Riu Plaza Fishermans Wharf

Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco

Virgin rating

The hotel

Just a pleasant stroll from the shops and entertainment at Pier 39, and the ferry to Alcatraz, the Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf makes a stellar base to explore from. The hotel’s relaxed and friendly vibe is ideal after a day’s dim sum dining, cable car riding and selfie snapping. Your room is suitably airy and comfortable, you can kick back on the sun terrace by the outdoor heated pool, and, perhaps our favourite part, you can hangout by a crackling fire pit in the outdoor living area.

Hotel Riu Plaza Fisherman's fulfilled all my expectations. Excellent location. Secure and clean. The included breakfast is pretty convenient if you are doing a leisure travel. Definitively will plan to come back and meet some other Riu locations.

Very mediocre hotel not RIU.... hidden charges. Boeing reception no evening dinner. There are better hotels in SF and this is too overpriced for what is on offer. Had to change rooms twice before it was suitable.

Great location near Pier 39 and the Wharf. Excellent breakfast included in room price. A little noisy if you get a room that has a window facing the entrance where the fire pits are. Would stay again!

This is a nice, modern hotel in a relatively good location, with a decent breakfast. A walk / tram from the bay, bridge and city centre. Fisherman's Wharf seemed a bit sketchy at night, but on balance is probably a good area to stay. The hotel is slightly removed from the main road which helps too. Unfortunately traffic noise could be quite loud in our room and, when we thought we might pick up our hire car a day early, it was frustrating to learn parking was $50 a night. This place isn't cheap (where is in SF) but overall offered a good mid range option. Read less
