Spent a couple of nights here recently. Check in was a total nightmare which took far too long. Although our room was clean the lifts and corridors were grubby. We struggled at breakfast time because we didn't have a voucher which we should have been given at check-in. Poor toiletries. The pool wasn't open and looked disgusting. Staff were not… Read more

Greeted at breakfast by a man in scruffy ripped jeans. Breakfast buffet pathetic. Fruit empty, no yogurts, no plates, no bacon, nothing replenished until one of us asked and then there was a long wait More bacon only put on to cook when tray was completely empty so 25 min wait. We had no time. Staff very casual. Girl who was front of house was on her phone the whole time, didn't bother checking her guests were ok There was also a leak in restaurant ceiling with a bin catching the water. Awful experience. Communal areas not clean, staff not in uniforms, shop not stocked. If you want to sleep don’t stay here as it’s by there freeway/interstate and load as hell. A dated hotel with very very substandard customer services levels. Now let’s talk breakfast!!! Oh wow. Breakfast is on until 9.30am but this morning at 9am I arrived to have my paid for breakfast to find nothing available except French toast and boiled eggs. Every single container empty. When the attendant was asked for it to be replenished I was told it will not be as it closes at 9.30am. Disgraceful. There was no yogurt. Juice. Hot water for tea. Creamer for coffee. The place was a mess. At the same time a management meeting was taking place in the reception area. Having a huddle to set up the day but never once seeing what was in front of them. Place is just dirty. Staff not friendly. No hi 👋 or bye 👋 Oh and parking!!! $22 a night and security barriers up all the time we were there. Ha. Avoid at all costs guys it really was a shocker!!!! This was a stop on our honeymoon and by far the worst place we had been. I had to stand in a queue for over 20mins waiting to check in with 2 very slow staff members. The location isn’t the best as I’m not very safe to walk from to downtown. The room was very basic we never had any coffee etc topped up so after our first night stay we had no drinks. This was not mentioned at check in, the room was extremely noisy right on the highway and you could hear traffic all night. The car park was not secure at all, even though we got charged without asking for any information about our vehicle. The barriers stayed up the whole time with no check on who’s car was who. We could have just not said we had a car and parked there for free it’s a joke. Finally to top it off, we had breakfast included within our booking. If you paid on site £10 pp for a disgusting breakfast that had sat there for ages all congealed. We didn’t go on our first morning but our last morning my husband went to get something before our next long drive. Eughhhhhh no way he was eating that and the staff member 1 male was the most disengaged team member. Another guest asked for hot water for his tea, he waited over 10 minutes with no apology and just plonked the jug down on the side. Other guests turned up around 9.10am breakfast is advertised uNeil 9.30am. They were told by the terrible team Member that there would be no fresh food and the old, cold disgusting food was all they could have for £10. What a absolute joke, this hotel is a disgrace to the crowne plaza name. FYI during our 3 week honeymoon we stayed in 3 other crowne plazas, 2 others had a fruit basket and bottle of wine in our room for our honeymoon and the other was exceptionally clean with great amazing staff. Please take the crowne plaza name away from this hotel. Read less

We arrived to a really friendly greeting from the reception. We had a room up on the 6th floor, a the end of the corridor. The view looked over downtoan, albeit we're a way out and actually you mainly saw car parks and the homeless. The place is tired, the air con is an add-on and noisy, the water continuously ran in the toilet and the bathroom overall was worn and needed a refurb. Only one lift was working so you had long waits or were crowded in with others. The breakfast was mediocre - pretty messy and even the fresh-cut fruit was poured from a long life jar- which was left standing all morning in the open - the fruit were fermented and terrible. There were no food options nearby so plan on bringing snacks! The pool was empty with a little green water in the bottom - the nighttime coloured lighting illuminating this seemed surreal and weird - why leave pool lighting on when the pool is drained??? The walk into town was along one of the main streets but was really empty. There were a lot of homeless and a couple of boarded up office buildings but felt safe enough. The courtesy shuttle was a boon, albeit we were toldin a jokey manner to get out our money and told how much to tip! He also cruised the streets picking up guests from other hotels to earn some extra money on the side. Read less
