Great location, very average for the price Room serviced every 3 days, was small in size and kind of dingy, interiors were old-ish, and is priced way too high for its quality. I will not recommend this to a friend

First, they couldn't find my reservation and told me it was my responsibility to call Chase (I used points to pay) to sort it out, even though I was showing them the confirmed booking on my phone. The person "helping" me was surly and obviously extremely bored with her job. To be fair, the manager sorted it all out and was very kind, but the rest of the staff throughout my stay was not good. Second, the hotel just did not look clean. I don't mind no housekeeping while I'm there, but I do expect a clean room when I arrive. Third, the bar scene in the evenings is loud and raucous and so noisy that we had to go into another room just to have a quiet drink. Finally, the decor is pretty tacky. The hotel used to be much nicer looking. Finally, the restaurant that used to be in the hotel is still closed. I will not stay there again. Read less

Pretty basic hotel The room would be big in Paris but is small for Chicago. Room serviced once every 3 days (first time I have that. ) Check-in took ages with only one employee at the front desk Too late for breakfast at 9am. My window is against a brick wall a few feet away. The positive side: the room was quiet and dark and I sleep well. I… Read more

As soon as I stepped foot on the property, I was reminded of the American Horror Story season that took place in a hotel. The lobby has that old school elegance, but aside from that the rooms are dark and small. Walls are thin and you can hear everything going on next door and in the hallway. The bathroom is tiny with no ventilation so the two towels they provide you will be wet the next day. Even though the room is small, the a/c struggled to cool the room even though we had it set at 65. Here’s where our experience went downhill. Around 1am an employee was stabbed on our floor a few doors from us. The hotel cannot control this, but what they can control is how they respond to the situation. We were in the downstairs bar while this was going on and there was zero communication. They placed a hand-written sign by the elevator that said “5th floor closed”. We were still able to head up and as soon as we stepped off we were greeted with police tape and blood all over the floor and walls. Luckily, we were able to go up a floor and down the stairwell to access our room because it wasn’t blocked off as part of the crime scene. 6am the following morning we were awoken by crews hastily cleaning the hallway before people checked out. To top it off, there was no hot water in the morning and it was still cold by the time we checked out at noon. We tried calling downstairs multiple times to find out what’s going on and to get dry towels with no answer. There was no supervisor to speak with when we checked out, but we were assured that someone would follow up with us. It’s 3 days later with no word from the hotel so we’ll see if they follow through. If you decide to stay in the Loop (south of the river), do yourself a favor and stay at one of the other known hotel brands close by. Read less

They’re pretty small, especially the bathrooms, and felt unclean. There was a strange rust stain in the tub by the drain and odd stains on the wallpaper in the bed area. The walls are also the thinnest in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I could truly hear pretty much everything the person next door was saying crystal clear as if they were sitting right next to me. The customer service is good. It’s fairly average overall I guess, I didn’t hate it, but I was pretty surprised this is considered a 4 star hotel. Read less
