The hotel

Tenaya Lodge’s setting takes some beating — bordering the Sierra National Forest and set on 75 stunning acres, it’s surrounded by nature. The hotel has plenty of activities, including a choice of trails and a guided walk to a hidden waterfall. Grab your hiking boots, or maybe a mountain bike, and head out to explore. At the end of the day, take a dip in the outdoor pool, get a s’mores kit and sit around the outdoor fire pits, or grab your torch and head out on a night hike. After all that activity, you’re likely to sleep well.

A lovely cabin-like hotel/lodge for having a great time with family and friends. You can book either a cabin or a room. For this trip we booked a room, for my husband my kid and me. This trip was was planned mainly with the idea of experiencing the natural world in Yosemite reservoir and Mariposa Grove sightseeing. This hotel was neat, clean, had many amenities including a spa, yoga clases Monday through Friday as far as I recall, but did not had the chance to experience the spa or the yoga class because I was there just for a weekend. The food was good, but the highlight was that they had an outdoor firepit and the hotel provided marshmallows, chocolates cookies and sticks so that you could prepare s’mores at night. There’s a small jacuzzi, a very cute area for kids to play in a swimming pool, with mushroom-like fountains near the main pool . The hotel has a nice terrace were you can have a nice view, if there is no party or convention taking place. You can go hiking, they provide tours during the day or at night with a friendly staff. They have a nice food store where you can buy sandwiches , wine, food, coffee, very early, so you can go to hikes or some place early in the morning. They also have 2 nice stores with cute souvenirs, and cute sweatshirts, you can buy stamps to send letters to fiends or family. Love this place would recommend it for sure. Read less

Fantastic hotel . We stayed here for two nights as part of a road trip around California . The staff are welcoming . The room was immaculate , spacious and one of the best we have stayed in so far . Yes the food was expensive but to be fair we have found all California expensive compared to UK . We dined in the restaurant the first night and had the barby the second . To be fair I think we would have gone back in the restaurant for both nights if we could do it again . The pool area is lovely but we didn’t manage to get sun beds as so busy but it wasn’t a big deal to sit on grass . Lovely place lovely staff and very surprised it is only listed as a very good . The hotel was great. Very clean. Truly felt like a resort but without the crowd. Multiple pools, glassblowing station, excellent restaurants. I HIGHLY recommend going on the Tenaya 360 tour. Our guide, who has familial connections to land in Yosemite, was truly a "history book". He provided so many facts along with context. Excellent trip!

I attended a conference here but chose to attend based on the location near Yosemite. My sister accompanied me. The hotel was very clean and the staff the friendliest. My sister enjoyed sitting by the pool in the mornings while I attended the conference, then during the afternoon we would visit the park. There was limited parking near our room when we arrived back to the hotel after 7pm so we had to park in overflow lots. Read less
