The hotel

With an A-list address in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills, the Palomar’s a microcosm of all that’s great in LA: the laid-back poolside living; the celeb-worthy design details; the new trend of sustainable cooking. Here you don’t just visit LA, you live it. Its sense of style infuses every space, but nowhere more so than at the pool, where an al fresco lounge features comfy cushioned seating and a fireplace. Double Take serves up unfussy, market-inspired snacks, salads and entrées that shine with Southern California ingredients. Bookending each day, the complimentary morning refreshments and evening wine hour remind you this is the land of indulgence; while the free 24-hour gym’s wall of windows looks out onto Wilshire Boulevard, so you don’t miss any sightseeing.

Check in- Emily and Cornelia were amazing! Always checking in on me to make sure I had everything for my stay. I even got a beautiful plant and my beloved coffee maker delivered to my room. Also helped with things to do in the area. I had to ship back the “swag” I got from the conference I attended and Cornelia found me a box and let me borrow packing tape to take care of shipping it back. Breakfast- My favorite meal especially at a hotel!!!! It was a bit expensive but well worth it. Alejandro at breakfast was super friendly, lots of attention to details, courteous and always with a big smile! Overall a great stay and will definitely recommend this hotel and come back again! I was excited when I booked the Palomar. There is one in Phila and it is delightful. But this hotel is not even a step sister. We were here for 6 nights and the first three days, we had to go to the front desk to have the room keys recoded - not fun when you are on the 19th floor. My biggest issue is with House Keeping. It is hopeless. I had to ask to have the little four pack of cotton balls replenished, never got a new tiny bottle of body lotion and never had the table in the room dusted off, The furniture is chipped and looks like it is gathering of old Aunt Mary's dressers. We had two safes but one did not work. Palomar is not an inexpensive booking and I feel I wasted my money. Never returning. Read less

We were not able to stay. Our son contracted Covid and was in quarantine. We did purchase a non refundable room. However, the general manager refused our request for a refund. Heartless organization. We were and have been frequent guests at Kimptons. After this experience - never again.

Stayed last few days of July into early August. We had a one bedroom suite, facing Wilshire on the 19th floor. It was spotless, seems to have been refreshed recently, plenty of space and a great sized bathroom. Two weeks prior I had stayed and had a king room on the 9th floor that I also reviewed and was not really thrilled. This later stay… Read more

Lovely clean hotel with friendly capable staff. That pesky resort fee struck again but this time it included a happy hour of wine, a reduction in car parking fee and a nice hire of beach towels and games. I guess it’s probably more of a business hotel but great for a family vacation as well
