Nice reception area very outdated amenities charge of destination fee of 25 USD with tax, and the only perk I can get from that is wifi. lifts stopped on random floor, sometimes no response from all the button pressing. dirty room with cherry pits on carpet minifridge locked with paid drinks, I can't even stock some of the cold drinks/yoghurt I bought. no shower caps, needs to call frontdest each time for supply. extremely old room and facilities noisy room for which I had approaced the front dest. Bed just next to the room door. I could hear people talking, opening and closing their doors, laughing inside their room, even drying their hair while sleeping. most of rooms there have connecting door to next room... The staff has tried their best but personally I think it is problem with room design which is unlikely to resolve unless they renovate and acutally pay attention to noise insulation. I have stayed in another hotel (Hyatt) in close proximity during this trip, which has recently renovated and the amenities are way much better. I would definitely not recommend this hotel. Read less

The price for this hotel was about 2 or 3 times what I've paid at other hotels around the country, but I decided to splurge for my birthday. I figured I would get a luxury experience. Not at all. The outside is pretty, and downstairs, everything is fancy looking and decorated like it would be a luxury experience. Once we got in the room, it was a basic room like from any other hotel. The only difference is they have a small fridge with $6-16 drinks and you aren't allowed to use it for your own stuff. They also have a little tray with snacks and a QR code with prices. My 13 year old almost grabbed a small box of gummy bears and then I scanned it and it said that it would be $15. We did not touch any of the stuff. I had also asked for a refrigerator and microwave in the room on my reservation and reminded them at check-in. We didn't get it until day 2 or 3 after calling them again and the refrigerator looked all beat up like they got it from the trash. They also charged an extra $375 at check-in in case we used any of their amenities. We did not, and still got charged $88. Almost every other hotel I've stayed has offered free breakfast. There's different levels of breakfast of course, but it ranges from a muffin and orange juice to a whole breakfast with bacon and eggs and sausage. The only complimentary item here was water. They charge if you use the coffee maker in the room. You can also pay an extra almost $100 per day for breakfast, but I cannot imagine a breakfast being that amazing that I would be paying that kind of money. It was very underwhelming for the price paid. There's a guy named Benjamin outside that is very friendly and the location is great walking distance to a lot of stuff, but that is about all that is nice about the place. Read less

Picture upgraded Hampton Inn. Clean hotel. Modest decor. Forgot my room. Waited an hour. Happens sometimes. Depressing decor. Dim lights. Limited artwork on the walls. No character. Really a functional hotel. Price is fine for what you get.

This hotel is ideally located in downtown Chicago. Staff are friendly and helpful. Special kudos to the valet team who worked under pressure yet kept their composure and had a smile for everyone. Evening cocktails and breakfast were both good, although pricey.
