Nice hotel & friendly staff. Walking distance to Oracle Park if you want to see a Giants game. Breakfast in the dinning room was very good as well as the coffee bar set up in the lobby. Received an "upgrade" to a Studio Suite which seems just like a smallish corner room. Was told there were no other upgrades allocated for Titanium… Read more

I would have rated this higher, if it wasn't for the destination fee.. Overall, it was a good stay and located super near to the Moscone Centre, where I was attending an event. I would have rated this higher, if it wasn't for the destination fee.. Overall, it was a good stay and located super near to the Moscone Centre, where I was attending an event. The rooms were very comfortable and I slept well. I also liked the gym and the staff were very pleasant - so thankyou! The bar wasn't so good - incredibly busy (admittedly due to the event) and it felt as if you were sitting in the lobby. You might be disappointed if you weren't attending an event and just wanted a quiet beer. Location wise, I think I would stay elsewhere if this was a vacation.. Although Union Square is fairly close (10 - 15 minutes walk), most other tourist places are a fair trek away. Yes, you can Uber/Waymo everywhere, but the traffic can be quite busy. Also this neighborhood does have it's challenges, especially when there are no events going on and there are less people around! (I lived in SF, previously) The destination fee is a rip off. Why not just adjust the room rate accordingly, so it is easy to compare rates at different hotels? Instead you pay $40 per day, that you can only redeem in the overpriced bar or restaurant. If you don't use it, you still pay! I would stay again if attending an event - that's for sure, but for a vacation I am not sure.. It would depend on the room rate. FYI, I like to walk (reasonably fast) and China Town is around 20 - 25 minutes away and North Beach around 40 - 45 minutes away. You could also walk to Pier 39 in around an hour. Read less

I particularly loved the window seat in my room, where I could relax with snacks and drinks while enjoying the stunning views. The hotel made me feel very safe and comfortable throughout my stay. I just wish I could have stayed longer. I can't wait to go back again next weekend! Highly recommended! Read less

Was in town for a conference and I booked myself in at the W since it’s right across the street from the Moscone Center where my conference was held - very convenient! It’s part of the Marriott family which is one of my faves - The room was fantastic- spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Staff were all wonderful and I enjoyed my stay. I reserved a “Cool Corner King” room on a mid level floor (room 902). It was well laid out, very roomy and cozy with nice partial city views. There’s a corner seating nook with large windows but some tall buildings block a bit of the skyline. Still a nice view. The bed is super comfy with an adjustable TV. There’s a mini bar, fridge and a workspace. They provide a lovely Nespresso style coffee maker but no microwave. The mini bar has a surprisingly decent selection of brands but it’s crazy expensive - $12 for a bottle of sparkling water lol. The bathroom is huge and the shower had a rainfall shower head - it’s heavenly! The soaps and shampoos smell fantastic. I took advantage of the room service breakfast one morning and loved it! I got the eggs Benedict with a side of fruit - everything was fresh and flavorful and my eggs were cooked perfectly with a nice runny yolk. But the fees were astronomical for the room service so the next day I ate inside their restaurant instead. The eggs Benedict were so good from the room service that I ordered them again - but they weren’t as good in the restaurant oddly enough - didn’t seem as fresh and had a slightly strange aftertaste. The lobby is chic and modern - they’re right next door to the SF MOMA and their decor matches the motif lol! They even gave me a voucher for 2 free tickets to the MOMA which I took advantage of and loved it - a very nice touch! The location is convenient - especially if you’re not bringing a car. Parking is valet only and I’m glad I didn’t have a car bc it’s $80 per night - crazy pricey. The gym is fantastic- it’s massive with a giant skylight and tons of equipment. They even provide fresh fruit and earphones - more nice touches. It was impressive. All the staff I interacted with were helpful, super friendly, kind and so welcoming. Booking online was easy via Marriott - all in all I would stay again if in town. Read less

The room is very well equipped with convenience. Notable attritbute is the stunning view over the streets - my room is at the corner so you could see the bay overthere and all landmarks at the other side including the Salesforce Park. Service is excellent, from restaurant team at Trace with enthusiasm, care and attention to your preferences to the warm Welcome Ambassadors (aka bellmen), front desk to the Style (housekeeping) team - I left a small note in my room and the maid did note about it. I tried food for breakfast, lunch and in room dining - the menu is thoughtful and easy to choose with well built options, esp to plant-based preferred person like me. Croissant here is so so good. I love it so much. Try the terrace outside level 4 if you attend the meeting there. It brings fresh air and great vibes to energize yourself. Fitness are top notch with natutal light. There are tons of activities activated by the hotel to immerse in local culture, either DJ at the living room to spice up your mood after a working day added with great cocktails with friends. The W Insider recommends great places to explore. Highly recommended for both business and leisure as the hotel is close to everything you need, museum, convention, shopping. You got all! Read less
