Paradise Point Resort & Spa

San Diego, California

Virgin rating

The hotel

Overlooking spectacular Mission Bay in San Diego, you can really take advantage of the bayside setting here — chill out by the water or by one of the pools, go out in a sailboat or speedboat, or take surf lessons. Paradise Point is set on its own 44-acre island, with lush gardens and a mile-long white sand beach. One of the best things about it is that whilst its secluded spot makes you feel like you are a million miles away from it all, you're actually just minutes from downtown San Diego.

Beautiful location but needs a lot of updating, the rooms are very old, the worst part is to get around, they offer a golf cart service to call from the room, but it takes sometimes 10-15 minutes to get one, sometimes you have to keep calling back, sometimes the cart never shows up. Beautiful location but needs a lot of updating, the rooms are very old, the worst part is to get around, they offer a golf cart service to call from the room, but it takes sometimes 10-15 minutes to get one, sometimes you have to keep calling back, sometimes the cart never shows up. For young people it might not be a problem to walk the distances but for elderly with health problems not being able to get around in timely matter definitely creates one. The place doesn’t have decent lighting at night, if you drive in, good luck to find your way to your room, there are no light or lid signs to guide you. The staff is very nice, they do try their best but the main experience for us was quite unpleasant. We held the wedding on the premises and a lot of guests were very disappointed in the resort, we expected much more for the room price they charge. Read less

Staff clearly care about the quality of your stay. They are helpful and informative. The resort area is well maintained and the rooms pristine. Highly recommended.

We have stayed here twice in two years and have loved it each time. The resort itself is gorgeous with tons of tropical plants, you almost feel like you are at a lush resort in Hawaii. We stayed both times in a bayside bungalow with a patio that was just feet from the beach/water. The rooms are nice and spacious and of course the views when on the water are spectacular. We were able to watch boats, jet skis, and rowers go by as well as stunning sunsets all from our room. There are plenty of activities to enjoy on the resort and restaurants too, you really never have to leave. If you do want to venture out, the resort is conveniently located to beaches, shopping, etc. Read less

Absolutely beautiful setting right on the beach. Feels very tranquil, lots of water, birds, turtles all around. Two resturants on sight, we only ate at the Barefoot which was lovely! would go back in a heartbeat, lovely place, definately recommend.
