Its doable but awkward to wash your hands with body wash. - Water pressure wasn't great and shower head seemed partially clogged. - The internet is very fussy to get activated and often drops the connection after 24 hours (despite selecting the duration of your stay) - The A/C unit is pretty loud and woke me up repeatedly as it fired up - The office chair looks like it was pulled off the street - The food in the restaurant is incredibly overpriced for such mediocrity - The one time I went for the included champagne, they were out and I was given some exceptionally sweet rose instead. - No master switch to turn off the lights On the plus side: - Bathrooms are bright enough to apply makeup easily - Plenty of plugs in the room - Staff are all incredibly friendly Read less

Clara was such a friendly welcome to us as soon as we arrived on Thursday evening. It really set a positive tone on our father and sons trip. I've travelled a lot and spent almost 2 years of the past 10 in hotel rooms and this was an exceptional experience at the Le Meridien Santa Monica. Clara quickly assessed my situation and needs and did everything in her power to make it a smooth and pleasant transition for our stay here the past few days. I would definitely make it back here and recommend it to all my friends and family so long as the General Manager keep hiring more people like Clara! Read less

I almost gave this hotel five stars, but I have a specific reason not to (will save it for last). For the most part, we enjoyed our stay at Le Meridien. It was a wonderful stay once I got past reception. We debated between Le Merigot down the street, but they did not have suites available, so we settled on Le Meridien. Our suite was spacious, comfortable, and had double balconies. The rooms were quiet, and the premises (like hallways) were clean. While not directly across from the ocean, the views and breeze were quite lovely. The lobby area was comfortable, and they had a separate game area upstairs to hang out. We didn't use the pool because the weather was chilly, but people were sitting out by it and enjoying the sunlight. Because we were visiting friends and relatives, we did not eat at the hotel. We had dining engagements elsewhere, so I can't speak to that. Valet was excellent. Concierge was excellent and went out of their way. The bike rentals were fun. Just be wise that the hotel is uphill from the beach, so you'll get a workout. We enjoyed the neighborhood the hotel is in. We had fun biking through the community all the way down to the Venice canals. It takes five minutes to get to Santa Monica Pier and Ocean Blvd. Overall, I got the impression that guests were really enjoying themselves because I spent time lounging in the lobby and noticed. However, I am a stickler for customer service. For whatever reason, upon reception, one of the ladies behind the counter felt the need to remind me out loud, publicly that the complimentary drink limit was two...after I had one "small" glass of their wine and had already been told that, out loud, publicly by the lady standing next to her. She just felt the need to admonish right in front of other guests like I was some alcoholic or something. It was embarrassing, especially since I drink like twice a year. Then, I was standing in the doorway giving instructions to my kids as they unloaded the car, and another lady came from behind the front desk to give me a room key and closed the double door on me! I was like, "Excuse me?" Her behavior was totally disrespectful and unprofessional. We had just arrived. We were excited to be there after a long drive, and they blew it! They get an "F"on first impressions and being welcoming. Customer Service 101: never make a guest feel unwelcome. Ever! This is not Buckingham Palace, and they are not queens. This is the Marriott, and I am a paying guest. Their job is to assist travelers in feeling welcome away from home. With those two acts, they lost credibility and my respect. I avoided them for the rest of the stay and only dealt with the man at the counter. Read less

The staff were so helpful - I didn’t feel in the least like a burden. They brought deliveries safely to my door and after I’d tested positive were very supportive about how they could safely accommodate me. They helped make a really rough time - being very ill so far from home - much better. Because of my illness I didn’t see much of the facilities, but the reception staff and bellhops were all 10/10. I’ll definitely stay again when I’m back in the area. Read less

Love this hotel and I’m always looking to stay here while in Santa Monica. Marvin is great behind the bar and really helps this place rock! Try the Bloody Mary or the skinny margarita. They could use a better beer selection like some more local crafts or some hazy’s.
