This place is a PIT. Room is nasty dirty. Entire place needs an over haul. Hall has light bulbs that were burned out and not replaced. I feel like I need to take antibiotics just from staying here. Linens feel and smell gross. CHEAP! Bathroom floor is all sticky. Forget trying to eat at their WAY overpriced hotel. They had two employees. Our… Read more

Our daughter and friends waited two hours for their bagel breakfast. NO free breakfast here. The ONLY reason to stay here is if you want the convenience of being connected to the Convention Center. But, I won’t waste my money on that again. I’ll take the parking inconvenience and stay at a NICE hotel! I’m not sure how Marriott has this hotel rated, but it’s crap. Read less

After reading a mixed bag of the reviews I picked up the phone and called the hotel. I was fortunate enough to to speak with John Wright who answered my questions and made me feel comfortable booking my stay at the Sheraton. We booked a river view room and we’re very pleased. The have lights on at night and it’s beautiful. You can also see the Pyramid. The room was clean and spacious. Mini fridge was nice to have. We were in Memphis for volleyball tournament at the convention center and the Sheraton is attached via sky bridge, so it was super convenient to avoid the rain and cold going back & forth from hotel to convention center. The hotel was really full so meals required some additional time. We did their Grab & Go Breakfast both mornings and found a good selection and fair value. Parking is valet or across the street. While not super convenient to park across the street, it wasn’t a big deal. It was also cold and raining, but still, not a huge deal. Overall we enjoyed our stay and felt compelled to share our review. We would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay again on return trips to Memphis. Read less

The beds were uncomfortable. The food is WAY overpriced ($16 for a Caesar salad). But the absolute worst is when we got our bill we were charged an extra $56 for parking (for a 2 night stay). When we arrived we were told it was $25/day for valet parking and that there was free parking on the side of the hotel. We opted to pay for parking at the… Read more

When we arrived we were told it was $25/day for valet parking and that there was free parking on the side of the hotel. We opted to pay for parking at the church across the street. So it turns out the “free” parking is not free apparently - deceiving info from valet people. And 2 different people we know that stayed there got their vehicles broken into and windows broken while parked at the “free” parking aka $26/day parking. This is downtown so a lot of roamers through the area. I tried to call the hotel to discuss the parking fee and they kept sending me to billing where they don’t answer and make you leave a message with your number and never call you back. Avoid this place. Read less

I have known this property for more than 25 years. I was not traveling for church but I know it well my church once hosted a national convention in the city. I've stayed here many times. I chose it out of that history. This property has MORE THAN declined since I was last here. Other than friendly people at the front desk, I have shared no favorable reflection of my stay. I was more than disappointed. I paid for a package which included my stay and valet parking. From the moment I arrived, the valet met me. The valet lot is directly across from the entrance, on property, secured only by a lift gate. With consideration of covid-19, a global pandemic, I asked the valet my option to park my own car. I explained to the valet my pre-paid parking. The valet offered me to park across the street at the church for an additional $18 or to find street parking. I explained repeatedly my pre-paid package. He never "got it" nor reached out management to understand. A second valet came in an attempt assist in some way, but he too pushed back when I insisted that my parking was pre-paid. With only 30 minutes before my meeting, I went inside, followed by the valet. The front desk CONFIRMED that things were just as I said. My parking was included. Unfortunately, I was the "learning moment" for the valet for what was said to be a package that had been recently added again to their offering. And my biggest concern was having someone else in my car DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. I was happy to pay for parking onsite. I just had a preference for strangers NOT to be in my car DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC!! The halls of the hotel REEKS of marijuana. The rooms are dark, dreary and in need of a MAJOR overhaul! One of the switch plate covers for the electrical was laying on the floor. And I was completely aghast at the cleanliness standard. The window sill, coffee maker and furniture were covered in dust. There was straight hair (mine is dark and curly) on both my bed and in the shower. The front desk staff was nice. That is the only kind reflection I have. I requested and was granted an extended check out for 12:30 p.m. At 11:52 Housekeeping knocked on my door. In my haste I opened the door and was standing FACE TO FACE with a worker wearing no mask. I ALMOST DIED!! IN MY FACE IN A GLOBAL PANDEMIC!! This property is NOT cheap. And it definitely did not deliver the experience for the value paid. The entire experience was one that I don't want again soon. Read less
