The hotel

You know you’ve reached wine country when you arrive at Meritage Resort & Spa. On the threshold of Napa Valley, its design may be Tuscan-inspired, but its soul is pure Napa, with views of a grapevine-covered slope as you swim, hiking (or strolling) trails through nine acres of vineyards, an underground tasting room, and wine served at every turn. But it’s also a place that recognises exceptional wine should be paired with life’s other luxuries: separate adult and family pools, al fresco fireplaces and whirlpools, lazy Sunday brunches, and wining and dining venues like award-winning Siena, the Crush bowling lounge, a café-come-gelateria, and a luxury wine bar. But it’s the Estate Cave that promises the most indulgence; 40 ft underground, it hosts a wine tasting room and Spa Terra’s steam grottos and soaking pools.

Where is it

At the southern tip of Napa Valley, this spa resort is at the gateway of the wine-growing region, giving you easier access to Sonoma and cities like San Francisco. It’s close to two 18-hole golf courses, and there is a daily shuttle to Downtown Napa, with its restaurants, wine tasting rooms, and entertainment. Transfer time to San Francisco Airport: 1 hour 25 minutes.

The customer service was brilliant. I came out with my family and it was fun. We had a good time. There was an ice skating rink that we could use that was a good experience. There was also fire pits with s'mores that tasted good. It was a good time all around.

Amazing food and service. Eunice was very attentive, made great suggestions, Leslie the restaurant manager came to visit. Was very service minded and friendly. Extravagant experience definitely recommend this to All!! Thank you Meriage/Grand Reserve for a service friendly stay

I had an amazing facial with Corrin She made me feel comfortable. Would defiantly schedule again with her. My only dislike was with the facility itself. The hot tubs water was not hot I called front deck to notify them, someone came and checked temperature and they said they would adjust it. The hot tubs water was not hot I called front deck to notify them, someone came and checked temperature and they said they would adjust it. After my facial my friend and I attempted the Hot tub again and the temperature was the same which was disappointing So we cut time there short since the sauna was the only thing available. And their main pool outside is being remodeled. Read less

Francisco was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our time ice skating and we reserved an igloo. The experience was amazing. Francisco and Dawa went above and beyond. Dawa was a breath of fresh air and so attentive to all the guests. Francisco also was exceptionally hospitable.

The meritage is under construction I would not of stayed there if I knew in advance. The grand reserve has ice skating which is alot of fun, but the best part of my trip was the shuttle to downtown Napa with the professional driver Barbara who is highly entertaining, informative and super friendly. Five stars goes to her!
