The hotel

Tenaya Lodge’s setting takes some beating — bordering the Sierra National Forest and set on 75 stunning acres, it’s surrounded by nature. The hotel has plenty of activities, including a choice of trails and a guided walk to a hidden waterfall. Grab your hiking boots, or maybe a mountain bike, and head out to explore. At the end of the day, take a dip in the outdoor pool, get a s’mores kit and sit around the outdoor fire pits, or grab your torch and head out on a night hike. After all that activity, you’re likely to sleep well tonight.

Lots of chairs, wonderful fireplace and welcoming ambiance flood this soaring space. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The valet was so friendly with a wealth of information about the area and he made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We felt like special guests. The dining room (get reservations early) is very busy yet waitstaff are attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and well plated. In every way we found The Tenaya At Yosemite to be exceptional; staff, facilities and food. Read less

Stayed at Tenaya in nov 23. Average to bad experience. Breakfast buffet was not available due to few people in the hotel we got told. Indoor pool was worn out, and kind of dirty. Vending machines empty. We had 2 bottles of water a day as part of our reservation online, but when we arrived we got told it is actually just self-service refill from… Read more

Vending machines empty. We had 2 bottles of water a day as part of our reservation online, but when we arrived we got told it is actually just self-service refill from their cold water machine, in bottles they lend you. They had no more bottles - so too bad for us. The spa is split in men/women, so as a couple you can’t really enjoy that relaxation together.. Room was nice, and the food in Jackalopes was also good. Waiters were of differing service-mindedness - some were rude. Front desk personnel also didn’t really provide a good service experience. I had a good experience at Tenaya 8 years ago, but after this stay I’m probably not gonna return in the future. Location is a plus. Read less

Beautiful property close to the Yosemite entrance. Loved the cottages. Close to the lodge, but was private and cozy. Loved the tree lighting ceremony. Really got us in the holiday mood. Would love more vegetarian options on the menus

Just stayed for Thanksgiving and were disappointed at every turn. Upon check in we were told the Thanksgiving buffet was sold out, even though there was no mention of needing reservations anywhere on their website. Zero apologies or other solutions offered. They could not have cared less. The other restaurants either didn’t allow children, were miles down a dark road, or ran an hour+ wait. Jackalopes was our only option and we ate there all three nights. The short ribs were inedible and the food runner was downright rude. The manager took our complaints and offered no compensation or much more than a quick apology. There was a 20-min wait for hot chocolate each night. The game room was stuffed with teenagers and old broken equipment. The whole staff - from front desk to concierge - seemed to do the bare minimum. There’s one line for all onsite restaurants to make reservations which ran 20-30 min just to get your name on a list. You’re stuck and they know it. The only positives were the comfortable room and location to park, and servers at Jackalopes, who despite being understaffed were doing their best. If management reads this, I hope they take it as a chance to improve even small things - like including a note about needing reservations for holiday meals on the website, offering an online reservation system for on-site restaurants, and above all else, talking to staff about how to interact with guests and trying to genuinely help instead of shrugging and being rude. This was probably the best tour I’ve ever had and it was because of our tour guide Tyler. It was just my son and I for thanksgiving and we did a whole day tour of Yosemite with him. This was probably the best tour I’ve ever had and it was because of our tour guide Tyler. It was just my son and I for thanksgiving and we did a whole day tour of Yosemite with him. He was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond for us in every way. It almost felt like we were the only ones on the tour. Even my 11-year-old son was totally sucked into the history and every part of our day. We hit every single landmark, including some hikes and breath-taking views. Recommend this tour 10/10 especially for families. Read less
