It’s not glitzy or modern, but they’ve kept it up. My first room was too cold, and they cheerfully moved me to another room. Rooms are spacious, with nice bathrooms and large flat screen TVs. WiFi is free, worked well. Minibar fridge is electronic so they’ll charge you if you take anything out. Nice fitness center. Staff are very helpful and friendly. I arrived late for what I thought was a buffet lunch at my conference, and they made me a fresh new meal. Conference food was excellent. CVS is across the street, and a well-stocked market is around the corner (Bockwinkels). Overall, this is not at the level of the Peninsula or Four Seasons, but its a very nice place to stay with good people working there. I’d stay there again. Read less

I stayed on a business trip last week and the Fairmont was perfect. A great workspace for me to answer my emails, prompt room service with excellent food, and all of the staff were so friendly. I'll be staying here when I return.

My husband and I came to Chicago for a wedding and decided to stay for the weekend at the Fairmont. We booked a room on the 37th floor in one of their suites and we were both blown away by the views, suite, and service. The valet was wonderful taking care of our bags and car, the check in staff were great and our room was ready 4 hours earlier than expected. We also had access to the gold members lounge and the staff and food there were excellent! We were only there for 2 nights and 3 days for a wedding but we both felt like we were on vacation. This was our first time staying in Chicago as well as our first time staying in a Fairmont hotel. We definitely want to make a trip back to the Fairmont Chicago and plan on visiting other Fairmont locations in the future. Read less

At check in, we met Cody at the reception desk and he was extremely accommodating. In addition to making the check-in experience seamless, he made out dinner reservations for that night and even checked in with us later to ensure we had an enjoyable evening. Well done!

Spent a few days there while running the Chicago Marathon. Staff is professional, pleasant and the rooms are well appointed and clean. The in-hotel restaurant is a little pricey but the food and service are excellent. Only disappointment is I believe they raised their normal rates due to the marathon being in town.
