A gem in the Gaslamp Quarter

We loved our stay at the Pendry SD! The property is well kept and the location is great but what really sets this property apart is the service. Every employee was so personable, kind and helpful. We loved our stay at the Pendry SD! The property is well kept and the location is great but what really sets this property apart is the service. Every employee was so personable, kind and helpful. The restaurants are delicious and the pool is beautiful. One thing to note - this hotel is in the Gaslamp District so on weekends at night it can be a little loud with music from the bars / clubs. I am a light sleeper and did not find it terrible but it is something to be aware of. But we loved our stay so much that we will be back!

A NEAR PERFECT STAY AT THE PENDRY

An overall fantastic stay. We booked through Pendry’s website and were upgraded to a bay view room on the 12th (top) floor. Thursday night we didn’t notice any noise, but Friday night was a very low hum and you’re right in the middle of the party when you step outside. An overall fantastic stay. We booked through Pendry’s website and were upgraded to a bay view room on the 12th (top) floor. Thursday night we didn’t notice any noise, but Friday night was a very low hum and you’re right in the middle of the party when you step outside. For weekends, I would rather be at the beach, but for seeing a Padres game or something else at Petco Park and/or downtown, I don’t think you could do better than the Pendry.
The thing I loved the most was the bed — the mattress, pillows and linens were all fantastic. The shower had good pressure and the toiletries smelled great. Housekeeping remade the room to be immaculate each day without either of us noticing them at all.
The in-room dining was meh, but it was late night (midnight-ish). The burger was surprisingly tasty while the pizza was surprisingly bad. I would order off of the regular or breakfast menu next time. There are tons of options all around the hotel, and the hotel also has at least three dining options.
A guy posted photos of damaged furniture, etc. in a review on here. I was worried that the rooms had taken a beating. While the hallways could use a refresh, you’re in the hallway for such a short period. The elevator and all other common areas are beautiful. Our room was also shown a lot of care, and it seemed as though the room brand new even though it’s not.
I was worried that check-in and service in general was going to be too much since everyone raves about it. It was nice that they seem to accommodate each person. Also, the valets were great. Check-out was easy, friendly, and a great way to depart.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone without kids (on the weekends). If you do have kids or want to assure a quieter stay, try to book a skyline or bay view to stay on the upper floors. But if you’re that concerned about noise, why stay right in the middle of the party?

Fantastic Stay at the Pendry San Diego
Sep 2, 2024511gonzaloWhittier, California
My wife and I came to Pendry San Diego as a little get away. As always, it was a first class experience from the moment valet opens your car door upon arrival to the moment valet opens your car door for departure. Pendry San Diego is such a luxurious and convenient hotel. The food is also amazing!
So disappointed. Not worth the cost

Just not worth the money. Expected more for the cost, location and proximity to places. Not impressed. Will explore other options close by since SD is a city we visit often.
