This is NOT a 4 1/2 star hotel. The location is very good (Nob Hill) - safe area & walkable to many places. This is NOT a 4 1/2 star hotel. The location is very good (Nob Hill) - safe area & walkable to many places. The view from our 8th floor room was amazing and the staff friendly and helpful (especially in the restaurant/bar area.) However, the rooms are VERY sparsely decorated (and I like clean design) - and the accessible room one of our party had was absolutely depressing. The front desk was friendly but their communication & knowledge was marginal. (They told us that the bar was closed at 10:15, yet when we went to check it out, the bartender said they were open until 11:00. ) The restaurant/ bar area was freezing - people were wearing coats to be able to sit there. (The front desk said there was no heat in that area - yet the bartenders told us it was broken. If there's actually no heat, that's crazy - this is not Palm Springs!) The internet was rarely working during our visit - we resorted to using cellular the entire time. On the positive side, the food & drinks at the bar were good & the bartenders were great about recommending wines. The beds were also very comfortable!

Small but intimate hotel

Small but intimate hotel. I loved the size of the room and the hotel's location. Will definitely return next time in town.
Wish the housekeeping were more clean as I did find hair in the bed and in the bathroom that wasn't mine. I also wish they provided some bottled waters in the room for the convenience sake. The towel rack is not heated…

Perfect Historic SF Hotel!

Great hotel in the heart of San Francisco. Rooms are super quiet within the hotel but you will hear sirens occasionally. But you also hear the street car bells, which is charming!

Everything was immaculately clean and fresh. A wonderful place to stay!

Good location and clean hotel

Clean, good location. Free coffee/tea in the bar area each day was fabulous. Also far enough away from the protesters on union square that we couldn’t hear any of it from the hotel which was a blessing! Only a short taxi ride to Pier 39 and easily walkable to union square. Good stay!
just say yes

Perfect stay in a perfect location for a show, not much else to say. Didn't enjoy the restaurant which is really a bar, otherwise it was great. Comfortable, clean and well maintained. No complaints except don't bother with the restaurant..
