It was a great location and walking distance to large cultural institutions. If you're here for work and are running late they have a small coffee shop on site that you can get your breakfast on the go. Such an amazing experience! The staff staff was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and they went above and beyond to make my sister’s birthday something special. Coming here every time we need a place to stay in the city.

I stayed for 4 nights with my 3 kids (ages 15, 20 and 22) over the Labour day long weekend for the 79th Annual North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament held at the nearby Moscone Center. We checked in around midnight on the Thursday. The room was fine but our view was terrible - as to be expected of a fourth floor room overlooking a rooftop. Early next morning, I went to the front desk asking if it was possible to upgrade to a higher floor with a better view. I offered to pay for the upgrade. I knew the hotel was quite full so didn't have high hopes. Wil, from the front desk, immediately relocated us to the 37th floor and asked if we were ready to move. Of course we were ready and enjoyed the rest of our 3 nights in a room with a spectacular view - at no extra cost. I will be forever grateful to Wil for making what would have been a fine trip into a fantastic trip. The room was very clean and modern, the beds very comfortable. The gym was spacious, welcoming and well equipped and both of my daughters made good use of it. The ready-made food/snacks from The Market, just off the elevators in the Lobby, were very good quality. A little pricey, as expected, but I didn't mind paying for the quality and convenience of good food available for a quick breakfast or snack. The location of the hotel was ideal as it was in walking distance of the Moscone Center, Chinatown, the waterfront, etc. On our last day we checked out of the hotel in the morning but left our luggage at the hotel as we were leaving for the airport in the evening. Hotel staff (I wish I had gotten his name) ordered a taxi for us to the airport and told us to relax in the lobby while he watched out for the taxi and helped with our luggage. This was our final wonderful moment with the Hyatt Regency SF SOMA, but won't be our last. Read less
