Great location and well appointed rooms. Hardwood floors and carpet in rooms with comfortable bedding. Amazing breakfast buffet & guest services. Dog friendly hotel. Walking distance to Fishermans Wharf and great restaurants and breweries.

We came for the World's Toughest Row Event in Monterrey and stayed 3 days. The room was clean, correctly stocked and ready at 7 pm. The shower did leak as the washer in the shut off valve was worn down. We did not want to bother with the repair as it was never attended to do even by the staff who visited daily. The room set point had to be set at 60 F as the ventilation was a single register pointing to a wall at the far side of the room and was inadequate in design or performance. There was police activity on Friday night at 3 am with loud banging within the hotel. Doors at 5 am banging since there are no door retarders. The valet service was expensive (they park around the corner and down the road which we failed to recognize as we were tired for $3). The attendants scraped the vehicle and threw trash in the back of the car. I don't recommend the service. The restaurant staff were courteous and the head of the house on the Saturday night was very helpful when we were exhausted from the day at the dock by getting our food ready and calling us, unlike other Marriott residences e.g. Marriott in Baltimore Inner Harbor, when it was available for pickup. Overall, I would not stay here again. There are other properties in the vicinity that I would explore. Read less

This hotel is overpriced and a disappointment. We were on a two night trip to visit the Jade Festival in Monterey. We chose this hotel because it was downtown and close to the festival. We also wanted to be near the wharf but also near downtown restaurants. What we paid for the strangely configured hotel room was more than twice what it should’ve been. (And I paid for this “upgrade”🤦‍♀️) The bathroom was a small tiny room with a pocket door with a toilet and tiny shower. No place to place your clothes except the toilet seat. No exhaust fan either. They put the sink outside the bathroom in the carpeted area. (Yuck) . The mirror over the sink was lighted with the most useless light imaginable. Beds were mattresses placed on platforms with threadbare and hole ridden sheets. The windows were dirty and filled with condensation Air conditioning was not very useful- the room stayed muggy and hot even at the lowest setting. Unable to retrieve any voice messages and operators had no clue. I had to go to the front desk to get my messages. Red light blinking on my phone all night, FUN Lobby was unremarkable and the convenience store was a vending machine. I gave this 3 stars instead of 2 because of the staff. Front desk was very friendly. Concierge was very helpful and gave us a terrific dinner coupon. Valets were delightfully fun (even if parking was $49 per night) Marriott used to be so reliable but no longer a choice for my family. We could have stayed at a Luxury hotel on Cannery Row FOR YHE EXACT SAME PRICE. We will do that next time. Read less

Stayed 1 night at the Monterey Marriott over Memorial Day weekend with my partner and his daughter for an Aquarium visit. The location was ideal! A quick walk to Fisherman's Wharf and a longer, but beautiful, walk to Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Booked 2 rooms and they put us in rooms that were right across the hall from each other without my even asking. Rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. We took advantage of the heated pool and hot tub which was a nice perk in the evening. The Bonvoy breakfast benefit was a wonderful breakfast buffet with an omelet station, fresh local donuts and other tasty items. Highly recommend! Read less
