Put yourself slap-bang in the middle of some of San Francisco’s most fashionable theatres, restaurants, and sights. The boutique Marker Hotel is a great base — and its energy matches its setting. It was built in 1910 but you can still see its ‘Beaux Arts’ beauty in the lobby’s floor-to-ceiling fireplace and grand marble staircase. The hotel’s anything but olde-worlde though, with little touches like WiFi, and a Hydration Station providing fruit and herb infused water on tap.

Excellent hotel and staff.
Melinda and Bianca on reception were incredibly helpful.
The hotel was an oasis of calm in the bustling downtown of San Francisco.
Breakfast and diner were good at the hotel, but there are so many good places within a blocks walk. Pinecrest diner and Lapisara eatery were excellent.
Fantastic hotel

Just stayed for 4 nights in the marker hotel and what a delight it was.
The reception staff were very accommodating, the reception area is stunning, very chilled vibes after long days of exploring.
The restaurant connected to the hotel, we went for dinner once and it was lovely. We had drinks at the bar also, which was also nice.

The hotel is approx 5min walk from union square and very easy to get to and from.
I would highly recommend to anyone staying in San Francisco.
There is currently protesting going on at a few hotels up the road, which is absolutely no fault of the marker hotel but you can slightly hear the protesting in the morning and evening. Hopefully they won’t be protesting much longer but this did not affect our stay.

The overall room was decent and clean. The table in the room seemed a bit big when trying to use the pullout, but we made it work. We had many issues with billing upon checkout that we're currently trying to have fixed. The parking is NOT included UNLESS you get a package. That was a surprise $75 per night MORE with even more taxes. Be prepared to pay twice the amount once you include taxes. Being from OR, this was some sticker shock! The staff, overall, were very friendly and helpful. The location is nice as it's away from the bigger problem streets, but close enough to walk to many places. And we walked everywhere! We felt plenty safe here the entire time. The Trotto is an Italian restaurant onsite and was very good with great staff! ALSO! One big perk is that you get 2 complimentary water bottles that you can refill!!! This was amazing. Other than the billing issues and taxes/fees (which you get in CA) I'd recommend this place and would stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and had a great experience. We very nearly cancelled as we were worried about being near the tenderloin area but glad we didn’t. No problems what so ever and although you do see homeless people they are everywhere in the city and it’s more sad than anything else.
