The hotel

Daring to be different, this is fast becoming recognised as one of the hippest hotels in Hollywood. As chic and playful as the city that surrounds it, Dream Hollywood is dressed for the red carpet – from the fresh dove-whites of its lobby and gadget-stuffed guest rooms, to the sheer opulence of its dining venues. Led by the formidable TAO Group, the restaurants take you from the Far East at dramatic TAO Asian Bistro, to the sun of Sicily at Luchini Pizzeria & Bar, and to old Hollywood glamour at Beauty & Essex, with its multi-ethnic menu. But winning the Oscar for best-dressed set is The Highlight Room, an off-the-charts rooftop venue that brings together a spectacular cast: a contemporary Californian menu, handcrafted cocktails, a swanky rooftop pool with perfectly padded loungers and private cabanas, and views out to the Hollywood sign.

This is basically for single party goers. Not family friendly hotel. PARTIES EVERYNIGHT with music blasting from the rooftop, we could hear it all the way down on our 4th floor room! There’s pool parties everyday and night, so you can’t relax on their rooftop pool. The one day we went on a Monday, to our dismay the pool goes only 3ft deep entirely and is probably only 15ft long or so. They don’t even have a blender to make frozen drinks on a hot Cali day !! If you like hotels that spend more $$ on ambiance than actual needs of guests, please enjoy this place !! 🤢 •no microwave in room •no vending machines •no fridge in room (the one they provide is filled with alcohol, so to fit anything else, you have to take it all out) •no private bathroom/shower it’s all glass ?! •no parking, valet is 60$ per day •the room was mediocre at best. 3 star hotel in my opinion Read less

Quiet and comfortable hotel in a good area. Reception staff very welcoming but cannot say the same about the unpleasant pool staff and manager. Major flaws there. The hotel has 10 floors and I’m not exaggerating when I say they have about 10 to 12 sunbeds by the pool available for ALL the hotel guests on first come first serve basis, the remaining ones are paying cabanas which take almost 50% of all pool area. So if you want a spot by the pool you better run fast, or pay some serious extra bucks. I came in with my 9 year old kid and the unpleasant pool receptionist brushed me off real quick told me there were no sunbeds available (when 80% of the cabanas were empty) and more importantly no shade for my kid on a really hot summer day, but that I could use the normal restaurant chairs (?). When I complained, not before, they eventually allowed me to use one of the empty cabana shades but made it out later as a big one-off favor and not as the right thing to do. Just Another portrait of a very Dehumanized america - a kid in scorching August heat on a hotel with lots of available (paying) cabana shades and you have to complain to get a shade, or pay some serious cash for one of the cabanas. Pro Tip for you Hoteliers - if you only have “1 sun bed per floor” on your hotel and clear space limitations, be more human and solution driven as using the “first come first come” rule is not sufficient. Use those cabana shades humanly and wisely and here’s a new more human policy for you, “kids come first”. Also You will have an issue ordering at the pool if like me you are a foreigner with just a passport for an ID. I left it in my room safe for obvious reasons and showed pictures of it on my phone along with the room key and folio with my room number, but it still wasn’t enough as the pool girl insisted she always needed “physical ID she would have to keep”. Pro tip #2 it is illegal to keep a foreigners passport so I did not comply - pictures of ID + room key and number should be more than enough to order just one avocado toast. I tried to explain this to the pool manager to no avail as she refused to listen. Read less

Noisy room. I asked for a room with no noise so they put me in a room above the nightclubs and beauty and Essex! If your purpose is to party then this is a perfect hotel, if you want peace and quite then this is not a hotel for you. Personally I wouldn’t be staying here again Staff were helpful overall
