The hotel

Rubbing shoulders with America’s biggest country music attractions, Hilton Nashville Downtown guarantees you’ll make the most of every moment you’re in town. With Walk of Fame Park as your front garden, leading you straight to the Country Music Hall of Fame, it’s also just a block from Ryman Auditorium and near Nashville’s famous honky tonk bars. You can kick off your day with breakfast at the hotel’s MarketStreet, before hitting the gym or taking in Nashville’s sights – or more importantly its sounds. And, whether you’re back for lunch, dinner, or just evening cocktails, you’ve got the striking atrium’s Symphony Café, The Palm Steakhouse, and the authentic Abruzzi tastes of its Italian restaurant, Il Mulino Trattoria, to pick from. Although, as this is an all-suite hotel, you may be tempted to just order room service instead.

We visited Nashville for 4 nights/3 days and couldn't have been happier in our choice to stay at Hilton Nashville Downtown. Being 1st time tourists and not wanting to deal with driving ourselves, nearly everything we wanted to do was within very easy walking distance. The Country Music Hall of Fame, Johnny Cash Museum, and Broadway were all less than a 5 minute stroll from the front door. Ryman Auditorium and Martin's Barb-B-Que Joint restaurant were within a 15 minute walk and we walked to The Gulch area of Nashville in under 30 minutes. For sites not quite within walking distance, we used a hop on/hop off bus (a booth/stop was under 5 minutes from the Hilton Nashville) and Uber to go to Grand Ole Opry. As for the hotel, our room was very comfortable and clean. The suite was a true suite, with clear definition (including a door) between the bedroom and living area. I chose a corner room on 3rd floor, with the corner being the furthest from the Bridgestone Arena. This room had a sight line to Broadway and a couple of Honky-Tonk bars; while we could hear some bass rhythms one night, it was more like "white noise" than something to keep us awake. The other 3 nights, we didn't hear anything. (Note: our nights were a Saturday through a Tuesday and we heard the bass on Saturday night.) The staff was (mostly) very pleasant and helpful. One minor exception was that a bartender acted & verbalized being frazzled/swamped one afternoon at the hotel's bar and it took quite a while to be served simple drinks. While this wasn't enough to take away from my view of this being an excellent hotel, since it was during normal "happy hour" time, perhaps additional staff is warranted. We did not use the fitness area so I can't review this and just FYA, there is no pool at this hotel. If we return to Nashville, I will definitely choose this hotel again. Read less

Decided function over form on my decision to stay at the downtown Hilton. Very "convention crowd" look/feel to the hotel. Not that this is bad, but this isn't a quaint little place only three people in Nashville know about. This hotel is perfectly situated one block off the rocking' South Broadway area, a sixty second walk from the Country Music Hall of Fame, Ryman Auditorium, Johnny Cash Museum and about 2 dozen honky tonks. It is at the base of the pedestrian bridge leading across to the NFL stadium where the Titans play. On a football day, I can't imagine a more popular and convenient spot. Also across the street from the Bridgestone arena where the Predators play. And about two blocks from the convention center. Professionally run -- as one might imagine for a property that caters to large business groups, associations, etc. Connected to a solid Italian restaurant and The Palms a fairly good steak house. I think the rooms are all suites (i.e., two rooms) and newly updated. Coffee and H2O provided in room along with mini-fridge. Very convenient. Beds were great. Noise: yes you can hear some thumping music from the honkey tonks on Broadway from your room but it isn't to the point of keeping you awake. Similar I would say to staying in a hotel on any busy street in any large city where you might hear traffic, shouts, buses, etc. Bring earplugs if it's an issue. We came to celebrate a 60th birthday party and kick loose on Broadway, hear some good music, and enjoy what Nashville has to offer. The Hilton worked out great on every score. Read less

Fantastic rooms and location. Very quiet and clean and the restaurants and staff are great. The breakfast restaurant had good variety and Il Mulino was excellent as well. Recommend this place highly as well as I’ll Mulino.
