We wanted to stay near the Riverwalk for our last night in Chicago, and this seemed to be the bet -- not the lowest prices, but what looked like a lovely room. We were fooled. This is a budget hotel with lipstick on. Our room, which was spacious and had a nice view, also lacked: working coffee- and tea-making facilities, a working refrigerator, and bathrobes. In addition, their was no vanity mirror, and no other amenities of any kind. Totally bottom-of-the-barrel. To add injury to insult, the property charges a $25/day "resort charge" for -- let's see -- WiFi, a bag of popcorn, and ... not much else. This is outrageous. There is nothing at the property worth that charge, it's simply deceptive pricing. For various reasons I couldn't return my rental car the Sat after T-giving, so that's another charge: $65/night, but get this: for SELF-PARKING. Not even Valet. And catering as they do to the conference crowd (which I'm not a part of), the bars are stupendously overpriced. On the good side: I found the staff to be pleasant and attentive, and I tipped them generously -- they're not responsible for the corporate shenanigans! Read less

However, for the amount of money they charge, I could not believe there was not a refrigerator or microwave. I also had dinner at Shulah’s Steak House. The food was just ok, but just like the rooms at the Sheraton, EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. The worst part was that the staff was horrible. It seems that nastiness is what they are hired to serve to guests, because there was a lot of it being dished out. There were charges on my bill that I still have questions about, but since the accounting department has not returned my call, it doesn’t seem like I’ll get those questioned answered. The best part of my stay was interacting with the housekeeping staff. Each person that I had the pleasure of speaking with was extremely kind and helpful. The front desk staff and the restaurant hostess could take lessons from them. I must say, I am truly disappointed in my stay at the Sheraton and it did show me that you don’t always get what you pay for. The housekeeping staff, beautiful lobby and room view are the only reason I gave 3 stars. Read less

Not a bad hotel but I considered it way overpriced compared to other hotels within the same price range. Stayed here for a conference. Room was nice. You are right on the Chicago river, and that is nice. Within walking distance of some places to eat.

We were there for a conference, held in the hotel. Check-in process was somewhat slow. The room was good-sized with a king bed. Had a little trouble with the TV, but staff were able to fix it quickly. Free wifi and worked fine. Hotel is clean but in need of a bit of refreshing - fabrics wearing thin, new paint needed in places. I sat in the lobby… Read more

Had a little trouble with the TV, but staff were able to fix it quickly. Free wifi and worked fine. Hotel is clean but in need of a bit of refreshing - fabrics wearing thin, new paint needed in places. I sat in the lobby at a table with outlets to work, and the plug would not stay in the outlet. Food is very expensive - when we arrived, not that late on a weeknight, only the steakhouse was open, and soup/salad/one glass of wine was $60/person. Very convenient location - 10-minute walk to the El, views of the lake and river. Read less

Good stay - agree with some of the other reviews that the hotel is aging. The check in process is awful - long lines and at 4p our room wasn’t ready so we had to wait another 20min in line once they texted us that the room was ready and to pick up the keys. That process needs improving. Even with mobile check in, people were having issues. Otherwise, nice pool & sauna for the kids, great location, and awesome views of the river and city! For (Titanium) elite perks, we used a SNA certificate and got a 1 bed suite for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 8 & 9). It’s was nice and appreciated but the sofa bed was semi-broken and extremely uncomfortable for the kids. A standard 2 queen room probably would have been better. The $25 destination fee is a little annoying but you can enjoy most of it by getting something at the hotel bar or restaurant. If you stay 1 night, you have to use it up the first night, not the next morning. Outside of the $25 food and bev credit you get some other perks for the fee like a key chain, mug, and bag of Garrett’s popcorn. Breakfast the next day at Riverside was awesome! They had an impressive food spread and you get a voucher for 2 people for being elite. Our server, Luz Lema was amazing. That was the highlight for us. Read less
