden Globe awards every January, making it one of the premier places to see and be seen. This hotel is a favourite with the stars, a glittering landmark since the 50s that has hosted the likes of Marilyn Monroe and is also where she received her Favourite Actress Golden Globe in 1962. A walk through the corridors will give you an idea of the glamour and fame that have also passed through over the years, all of the pictures were taken in the hotel itself. Guest rooms are large and most have a terrace or city views, whilst each room is fitted out with a tablet to allow you to order room service and other guest services. The pool terrace is spacious with plenty of areas to relax after a long day of sightseeing. Theres a fire pit for cooler nights, and the pool itself is the largest in Beverly Hills. After working up an appetite you can head to CIRCA 55 for casual dining, but there’s lots of choice nearby too.

I had a terrible experience during my stay at The Beverly Hilton. Upon my arrival, I discovered that the light inside my room by my balcony did not work, the bathroom sink drained extremely slow, leaving dirt and residue behind, the bathroom wasn’t cleaned properly as evidenced by old dried urine on the toilet, and the soap dispenser in the shower didn’t have body wash in it. All of these things were discovered after I settled into my room. I called the front desk and requested to speak with the front desk manager and instead of her returning my call, she had the front desk team tell me that maintenance would come and look at the mechanical issues. She then had the housekeeping manager call me back. I had to call the front desk four times before I was able to speak with the front desk manager, Martha, who was very rude and talked over me during our conversation. She had terrible customer service skills, stating that she received my concerns and routed them accordingly. She didn’t even bother to apologize for the inconvenience I was experiencing. Insteaad, she cut me off and spoke over me, and when I asked her if she could rectify the issues that were going on, she told me she would give me a $75 room credit OR switch my hotel room. (Please keep in mind that I had been well settled into my room and was there for a huge event that was being held and hosted in the International Ballroom) I honestly couldn’t believe that she was offering $75 credit on a $1000 room stay or for me to switch rooms. I felt like she was discriminating on me because of my ethnicity and didn’t want to provide me with the same accommodations that she provides customers of other races. Overall, she left a terrible taste in my mouth of The Beverly Hilton, which I am so disappointed about because I was so excited to stay in such an iconic hotel. I honestly don’t plan to return and will spend my hard earn money elsewhere. Martha, The Beverly Hilton front desk manager, needs training on customer service skills and diversity training. As an African American woman, I felt discriminated on and it deeply impacted my stay at the hotel. For her to be aware of the unsanitary conditions in the hotel room and not take accountability nor apologize was disheartening. By the way, the ceiling light was never fixed in the room. Read less

Beautiful hotel and in a great location. From the moment we arrived my partner and I were treated with such professionalism. The check in staff were lovely and social. They acknowledged it was my partners birthday which was on their file. The lovely staff organised for a bottle of wine to be delivered to our room which was an awesome surprise. We stayed in a king bed room with a balcony that faced over the pool and downtown in the background. The room was lovely and the balcony was quite large and spacious. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking at the scenery. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in and the room was nice and quiet for a good nights sleep. We found the hotel was in a great location. Only a short walk to rodeo drive. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to LA. Read less

" oh I don't know, not sure and then look back down at his terminal instead of saying one minute I'll ask and see. Here's what it is, they have young staff who really seem to have an inability to talk to older people, seriously they truly lack interpersonal skills, phones near by, checking them in the old days they you had a staff that had been there for years, where's their training for a luxury hotel? Had a nice room, it was clean but not the hotel I use to know, hope to stay again hope they fix it, hope they care Read less

We had the worst experience ever during our stay at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. My partner and I have stayed there about 4-5 times in the past. The first time we stayed there, we encountered a small dog’s excrement on the balcony of our room. As small dog owners, we understand that sometimes accidents happen, but the problem was that it wasn’t in a common area but in the room, and the housekeeping team missed it. We let it go and didn’t think too much of it. However, this last stay really left us sour. We checked in one night as we were doing a birthday road trip for my partner. After a day of surfing in Malibu, we were ready for a nice shower and dinner; never in our lives did we think we’d experience what we experienced. The room was infested with fleas. At first, we thought it may have been bites from the beach, but when we started seeing not one or two but tens of black dots jumping on us, we knew they weren’t from the beach. The room was a cabana room which faces the pool, and the infestation was between the room’s desk and the sliding door facing the pool. I called the front desk and asked if the previous guests had a pet in the room and that the room had fleas. We thought we would get a manager involved right away and provide multiple solutions to the issue, but no. They decided to send over a bellman to help us transition to another room. The first room they sent us to had a weird smell, and we didn’t have the view nor pool chairs as in our previous room. We told them that we needed to speak with a manager to let them know that we weren’t happy with this room. After waiting over 15 minutes, a “manager” called, and the same bellman was sent over again to show us a different room. The bellman was the only staff member who cared. At this point, I was infuriated by the lack of care from management. Not even a manager showed their face to make sure that we were okay. We lost a reservation that we made months ago due to this inconvenience; we didn’t even get a card with an apology amenity - absolutely nothing. As a former hospitality professional myself and a Hilton Diamond member, I understand how important it is for hotels to provide excellent customer service and ensure their guests’ comfort during their stay. Clearly, the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel failed to meet these expectations. Read less

The bed was very comfortable, TV was large, lighting in bedroom was great, and the balcony was large, easy to access, with comfortable furniture. The buffet breakfast was very tasty and plentiful with choices and replenishing. This appeared to be a very well managed hotel. We stayed 5 nights, and I could have stayed more! Read less
