The hotel's own restaurant, JSix serves creative cuisine, based on the world-renowned cooking of California, but with an added global twist. The 4th-floor outdoor pool area with its large, curving bar and plentiful loungers is a great place to hang out on days when you've decided to give the sightseeing a miss. We had no idea what the expect from this hotel and from San Diego as this was our first ever visit. We had booked this hotel as when I emailed with questions the manager had replied back very quickly which re assured me that he took an active interest in the hotel and the way it was run. On arrival we dropped of the car and checked in which was seamless. The lobby area was brightly decorated, clean and busy with guests. The room was clean and well decorated, as requested we had been given non feather pillows and a few bottles of water had been left for us. Our room looked towards Petco Park which was a treat as we could see fireworks during the games. We enjoyed spending time in the bar near the pool and the $5 margaritas went down a treat, The pool was clean and nice and quiet when we used it at 8.30 in the morning. We didnt eat at the hotel as noticed there was not really many vegetarian options but there are plenty of food outlets near by. Would highly recommend , there is so much nearby to do and the hotel is ideally situated. Read less

The restaurant does not open until 7am. It would be much better if it opened at 6am. There is no room service which was disappointing. This is the reason for 4 stars vs 5. We had the best time during our stay at Margaritaville! The rooms were extremely clean and captured the oasis vibe. The location is perfect - in the middle of Gaslamp! Our day in the cabana was so much fun. The cabana was huge! Great service and delicious food!

My best friend got married down in SD and we all stayed here. Staff is great, AC works well, complimentary water, cool roof top bar. Easy pick up and drop off.
