The service at the Tavern is painfully slow, making it dining there with kids very difficult. Also, the hostess at the front is very confused and slow. 😞. Every thing else at Rush Creek is great. Awesome place for kids. Food is great. They need to really pick it up a notch on service at the Tavern.

We stayed there for Thanksgiving week (Monday-Friday). There are lots of good things to say. The location is good, it is comfortable and a good value, and the staff is so friendly! Location: at the Northwestern entrance to Yosemite, which is not heavily used. No wait at all getting into the park at that entrance, even the day after Thanksgiving. Also close to the Hetch Hetchy entrance, which is lightly used at this time of year. Lodge rooms are large with sturdy, comfortable furniture. Enough places to sit and to put things down. Plenty of counter space in bathroom, and plenty of space for toiletries. Fluffy, soft towels; crisp, smooth sheets; soft pillows. Not quite enough room for hanging up and putting away clothes, but that’s not a huge deal. Public areas are similarly well appointed and comfortable without being pretentious. Food is tasty, not fussy. Breakfast is especially good. Dinner options reflected some current trends that are not to my taste, but there was enough choice, and quality is consistent. Jamie made m sister-in-law’s coffee perfectly every morning, and kept my bacon out of my syrup. This seems to be a great place for families, but we two retired couples found it a comfortable place to return to after hiking in Yosemite each day. Read less

Great place. Close to the park and has plenty to keep you occupied when you’re at the lodge. The staff was super nice. One major drawback was the bed. We spend tons of time backpacking, camping and traveling so sleeping conditions vary. The bed in our room was awful. Other than that everything was outstanding.

With very limited time we had, we’re making the most of this bday vacay which RCLS afforded us. We chose to have a tour - Range of light Yosemite Valley tour and Tyler who was our tour guide didn’t fail us. He put all the captivating beautiful and iconic landmarks of the valley in a nut shell. Though, we didn’t see the top of the dome being covered with clouds, he gave us the opportunity to have our group lunch in the outdoors of The Ahwahnee hotel with the stunning backdrop of the high sierra as our scenery and also witnessed the grandeur of the hotel in the inside. He showed us many more…and worth mentioning is the experience with Dead Ted by walking through it’s tree tunnel as a result of lightning hit back then. After the day’s tour, we liked having the Twilight special in the Spa that we so deserve after at least 90 minutes of hike in the woods to encounter Big Red. We wish the hot in in the Spa could have set up in a way that it can be closed off from the top during this cold season. Lastly, we can’t forget the much appreciated assistance of Tyler (namesake of our tour guide… can you believe it!) who is in the maintenance dept whose mechanical assistance was very much appreciated when he helped us tremendously with our vehicle issues when it’s time for us to leave and head to our next destination. Tyler, gave my husband a new battery of the key pop and though it didn’t work when successfully my husband popped-a-lock our rent a car with the battery being dead, Tyler used his battery charger and lo and behold, the car started, thus cancelling the tow service and we’re able to leave and of note we are halfway to Las Vegas to catch our flight to our final destination to H town. The minor drawback of this review…missing TV set in the room (we stayed in Villa 2C)… the housekeeper didn’t empty our trash and the food portion in the restaurant is a lot for 1 person, it could have been just enough for a lesser price tag.
