TLDR: This hotel is dated but clean, and the location is very convenient. Pros: You are 1 block from the Hilton. There are some really inexpensive restaurants (native Nepalese, Indian, Pakistani, Thai) a few blocks northwest if you are adventurous. The tourist spots and restaurants are east and north. My room was clean, well stocked with towels and toiletries, a desk, and an ironing board. The internet worked fine. The front desk agent, Joi, was very helpful. Cons: The hotel charges a “resort fee” of $25 per night on top of the booking and taxes. While it is in the Priceline fine print, it is not a good practice and in my opinion unacceptable and should be discontinued. The other con is that it can get noisy because it is an urban environment, but wear some foam earplugs (provided gratis). Warning: Also, the lift was out of order, so you will be climbing stairs with your luggage. Read less

The staff are really helpful and friendly I couldn’t fault anyone who we dealt The hotel on the other hand wasn’t the best. First of all the lift was being refurbished so we had to use the stairs they are very narrow. Our room was the small, with no air conditioning or fridge. The room did have a safe but we couldn’t get it to lock so we couldn’t use it. The hotel had free bottles of water and tea, coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby. We had to pay a service charge for our stay of $116.45 for our 4 night stay. Our room wasn’t made up or clean towels or bins emptied for the whole time we were there. We had to ask for more toiletries. The area around the hotel was awful. We didn’t sleep well as through the night the neighbourhood comes alive in a bad way, shouting in the streets, loud music. We expected staying in a city we’d hear traffic and sirens from emergency vehicles. The hotel to update their windows to give guests that extra soundproofing. We didn’t feel safe around the area of the hotel. Read less

The positives- room very clean, bed comfy and linen fresh. Location for the centre is brilliant- two mins walk from Powell tram station and the shops. Uber from airport was cheap and took 30 mins. Negatives- no lift, it’s not worked for ages judging by review. Stairwell is narrow and dirty. Not a good welcome. Just get it fixed. The area- homeless… Read more

They don’t bother you but are noisy so if you have a room overlooking where they hang out you will be kept awake by music and shouting and swearing. Read less

The hotel had a homeless man in a tent living outside playing music from a boom box all night and day who the hotel knew by name so he had probably been there a while. The lift wasn’t working so for my heavily pregnant wife 2 flights of stairs did not help! When we opened the door to the room we found that the lights were missing from the light holdings, and we had no running water in the shower! We changed rooms and ended up on a room facing the street so were treated to 24 hour boom box music all night! A shocking stay avoid this hotel as it is dated and clearly needs some work doing to it. On the positive it is in a good location with most things 10 to 20 minutes walk away Read less
