My husband and I did not properly celebrate our anniversary last year. So we took a special amount of time to plan for 2020. With COVID 19, we decided to stay close to home and explored spending time at the Harbor Inn. The receptionist sold me on a very nice room and even showed it to me. So we stayed there. All was perfect until we did not receive a special order from 1 of their selected restaurants and not receiving some guaranteed items like turn down and room service. Apparently, there was miscommunication between the manager and 1 of the receptionist (in regards to our room service), which happens. There was NO explanation as to why we did not receive our turn down service. During the discussion with the manager to resolve the issues, he kept explaining and offered no resolution to our issues. Finally, he said our room service order would be remade the next day. He saw us and made no mention of it as if he'd forgotten. The receptionist went to get our turn down service items returning with two very small glasses and 4 pieces of candy? We paid $208 for BS. The manager's lack of concern for what was a simple error and his inability to at least attempt to resolce them will keep us from staying at the River Inn again. I was going to send a family member and his wife on a brief getway there as I thought my husband and I would've loved. To the contrary: I will not be recommending this place to ANYBODY! Read less

We chose Memphis and the River Inn as our last stop before returning to Fort Worth. From the moment you step through the doors the magic begins. The intimacy and charm is all there. You are welcomed with wine or champagne. Our room the Mary Houston Suite was perfect. Overlooking the river, spacious, well appointed nothing was left out. We enjoyed drinks at the Terrace Bar and the Little Bar. We had a relaxed dinner at Tugs and a delicious breakfast at Paulette’s. The only amenity left out was no valet or bellman. Add those and this little hotel will stand with the best. We almost stayed an extra night! We will be back. Read less

The dry cleaner is quick and has great service. Patrick and Jake at the front desk, along with the waiter/waitress at Paulette's are incredibly helpful and welcoming. The rooms are well done and clean. Read less

When our spring break plans had to be cancelled, we booked a weekend at the River Inn. It was a dream stress-free getaway. Karl Friedrich, the General Manager, seemed to be around every corner. Each detail was impeccable. Cheerful front desk, attractive tiled stairway for when we wanted to skip the elevator, fire in lobby, roses everywhere. We booked a dinner at Paulette’s & it was divine, with a river view. We had appetizers upstairs at the Terrace with another stunning river view. Even breakfast (included for 2) had a river view! The room and bath were luscious. Living room with working has fireplace. Truly, we wanted to move in. Housekeeping was lovely and accommodating to our schedule and needs. Chocolates and port wine surprised us at turndown. After a weekend at The River Inn, my husband & I were recharged & refreshed. Could not have improved upon our experience. Weather was dreary and cloudy and we still had a great time. Neighborhood is very walkable & a manicure/pedicure was down the street. Massage shop was a couple of doors down & a gourmet grocery on the corner. Beautiful & fun! Read less
