Image of the Tripadvisor rating Amazing, Convenient Hotel For Lollapalooza

Stayed here with friends for Lollapalooza back in July. We used points versus paying $500+ a night so we got a great deal. We were upgraded to a "Family Double Room" meaning we just had a little extra space and a twin-sized pullout in addition to the rest of the room with two double beds. We easily fit 6 people in our room so it worked well.… Read more

We were upgraded to a "Family Double Room" meaning we just had a little extra space and a twin-sized pullout in addition to the rest of the room with two double beds. We easily fit 6 people in our room so it worked well. Beyond this, the lobby of the hotel was nice and it had a Starbucks in the lower level which was super convenient. I would give this hotel 5-stars for it being nice and convenient to Grant Park with its affordability using points but I know that not everyone will stay here using points--which is why I gave 4 stars. If you're looking for a Lollapalooza or just a hotel in general when staying in downtown Chicago, definitely take a second look at the Sheraton if the price is rice (or if you're using points). Image of the Tripadvisor rating Perfect and Beautiful location on the River

Nov 22, 2021 Shannon M Los Angeles, California

The hotel rooms were average, a little dated. Stayed for a work conference being held at the hotel. The location is perfect, right on the river, easy to walk or obtain an uber to attractions. Would definitely recommend the hotel and would personally choose to stay again. Chicago is an amazing city.

Every year (except for 2020 Covid) we have stayed at the Sheraton Grand for an annual conference. Without a doubt, it is the best customer service ever. We were happy to see so many familiar faces back after the pandemic closure. From the doorman (Mike), to the front desk, to lobby ambassador (Suzanne) and Connie in the club lounge, each and every person does their absolute best to make sure our stay is top notch. They are welcoming, helpful and go out of their way to see that we have what we need for a great stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable. We highly recommend them for a stay in Chicago. I stayed at this property during an unexpected end to a business trip. This property served as the conference hotel for our organization. While I didn't stay here during the conference (another Marriott property across town), I learned about 30 minutes before I was going to depart for the airport that my flight was canceled and I was re-booked for a departing flight the following morning. I was extremely disappointed as I wanted to return home to my family. My organization arranged for me to stay at this property for one night. When I went to check in, I was greeted by Charlotte. After explaining to her my situation and my Marriott Rewards status, she made sure to take care of me by placing me in a room with a great view of the river and Lake Michigan. I also experienced a hiccup with my corporate travel card that required me to make several phone calls on the spot. Charlotte was patient and understood. I usually go Pros and Cons with my reviews, but the service exhibited by Charlotte results in me giving this property the highest rating. On top of the great view, the room and bed were comfortable. The location is near Michigan Drive and all of the major shopping entities. If management reads this, please recognize Charlotte. If all of your employees perform like she did, then you're in great shape. Maybe she can train new employees, too. Read less

The hotel was the site of a medical conference and we enjoyed our stay there. The conference was set up on two different floors so we kept having to ride the escalators up and down, which was fine. The conference food was exceptionally good, and this may have been in part due to the fact that the conference was targeted toward overcoming obesity, so the food was obviously chosen to be on the healthy side, and featured lots of beautiful vegetables. The main downside was that the hotel was not close to any of the CTA stops, so it was a little complicated to get there by public transportation unless we were prepared to Uber. But we would definitely go again. It was only a couple of blocks from the Navy Pier, which was convenient, as well as within reasonable (less than a mile) walking distance from a number of great restaurants and just two blocks from Michigan Avenue.
