Image of the Tripadvisor rating Fun for kids but outdated

The location is great! You can paddle board and kayak on site. The pool area is also great for the kids. There is also a corn hole set and a ping pong table which was fun. However, the hotel itself is outdated. Our room smelled musty and was damp. The shared spaces were not kept clean. I would not return to this property.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Should be advertised as "family hotel"

The staff was amazing!! And the bed was super comfortable. However, there was a moderate amount of mold noted in my room. On the ceiling in a couple areas and the side of the shower. There was also trash on the bathroom floor from previous guests. My room was overlooking the bay, which was stunning, however, that also overlooks the pool. This… Read more

There was also trash on the bathroom floor from previous guests. My room was overlooking the bay, which was stunning, however, that also overlooks the pool. This hotel should be advertised as solely a family hotel. Which is not a problem, except I was traveling alone and I do not have kids and was not expecting such a "family" oriented hotel. Continuous noise from the pool. I woke up two out of three mornings with a crying baby on the other side of my headboard at 5:45am. If you have a family, this is a great option. If you are looking for a more relaxing stay, I would not stay here again. Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great ocean view room!

Let me preface this review by saying my wife did the research and found this place, and I am so glad she did! We paid extra to have a king room with an ocean view and it was WELL worth the money. Let me preface this review by saying my wife did the research and found this place, and I am so glad she did! We paid extra to have a king room with an ocean view and it was WELL worth the money. Every morning we would wake up and open the door to our balcony to listen to the birds and watch the boats on the bay. The room itself was spacious and inviting. The room had plenty of room for a king bed, a couch, and a desk with a chair as well as the TV. There was also a great little area that had a Keurig and little fridge (no microwave). The hotel itself has three pools, two long waterslides a short waterslide, a hot tub, a spa, two restaurants, and a coffee shop. Plenty of options for you if you want to hang around the hotel all day. You can also rent kayaks and stand-up paddle boards from the hotel, or you can rent bikes and jet skis. They also have this great feature where you can text the front desk if you need something. For instance, because we made coffee every morning in our hotel room, we would run out of the paper cups. So my wife would text the front desk, and within 15 minuets we would have new cups delivered to our room. The only downside? It is $50 a day to park your car at the hotel. Whether you self park or valet park, the cost is the same, $50 per day. So just be aware of that. All in all, this was an amazing hotel to stay at, and would totally stay again. Read less

The Mission Bay Spa & Marina exceeded my expectations. The children that were with us had the time of their lives. There are 3 pools, 1 jacuzzi, 3 water slides, a kids drink bar, a fire pit, and a bar and sit down restaurant in the pool area. In the courtyard there was a fire pit, large connect 4, ping pong table, a Hawaiian shaved ice cart in the common areas. The food at the pool were excellent as well as the drinks. The rooms were remarkable, nice clean linoleum or tile throughout the room. I love a hotel room without carpet. There is a Spa, Yoga (fri-sun), and rentals so you can play in the bay. The views were top notch! I highly recommend this place for a family outing. Read less

Stayed in a Marina suite which had the perfect layout for families. King bedroom with pocket door to separate the kids from us. So we could put them down early. Pool is awesome too.
