We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in July 2019 and a year on I am still upset about it. The hotel and the restaurants were good but not amazing. We stayed for 5 nights in a nice room with a sea view. The problem we had was that the bedding was wet, as were our clothes when we put them on. Imagine trying to sleep in a damp bed. On the first morning I contacted the manager early in the morning and asked for all our bedding to be changed including the duvet and pillows. Hooray problem solved, that night we slept like babes. Night 3 was not so good, back to our original problem. I complained again, they came and checked the room out but could find nothing wrong. The room also smelled of damp and to top that we were next to the ice room . It’s amazing that so many people have to collect ice in the middle of the night. When I got home to the UK I wrote to complain but did not receive a reply. I googled the damp hotel room scenario and found the answer to what I believe what was wrong, the air conditioning unit. If the unit is faulty it can cause furnishings to become damp. If I found that out, why did maintenance not know this. I am still upset and have bad feelings about this hotel group and their lack of care. This is an expensive hotel and you don’t expect to have this lack of care. Read less

This is one of my favorite places to stay on Kauai. It's nestled right up to Shipwrecks beach, which has some fun waves if you're a surfer. The service is wonderful and the hotel is beautiful. I loved waking up and grabbing a cup of coffee then going for a walk down the green belt right outside the hotel grounds.

The staff here at this hotel are pure ALOHA spirit in their hearts and everything they do everyday for their guests at the Hyatt. A beautiful property but for us what brings us back every year are the amazing people!

This hotel has many fine places to dine. We chose the Koi Pond venue as it was a little less formal and seemed like more fun what with the whole place built over a Koi pond so the fish swim all around the restaurant while you walk on raised paths with wider sections where the various tables are placed. We chose the Koi Pond venue as it was a little less formal and seemed like more fun what with the whole place built over a Koi pond so the fish swim all around the restaurant while you walk on raised paths with wider sections where the various tables are placed. The menu is heavily Polynesian with all the standard Hawaiian favorites and several interesting variants of spit roasted pigs and mahi-mahi baked in salt (Try this one!). We enjoyed it a lot and will certainly go back next time we are staying in Kauai. Attentive service without being obtrusive made for an overall excellent time. Read less

The hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous! The hotel staff goes above and beyond. The room next to us, there was some sort of party going on. We called the front desk and they immediately investigated it, and took care of it. As we were there my husband and I were already making future plans to visit the property, and bringing family with us. Can… Read more
