From the minute I stepped into this hotel I knew it was a mistake. Everywhere is very dated and warn. Needs a full makeup. We checked in last night with our friends. We both booked stage same room type they are given a room on higher floor which was renovated. We were told sorry no other rooms when when asked why our was on a lower floor. The front desk clerk and manager were very rude and dismissive. Even though my husband put on reservation we were here celebrating 50 th birthday weekend with friends. They couldn’t care less!! The room which says is a river view king was a tiny little corner overlooking a parking lot. It smelled of mold was disgusting.!! We called to complain and someone else was all of a sudden able to give us a higher floor. Funny I guess hotel isn’t at full capacity !.So save your money this hotel is not worth the Sheraton or Bonvoy brand. The new room is has no vanity in bathroom so nowhere to put our toiletries worst Reno job ever. We’ve stayed in many much nicer hotel in Chicago this by far is the absolute worst! People are loud in hallways, doors slamming all night just a a nightmare!! We also weren’t told we had a food credit or given our welcome snacks I was in the hospitality business for 15 years and I will be complaining to Sheraton hotels about how this hotel has incompetent and rude clerks. Wish I could check out and really enjoy my birthday with special perks other hotels offer to their guests. Don’t ever prepay you stay here. Read less

Image of the Tripadvisor rating Execs or High Elite Members Stay Elsewhere

Bonvoy Platinum elite members and above should stay elsewhere. I checked in today and could not be more disappointed with the basic room I have, which is a purported "upgrade" because it is on the 33rd floor. That hardly qualifies as an upgrade. The room is small, has merely a view of the Trump Hotel and the small Marina. Unimpressive! The room… Read more
Bonvoy Platinum elite members and above should stay elsewhere. I checked in today and could not be more disappointed with the basic room I have, which is a purported "upgrade" because it is on the 33rd floor. That hardly qualifies as an upgrade. The room is small, has merely a view of the Trump Hotel and the small Marina. Unimpressive! The room does not even have a robe and barely any comfort items. Not even water. The bathroom tub is 90's and has a shower curtain and one sink. Essentially this is a very basic room and woefully overpriced and unimpressive. Sadly, when I checked in, I told the kind lady at the front desk that I would gladly stay more than one night if she gave me a nice room. Apparently, she didn't want me to stay longer because this is the most basic room I have seen in Chicago and this hardly qualifies as an "upgrade." Additionally, the Club lounge has nothing but granola bars, cold coffee, and basic water and juice. Very shocking that it didn't have fruit or anything beyond cheap granola bars. I plan to depart tomorrow and give another premium hotel a try. I really wanted to like this Sheraton but it is dismal at best since this is one of the best rooms they can offer. I recommend Platinum elite and above stay elsewhere. This seems like a hotel for conferences, weddings and graduations with mass visitors merely looking to attend an event at the hotel. They don't seem to value individual executives loyal to the Marriott brand. Read less

There were extra fees applied for us to have four adults in a room. Our room, however, was questionable. Instead of two queen-size beds, they were double beds. There was limited overalls space in the room. We found it crowded as we entered it. The bathroom door had a patched area. The curtain looked new, yet the old curtain rod attachments were still on the walls. Wifi was $15.00 a person, which we did not pay. The TV was usable if one would pay for the movies. The TV would not turn off. There was a broken cooler, and there is a fee for a refrigerator to be brought in. I was looking for an electrical outlet behind the console dresser and saw a notice to patrons. This hidden notice stated that charges would be applied for use of particular amenities. We will NEVER stay at his hotel again. Read less

So the website indicated room service was offered. Guy at front desk indicted that room service was offered. Room service was not offered. When I called guest services they said the guy at the front desk was confused and probably meant to say valet parking. That makes sense. So the website indicated room service was offered. Guy at front desk indicted that room service was offered. Room service was not offered. When I called guest services they said the guy at the front desk was confused and probably meant to say valet parking. That makes sense. Plus super weird empty unplugged minibar with a sign indicating we needed to call if we wanted a mini-fridge which we did and some guy showed up with a fridge and set it on the floor and plugged it in. Super weird all around. Then I go to at least get ice and the ice machine on our floor is broken, which okay I get it happens, but there are like five bags of trash in the ice room and not from that day, been there a few days by the smell and the dried puddle that leaked out of them. Not cool at all. Thermostat wouldn't go below 72 and kept resetting to 80, you had to dial it back down to 72 and manually turn up the fan multiple times in a day just to get some air flow. We left to go to the museum, didn't get back until almost 4pm and the room had yet to be cleaned. Maid knocked around 4:30 and we sent her on her way. The burger restaurant was closed, the lobby bar didn't open until after five-on a weekend. It all felt painfully understaffed. Read less
