Paradise Point Resort & Spa

San Diego, California

Virgin rating

The hotel

Overlooking spectacular Mission Bay in San Diego, you can really take advantage of the bayside setting here — chill out by the water or by one of the pools, go out in a sailboat or speedboat, or take surf lessons. Paradise Point is set on its own 44-acre island, with lush gardens and a mile-long white sand beach. One of the best things about it is that whilst its secluded spot makes you feel like you are a million miles away from it all, you're actually just minutes from downtown San Diego.

Overall way overpriced and outdated. The conditioner was very dusty and noisy. The home service menu prices were outdated. Didn't feel secure at night. are was not gated. There was a paid breakfast, which was overpriced and a poor quality.

Absolutely love this place. We make it a yearly visit. Enter into Paradise Point and you enter into a whole new world. Quite enchanting. Service is excellent. Rooms are spacious. Excellent restaurants as well.

Frankly speaking if it were feasible, I would render a zero star review for this godforsaken resort. We stayed here with 2 other families from Los Angeles this past weekend (6 adults, 7 children) in 3 separate rooms. The front desk staff at check in was bar far the most rude, obnoxious, and dismissive bunch of hotel employees I have ever encountered in my life. This is saying a whole lot as I have traveled the word having visited over 60 countries and 17 US States. We would not stay here again if it were for free. Fortunately, our 3 families know several other families via school and kids sports leagues, and we are vigorously encouraging them not to ever book a room at this abysmal resort. Further, the attention to hygiene and cleanliness left a lot to be desired given the appalling lack of attention to this critical concept. The pool was dirty with limited amenities and the rooms were dirty without a legitimate dusting having taken place. In conclusion, I would really would like to know who the heck is hiring the check in staff. There were 2 ladies in particular, one with glasses in her late 40's with short brown hair, and an elderly woman in her late 60's with short hair and glasses working the morning shift on Sunday 8/14 at 7:30 am, who were two of the most miserable and abrasive hotel employees I have ever encountered in my time. A true abomination as it pertains to any iota of customer service. They should not be in this industry! Read less

This was the closest to a Hawaiian atmosphere resort. I was a little disappointed though. The resort is outdated. Limited restaurant. Limited pool umbrellas as well as no amenities (lounging chairs, umbrellas) by lagoon. You'll have to bring your own. Not very many areas to really lounge at the resort, except by pool area and by lagoon. The 3 days we stayed there, pool water was murky. Limited towels by pool. Main restaurant was closed. It's not a place where I was able to really stay all day and enjoy the resort, my family and I had to go out and explore. What I did enjoy was my 80 minute massage. Other than that, I was a little bit disappointed. sorry. Read less
