The Argonaut’s original red brick walls, rich wood beams and ‘deck floors’ help to transport you back to San Francisco’s nautical heyday. At the same time, the plush décor provides all you need to settle in to your charming surrounds. By Fisherman's Wharf, next to the cable car turnaround. Overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. An easy walk from Aquatic Park, Ghirardelli Square and great restaurants. A 12-minute walk to PIER 39.

Pleasant hotel and nice restaurant. My hair syler went missing from room and staff more or less took no action.This was a disappointing response.Spacious rooms and well equipped. Good quality room and well serviced.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Staff and the hotel itself were amazing. If you’re visiting San Francisco with children, Fishermen’s Wharf is the perfect location. My only complaint (and many hotels do this) is the duvet does not have a cover on it, the blanket is sandwiched between 2 sheets. I doubt the duvet is cleaned by the looks… Read more
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Staff and the hotel itself were amazing. If you’re visiting San Francisco with children, Fishermen’s Wharf is the perfect location. My only complaint (and many hotels do this) is the duvet does not have a cover on it, the blanket is sandwiched between 2 sheets. I doubt the duvet is cleaned by the looks of it (see photos). So basically when you sleep you inevitably make contact with a blanket that feels and looks dirty. I think it should have a washable cover. Other than that small gripe, our experience at this hotel was outstanding. Read less

My husband and I stayed at the Argonaut hotel in May 2023 on 2 occasions, our 1st stay was for 6 nights and our 2nd stay was for 5 nights, this hotel was great, staff were extremely friendly and efficient. On both occasions we were luck enough to be checked in by Stephen who was on the front desk, Stephen is extremely efficient and helpful and knowledgeable, he is a great asset to the hotel. The hotel is in a great location near to all amenities and tourist attractions especially the old trolley to take you down town, this is just around the corner from the hotel. The breakfasts in the blue mermaid restaurant were great, we had breakfast there each morning, there is a good choice of hot and cold breakfast items. The rooms are comfortable. The household staff do a good job of cleaning your room and are helpful if you need anything. We would recommend this hotel. We hope to stay at this hotel again. Read less

TIPS HOTEL: Make sure to get a map from concierge desk - has bus and tram routes on it. TIPS SIGHTSEEING: Download the Munimobile app and get a day pass the night before, you can activate it then just before you get on first tram and can use on all 3 trams and buses for the day. Tram stop is right next door to hotel, and you can catch bus 8 or 30 up one corner on Hyde to go to Golden Gate Bridge. Pier 39 is a must, so lively day and night. 10 min walk along the great strip. Pier 33 - trip to Alcatraz maximum 20min walk from hotel. Fantastic breakfast at Darrens Cafe 5-10 minute walk. Read less
