Ben has helped to make our trip memorable and making us want to return soon! We stayed in a studio which was perfect for a family. The beach and pool were great. The whole place is set up for families with a playground and water pond. Thanks for a lovely time!

Ben at the check in was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly welcoming and set such a lovely tone for our first family vacation since COVID. He made the check in process super easy. The resort is lovely and clean. I highly recommended Bahia resort for young families!

In my opinion one of the best measures of a hotel is how the staff handle complaints when they unfortunately arise. In my opinion one of the best measures of a hotel is how the staff handle complaints when they unfortunately arise. We are not complainers generally - this is probably the 20th hotel I’ve stayed in this year and I think it’s the first time I’ve had to complain. It seems we just got unlucky as we had a bad damp smell in our suite. The view was also poorly described “garden suite” = “road 2m from your door suite)” (Noting: apparently this is due to booking.com and is not described by the hotel as such and therefore out of their control). The main point is that when I rang front desk they were gracious, quick to resolve this issue by finding us an alternative room which met our ground floor requirement that could fit 4 of us. Big thank you to Vanessa on front desk who fixed the problem by giving us a room that smelt wonderfully clean. She also cared enough to ask us to call and confirm the new room was ok when we got there - which we did to let her know that it was better than ok, as she had also given us a lovely view too. I hadn’t mentioned this when complaining but it’s my birthday trip and she really helped make sure we have a great visit. Great staff are invaluable. Deborah who greeted us at the front gate was also so warm and welcoming and gave us key rings for being international visitors, a great first impression. I can also recommend the new restaurant was really good. Kids pizzas very reasonably priced and decent portion sizes. Our server was also Read less

After reading many poor reviews about this place, I almost didn't book it. After staying for 3 nights with my family, I'm shocked now that there's so many bad reviews. It was an amazing visit. Customer service was top notch. Ben at check in was so welcoming and friendly. I have not one bad thing to say about this place. We came on a holiday weekend and it was sold out, so I thought this place would be packed and we wouldn't get to enjoy the amenities freely. But in fact... 1. The Game Lounge had shuffle board, Foosball, Pool, board games, big tvs to watch movies, and cool lemonade and water. There was never much of a wait at all if any, to play anything. 2. The cabanas were limited to maybe 30? But somehow we managed to get 2 on a Sunday afternoon in great weather. 3. There was plenty of seating in the lovely beach chairs bayfront all day. You can drink alcohol right on the private beach, and in fact there was bar service on the beach in the cabanas!! This was awesome. I guess you can order from your phone! It was not packed or too loud and it was picture perfect. 4. The food in the restaurant was delicious and not overly pricey for right now. Food ranged from $10- to $45 for pricier seafood. Most of it was $22 ish. I had great fish tacos, chips and salsa, flatbread... all great! The ambiance was lovely and we somehow got a firepit table every time we ate. The food, coffees at the airstream grab and go was great too. The breakfast burrito is served all day and was huge. Try the salsa!! 5. The gift shop had essentials that came in handy. 6. Our room was in the tower and it was spacious, and slept 6. It included 2 queens and a pull out sofa bed. I read the reviews that said these sofa beds were awful and you could feel the bars underneath. 2 young adults slept on ours and the next night the fought over sleeping on it again vs the regular bed. They don't weigh more than 160 each though but they had no issues at all. AC worked great. Closet was a tad too close to bed though for larger people to get into. Iron/ing board worked great. Balcony room in the tower turned out better than expected even though I wanted floor level, now I'm glad I didn't get one cause the view was nicer. Our room was not musty, smelly, old looking like reviews. I would never have described any part of this resort as old. I would highly recommend booking a room in the bungalows though, that face the bay or marina or garden view. Single story with lanais. Water views are not very private though as people basically walk by all day to go to beach and cabanas and everyone is playing and kids laughing, some music. If you want a more peaceful private lanai opt for the garden view, it's lush and lovely like your in Hawaii. Our kitchenette was awesome. In fact we ordered Instacart, brought the blender and made sandwiches and had snacks, ordered ice buy 3- 3lb packs its the perfect size for freezer and we made pitchers of Pina Coladas all weekend, and put them in cups to go down to beach etc. They have dishes, silverware, sponge, cups, wine glasses, plenty of room for food like a mini pantry. Fridge and freezer, microwave, there's an ice machine but it's not in the building, so ice was good to buy. 7. Parking was Free which was a rarity here in SD. 1 car per room. We had 2 and so my son had to park at the public beach parking next door. It was also easy to access and free the entire time and he left overnight. That would save you $40 a night for your trip alone. 8. The seals are very cute thing to see and look happy. 9. The pool was huge and so was the spa. I rarely ever want to go in to a tiny spa with strangers packed into it. But it's so big it's like a pool and I finally got to enjoy a Jacuzzi! There was always a free chair even on a sunny memorial weekend! Shocking! Not packed like big resorts. 10. The fitness room was decent and right in with the pool. 11. They have beach games to check out. We had fun playing spikeball, and we reserved the pickleball court and played 1 hour beyond cause no one else came. Wish pickleball was painted just for pickleball not over tennis though, until then I wouldn't recommend for serious Pickleballers as it's not great. The other Tennis court is fine for tennis players. Lights stay on til 9pm too. You can check out rackets and paddles and balls as well for free, along with a variety of outdoor games, toys. 12. Giant Shuffleboard courts were awesome!!! Highly recommend you try if you haven't.. no one was playing and we checked out both sets. Super fun to play teams. 13.Pool bar and grill was handy to have that access. 14. They said we could have guests come over and enjoy the amenities with us as well during our stay which was awesome and we loved that privilege. Only thing missing.... I would ask for would be a few fire pits, that could be checked out and rented by the resort instead of a company that charges $200 for 90 mins of fire and some chairs. That would've made it perfect. Don't hesitate... unless you're very upscale and want Ritz Carlton luxury, it isn't like that and isn't trying to be. It's comfortable, peaceful and relaxing. Read less

Thank you Bahia for hosting my family ! A special thank you for Karina at the front desk for making my stay extra special with a upgrade to a suite on the water. The room was top tier and my kids loved it. I’m currently visiting with colleagues and my family so I will be back next year
