PROS: perfect location between bay and ocean CONS: very outdated, everything is old and worn out, termite damage, torn screen door, uncomfortable beds, thin walls so you can hear people talking in the hallways.

Amazing resort. Awesome place to relax with the family. You definitely have to check out the luau on Friday night. One word of caution…if you’re the last table called for the buffet line, you better scramble back up there if you want seconds. With the earlier tables coming back for that delicious food, it can feel like “The Hunger Games.” Erik… Read more

We beached, pooled, paddle boarded, bicycled, bonfired/with smores ,watched an outdoor movie and so much more. A gentleman stopped me one day as I was walking and said "Isn't this paradise?" And, it IS. The foliage is beautiful. The service is outstanding. The rooms, particularly the newly renovated Garden Deluxe ,are just lovely. The Oceana restaurant food was delicious! We have no complaints . Only compliments. And the major one for our family goes to Kyle Dennis in reservations who worked with us when the balconies on the rooms we had booked weren't available during our stay because of maintenance. Kyle was simply wonderful. He did everything possible to get us situated in other rooms that were perfect for us. (We had 3 rooms). He was so kind, caring and extremely professional all the way through from our first contact to our last. This vacation wouldn't have been as wonderful as it was if Kyle hadn't been there to help us in so many ways all along the way. As I titled this review- This vacation at the Catamaran COULDN'T HAVE BEEN BETTER!!! Read less

Unfortunately, there are many reasons you should not book this property until ALL rooms are fully renovated, and additional issues have been addressed. We were hesitant after reading other negative reviews, but we made the unfortunate mistake of going ahead and booking since the location seemed ideal. We are filled with regret after our first day here and I would like to enlighten others... Check In: needs major improvement. We were not greeted first, I had to approach the desk and say hello first. Not a good first impression, completely missing the mark for guest services, and we did not feel welcomed. We were advised that due to construction and the inability to use balconies, we were given a meager $50 credit. Seems like a very weak gesture to me. The room: absolutely horrific! The wallpaper is peeling off the wall right above the beds/our heads. The carpet is filthy and smells. The bathrooms are old and dirty, many years of buildup, with fixtures and taps literally falling apart. The kitchens are extremely old to the point I refuse to stock or prepare food in (and we regularly camp or go cottaging). The rooms are very outdated which we did hear, however they are in terrible condition and should NOT be booked out at all to guests. I have zero tolerance or patience for corporate greed, and making the decision to rent out these rooms for $400+/night is criminal, in my opinion. The rooms are in fact far worse than the worst motel I've ever stayed at, and my husband and I tear up at the fact that we spent our hard earned money here. When I politely inquired at the front desk if an updated room was available, I was quickly told "no", unapologetically. I described the issues with the room, and there was still no apology. My concerns were only met with annoyance. Charging $38 for parking and $38 resort fee while also charging us $400+/night, to me, is just unthinkable. I have no issues paying for quality, but this property does not have it. Shame on you Catamaran. Since the front desk was unable to resolve this, I would like to advise others in the travel community that this property is practicing unethical behaviors driven by greed and the guests' money is best spent at any other property.
