Parc 55 San Francisco, A Hilton Hotel

Union Square, San Francisco

Virgin rating

The hotel

One for shopaholics and sightseers alike, Parc 55 San Francisco is easy shopping-bag-hauling distance from Union Square — the only question is, do you hit the big-name brands of the nine-storey Westfield mall or the one-of-a-kind boutiques around the square? Its address also puts you a quick hop from Powell Street’s cable car turnaround, Yerba Buena Gardens, and Chinatown. Once you’ve filled your suitcase and your camera’s memory, you can enjoy the locally inspired dishes of Cable 55 (with its equally local microbrews), and Thai treats of Kin Khao.

I am a Hilton Diamond member. I highly highly recommend the Hilton across the street compared to this. This place was pretty gross. The rooms are super outdated and dark and ours had flies. The breakfast was gross for 38 dollars. Won’t stay here again.

We had a nice stay. Hotel is big enough to have all the amenities and small enough to still feel a little cozy. I enjoyed the gym as well it was well-equipped in the morning buffet was very good. Location is good close to everything and a straight shot to the airport.

Shoutout to Winnie and her team! They are accommodating and made us feel like VIPs. Winnie is extremely helpful and attentive to our needs. Excellent customer service! Feels like home away from home. Highly commendable.

I woke up with a live one sitting on my chest. Not just the bite on my leg, an actual live bed bug on my chest. I captured it under a glass. Went to call the front desk, and there was no phone in my room, so I looked up the phone number and called on my cell. They said to stay there, security would come to see me. I took photos and video. After several calls and apparently security going to the wrong room, they finally showed up an hour later. They did give me a different room to get cleaned up for my meetings that day and didn't charge me for the night's stay - which seems to be the very least they could have done. Serita, the front office manager, said she would "make it right." I assumed that meant some simple gesture, some Hilton points, whatever. After emailing several times through the following week they told me a professional had looked at the room and found no evidence of bugs. Except the one I have a video of? Are they implying I'm lying? STAY AWAY. Read less

Stay here for one night. Location is central. Room is clean but dated. Nothing special stands out. Front desk gave the impression that they just wanted to get thru the day. Diamond status didn't get us any impressive upgrade. Since I used points, I personally don't think it's worth 70K a night. Given so many points required, I was expecting better… Read more

Diamond status didn't get us any impressive upgrade. Since I used points, I personally don't think it's worth 70K a night. Given so many points required, I was expecting better amenities and hospitality. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. If you're looking for an economical flat rate for over night parking, 945 Market Street – Garage is just around the corner. It's $31 and can be purchased thru Park Chirp. Read less
