The hotel

Overlooking Santa Monica Beach, Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows is conveniently located just nine miles from the Los Angeles International Airport and just minutes from The Getty Center, Beverly Hills, West Los Angeles, Century City, Malibu and Venice Beach. Indeed, all guest rooms have been designed to have the lowest impact on the environment. Rooms are either in the Ocean Tower with spectacular views of the Pacific or in the historical Palisades wing. Nestled among tropical flowers, palm trees and tranquil waterfalls are 32 secluded garden bungalows with exquisite furnishings and French doors that open onto private patios. Fitness enthusiasts will love the outdoor splash pool, whirlpool and health club. Massage is also available for those in need of pampering or simply pull up a sun lounger and soak up the sun. For fabulous dining, look no further than the new FIG Restaurant with Chef Jason Prendergast seasonal Bistro food. The Lobby Lounge is another great place to eat and chill out. Set against the soothing Koi fishpond and waterfall featuring open-air outdoor seating, the Lobby Lounge offers breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails making it a great place to socialise with friends and family. Combining the charm and romanticism of a seaside cottage, with the comfort and casual style of a Baja inspired casita, The Bungalow is Santa Monica’s most distinct lounge. The Bungalow is the perfect location to enjoy an intimate evening where you can relax in an atmosphere featuring sweeping outdoor decks leading to dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean and enjoy a refreshing cocktail or small bite from the exclusive bar menu from the FIG Restaurant. Many of Southern California's attractions are just a stone's throw from the hotel, including Santa Monica Pier and its historic carousel as well as Third Street Promenade - famous for its fine restaurants, live entertainment, movie theatres, shopping, local artists' scene and a weekly farmer’s market.

We love this hotel. Food and location are great but what makes it special are the staff. They are exceptional. Outstanding service and customer focused. All the staff are great but those called Chris are on another level (you'll find them in the FIG and in the Bar 😁).

The iconic Bungalow was a taste of mid-century elegance. Soundproof room with outstanding amenities and dining options. Outstanding service, historic location and truly an affordable luxurious experience. A great place to "unplug", relax and enjoy the hotel features including fitness area, swimming, jacuzzi, firepits overlooking the ocean.

The hotel is deeply neglected. Libby worn and dirty. Only one elevator working. No service elevator. Long waits. Often filled with workers filling it up and taking priority over guests. Coffee maker and shower—Non working. With price tag over $700 per night the manager took $100 off of our bill which only added to my complete outrage. Stay at… Read more
