The hotel

With this hotel offering two-room suites all round, it's tempting to stay in and relax for longer, but the complimentary hot breakfast buffet and made-to-order omelette station will help get you out and set up for the day! At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Monterey Bay Seaside, you are a couple of blocks from the beach and just two miles north of Downtown Monterey, with lots of attractions and activities along the Bay too, such as the Monterey Bay Aquarium or Steinbeck Museum. Alternatively, head out in the car for 20 minutes or so for a bit of hiking, winery action or spa treats. The hotel’s 2-hour evening reception with complimentary cocktails and snacks is a great way to kick-off your evening. The Silver Tide Bar & Grill is in the atrium too, so why not drop in afterwards for some local California cuisine?

This is a review of the Embassy Suites Seaside-Monterey Pros - Recent updates Cons - One elevator out of service the entire stay, resulting in LONG waits getting to and from room. AC was so LOUD that I had to keep it off the entire stay. Check your bill when you check out. Everyone in our group was “automatically” charged $15/day for parking even though we didn’t drive or have a vehicle. Hot water took 10 minutes to get hot when showering. Lots of WASTED water by hotel just trying to get hot water in rooms. Hotel tv contractors came into room and moved personal belongings around despite do not disturb sign being displayed on door knob. Unless you upgrade, your view will likely be of the Starbucks or Dispensary across the street. Read less

This is a great place to stay with family including kids, basic rooms have what you need with a bedroom where you can request a crib for the baby, once baby is sleeping you can have fun in the other room with the door shut. Great location to fun places in Monterey! If you get a higher room your kids will love the view even if its just looking at the cars. Kids also love the elevators with the glass view. Restaurant and breakfast works great for families. Nice bar where they can make you a drink that is not on the menu. Problem with the room? Call front desk and someone arrives in quick order. Pool is nice that the kids can enjoy. Stay here if fun for the kids and wife is what you need. Good luck Read less

I was at the Embassy Suites in Seaside for a 4 day scrapbooking event. We were in the large ballroom. The meals were really good- it’s not easy to provide tasty food for such a large group and accommodate all special meal needs so extra kudos to the cooks and kitchen staff we never saw. I didn’t stay at the hotel but the people who did commented that the hotel rooms were very nice. Read less

AC DOES NOT WORK. STAY AT HOTEL ABREGO INSTEAD. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review. My family of six (four kids ages 10, 8, 5 and 1) booked two nights in a suite in this hotel to visit the aquarium. If you don’t have time to keep reading, I was so mistreated that my husband and I sat in the lobby with our 4 kids to warn potential customers, while booking at a hotel with great customer service. First night, our AC never got below 75 degrees. We notified front desk at 9:00am and they said they sent an engineer up and fixed the problem. We then spent the day at the aquarium and returned at 5:00pm to the temperature at 72 degrees. Within 30 minutes of us returning, the temp went up to 74 while the AC was set to 66. We asked to move rooms and they moved us next door. The ac was set to 75 degrees and went up to 76 within the thirty minutes of us moving rooms. We then decided to leave as it was 7:00 and our toddler was ready for bed. The hotel said since we did not check out at 11am they could not refund or offer a discount. Even though they acknowledged we brought the issue to them at 9:00am. My husband and myself had a terrible customer service experience with Elihu Banuelos, the manager, as well as front desk staff Jessica. Elihu offered to move us to a third room, and I said that would be acceptable if he could guarantee that the temperature would stay below 72 degrees and the AC would work, and if not I could have my money for the second night back. He said he couldn’t guarantee that. Hotel blatantly said that AC is not a known issue, but 4 out of 9 people that I spoke to in the lobby said that their AC was not working in their room. Read less
