The room, on a high floor, was quiet. Apart from that, the standard was worse than a cheap motel. The fridge was full of food that somebody had left behind and apparently had not been defrosted for months. The unlined wastebaskets must have come from the nearest Dollar General. I’ll start with cons, because there are SO many: Parking entrance at night is dark and poorly indicated. Desk staff announced my room number loudly. As a solo female traveler this is awful and scary. I’ll start with cons, because there are SO many: Parking entrance at night is dark and poorly indicated. Desk staff announced my room number loudly. As a solo female traveler this is awful and scary. Carpets were awful. Stains and dirty with other debris that clearly indicated they hadn’t even been vacuumed. Valet parking is required but the desk and restaurants have zero cash to help break bills for tips. Had I known prior to arrival I could have planned to bring smaller bills No free coffee in the morning Bed was lumpy and pillows were flat Cons: The restaurant staff was incredibly nice and the breakfast buffet had a lot of nice choices. Stayed here for a conference. The front desk seemed confused about reservation. When I first turned on the shower, there was dirty water and air coming out from the pipes. Stayed here for a conference. The front desk seemed confused about reservation. When I first turned on the shower, there was dirty water and air coming out from the pipes. Ceiling tiles in bathroom were stained, partially broken. Ironing board cover was damaged. Room temperature not stable. Meeting room for work meetings has stained and damaged tiles, and the catered food was terrible. A mystery gray meat could have been pork, chicken or fish? No food buffet was labeled at all, food was set too early and left too late, which I assumed to be a staffing issue. On one of the days, a person threw a brick at the hotel lobby windows. The Sheraton provide a clean and friendly venue for our conference. The options for meals and entertainment made all our members content. The parking situation could have been better, but it was a good compromise for the added security.

Stayed at the Downtown Memphis Sheraton with a conference and would not recommend. The rooms were worn down and outdated, with the deadbolt and shower both having issues that remained unresolved during my stay. One night a man came into the lobby and smashed all the flower vases then refused to leave. Security did nothing while the restaurant/bar… Read more
Stayed at the Downtown Memphis Sheraton with a conference and would not recommend. The rooms were worn down and outdated, with the deadbolt and shower both having issues that remained unresolved during my stay. One night a man came into the lobby and smashed all the flower vases then refused to leave. Security did nothing while the restaurant/bar staff tried to get him to leave. A waiter had to go flag down a cop, so took about 20 minutes before the man left, all of this while the lobby/bar/restaurant was filled with people. That night, someone threw rocks through several of the windows in the lobby, including the sliding glass doors. The two incidents combined definitely gave an unsafe feeling to the area & hotel. When asked for some resolution, like points, the front desk staff said there was nothing they could do. Read less
