We had some yellow water coming out of the bathtub, everyday when we started the first shower, for 5 days. Location and staff are great but the bathtub did leave a nasty taste on our trip especially as we weren't just staying overnight. It was very unfortunate as my husband and I are big Hyatt fans, and definitely did not expect this, especially with a stay at a Grand Hyatt. Internet was also very spotty when I had to work from hotel. Had to hotspot my phone and go to the capital one cafe nearby somedays as well. Read less

Stayed for 3 weeks so got to know the pros and cons of this hotel. CONS Resort fee is an absolute scam. No Hyatt loyalty acknowledgement, not event a friendly thank you that costs nothing. Mean and noticeable cutbacks to club lounge over the duration of stay seemed like poor decision by management. Slow internet, and the printing in both club lounge and business centre never worked. Probably the most incompetent and rip off/inaccurate checkout experience I have ever had to endure. Room was serviced very late sometimes , as late as 4 pm, which was a very in convenient time for me, had to ask specifically to be done in the morning. No security lift swipe system, felt like it was too easy for anyone to get into building. PROS I had Club Lounge access and it was great for breakfast although there was absolutely minimal rotation of the food during the 3 weeks. Also they cut back staff, quality and choice of snacks etc progressively during my stay. Club lounge staff were very helpful, a highlight! Loved the suite, it was on a high floor with a separate bedroom, extra bathroom, abundant hanging space, lovely bed, proper desk to work. Convenient location with easy access to lots of restaurants, cable car, muni buses , trams and trains etc. Homeless and crazies on the street not too intrusive, compared to say other hotel areas like Market Street. Quite a pleasant stay at this Union Square high rise hotel. All the rooms have large sliding glass windows that partially open. This is a treat in a city like San Francisco that has wonderful weather year round. Indeed, during my stay, I turned off the HVAC and opened the window and let the fresh air in. It was wonderful. By the way almost all rooms offer great views. And those facing south and east are particularly breathtaking. Housekeeping, and front desk were fine. No problems there. The gym on the 35th floor is very good and provides an excellent view of the city between sets. And the rates at the hotel are remarkably reasonably as San Francisco has reputation issues that are partly undeserved. And as a result Union Square is surprisingly quiet. It might be a good time to take in San Francisco as hotel rates and the crowd densities have never been this low. One thing that needs to be addressed is the destination fee that essentially offers nothing. At the Mariott Marquis, they let you use the fee to ride the cable car, use house bicycles, and purchase items in the Market. At the Hyatt SOMA, there is a credit at the Market store. But here they only offer a 20% discount at their restaurant. That makes for a worthless destination fee. In spite of that, the Grand Hyatt is still a great place to stay. Read less

Highly recommend this hotel absolutely excellent. City view from the room was second to none. The lady who checked us in provided the most kind, caring, excellent friendly service I have ever received at a hotel of this size

I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for a conference and it was the best hotel for the price. The amenities and products used were great quality and loved the gym facilities overlooking the city.
