The hotel

Daring to be different, this is fast becoming recognised as one of the hippest hotels in Hollywood. As chic and playful as the city that surrounds it, Dream Hollywood is dressed for the red carpet – from the fresh dove-whites of its lobby and gadget-stuffed guest rooms, to the sheer opulence of its dining venues. Led by the formidable TAO Group, the restaurants take you from the Far East at dramatic TAO Asian Bistro, to the sun of Sicily at Luchini Pizzeria & Bar, and to old Hollywood glamour at Beauty & Essex, with its multi-ethnic menu. But winning the Oscar for best-dressed set is The Highlight Room, an off-the-charts rooftop venue that brings together a spectacular cast: a contemporary Californian menu, handcrafted cocktails, a swanky rooftop pool with perfectly padded loungers and private cabanas, and views out to the Hollywood sign.

Hotel was fantastic. Breakfast at Highlands was excellent. Try the Huevos Rancheros......best EVER! Nice views....and having both Tao and Beauty and Essex just around from the lobby was great. Highly recommend both and Highlands on the rooftop.

Very clean, comfortable, high quality hotel with excellent customer service. If possible, try to request a room facing west, as it won't be facing the street. I did so and it was worth it. Will be returning in the future. Huge shout out to Shelly at the front desk for being so friendly and knowledgeable!

The roof top pool and bar was an incredible experience with a fantastic view to match. Was a great stay overall with accomodating staff and nice rooms! We went over thanksgiving so it was also very quiet but a relaxing stay.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Dream hotel. The location of the property was ideal for both site seeing and nightlife. Access to the rooftop events and pool amazing and the room was so cozy and upscale. I enjoyed the integrated technology of TV and iPad.

I stayed at Dream Hollywood for three nights and parked my vehicle using the hotel's valet service. When I checked in, I received a text message providing me with my valet ticket number and a separate phone number that I was to use when requesting my vehicle. I only requested my vehicle a handful of times during my stay, and when I did, I had plans to be somewhere at a specific time. (I recently lived in LA, so I know how to time things with traffic and all.) On Saturday and Sunday nights, I text messaged the phone number I was provided at check-in and requested my vehicle. I waited about 30 minutes before I went to the lobby and waited for another 30 minutes. At that point, I asked the valet attendant if there was an issue with my request. Both times, the attendant told me that the valet desk had not received my request because the text message actually went to the FRONT DESK! No one from the Front Desk had transmitted the request. There were other guests who were waiting, who had experienced the same issue. If the valet service were free and I didn't need to be somewhere, no problem. If this issue only happened once, no problem. However, Dream Hollywood charges $60 + tax per night to valet at the hotel and this happened to me more than once. This is absolutely unacceptable and something that would have changed my decision to patronize your establishment. Other than the valet issue, my stay was nearly perfect until my departure. As you know, the hotel has a checkout time of 12:00 pm. At 12:03 pm, I was struggling to seal my luggage and wheel it out the door when the doorbell to my room was rung and "housekeeping!" was announced. I was in the area between the bathroom and the door and responded in a loud voice "one minute! I'm on my way out! I'm struggling with my bags!" One minute had not passed when I heard the bell again, this time with a forceful knock and announcement. I began to sweat profusely in my attempt to clear the room ASAP! Before I could get out of the door, and before the clock hit 12:06 pm, I got a forceful knock. I have patronized all sorts of hotels and resorts internationally and have NEVER been kicked out of a hotel room like this. When I finally struggled out the door, there was no housekeeper, no housekeeping carts, nothing! I was stunned that the housekeeper didn't have another room on the entire floor to attend to. It was a horrifying experience and Read less
