Hilton Los Angeles Universal City

Virgin rating

The hotel

A Hollywood hangout with noteworthy neighbours, this LA bolthole’s just a block from the theme park heaven of Universal Studios, and just a subway trip from the star-studded sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard. That hasn’t stopped Hilton Los Angeles Universal City coming up with a few extra treats of its own though – our favourite being FIVE on the Hill, where you can enjoy signature dishes and freshly-curated cocktails with Hollywood Hills in the background. Most make a beeline straight for Universal Studios – and, despite it being just around the corner, there’s a complimentary shuttle to save you walking (great for hot days!). And, while you’re there, you can also take in a movie, grab cocktails or craft beers, hit big-name shops, and dine at celeb-chef eateries in the neon lustre of Universal CityWalk.

Every time we go to Universal Studios we stay at the Hilton Los Angeles /Universal City and each time I am impressed by the cleanliness. The rooms are beautiful and the bathrooms are updated with plenty of space. The hotel staff are very kind and helpful. The large pool had towels every time we were at it even at 10pm.

Stayed at this hotel with husband and two teenagers for 1 night during the holidays. As a Diamond member I inquired about an upgrade and was denied. Received Food and Beverage Credit. This was considered a staycation as we are southern California locals. The setting: Basic Hilton amenities and property. We selected this property due to our Hilton loyalty and proximity to Universal Studios. Walking distance to the park, small hill to walk up and some stairs. The service: Basic services. Expect at the lobby bar and restaurant, the service was fantastic. The room: This is an older property with out any recent updates. The room was clean and on the larger side, but wear and tear was evident. Large wall windows with very nice views of the park and residential hills. The food: Limited eating options. The lobby bar and restaurant is very good, large menu with excellent services. Coffee stand was closed at the time of visit. The extras: self parking $45, make sure to let the front desk know in order to get charge the hotel rate instead of the parking building rate which is more. Extra fees charge due to tourism. Recommendation: I would not be returning. The value is not there. Rates of $300+ do not justify the outdated property and limited amenities. Read less

The Cafe Sierra brunch has a wide variety of seafood, carving station options, and desserts. Great atmosphere and live music as well! Our server Rosendo was very welcoming, attentive, and on top of everything! We had top notch service! Only down side is parking is extremely limited and can take quite a bit of time.

Christina on the front desk was very helpful! Christina was able to assist me in every way! The hotel is really nice and clean! Rooms are very nice as well. Beautiful views! I had free breakfast and they had a buffet for only $10 upgrade. I definitely would come again!
