This is a repeat visit to the Grand Hyatt (we began coming in 1999 and have returned every few years since). The experience was first-rate, from check-in to check-out. I appreciated the use of wristbands as opposed the cards for room entry, etc. (as kids always seem to lose/misplace them). The staff being consistent at various places (like Ilima… Read more

The staff being consistent at various places (like Ilima Terrace for example) and remembering us from prior stays makes it seem like we are returning home in a sense. Read less

Although I was a big nervous since so many years has passed - that it might not be as wonderful as I remembered. But, it certainly was and more. THey have maintained the beautiful hotel and it is truly a gem of the island. Don't have any doubts about staying here. It's worth every penny because of the location, beauty and unparelled pools and beaches. Thank you to Cam who was so kind and welcomed us late at night after a trip from the East Coast. He even gave my son a bottle of sparking juice as we were celebrating his HS graduation and he gave us champagne because I was celebrating my 50th. He was a class act. Ian - our server at the cabanas - was also exceptional. Friendly, but not disruptive. All around, a wonderful stay and hope we can return before another 22 years goes by. My family and I enjoyed the many different pool options that were offered! The poolside lunch option was perfect! We would love to come back!

I had high expectations for this place due to all the positive reviews, but my family and I were disappointed right from the start. My husband, our daughter and I are here to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. Upon check-in today, we were assigned a room with a bathroom that smelled like a public restroom. After notifying the front desk, they relocated us to a different room on the opposite side of the building. This room, while closer to the pool, only offered a partial ocean view, despite being advertised otherwise. To add to our frustrations, one of our suitcases was forgotten by the bellman from our initial room and didn’t even apologize. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the downgrade in room quality, the hotel offered to move us yet again, but to a room back on the other side of the building and on a lower floor. At that point, we already wasted an hour of our day and my husband was not interested to walk all the way back to the other side of the property after traveling a long way here. We decided to go to the salt lagoon but it was closed and pool was very crowded that we couldn’t even find a single chair for 30 minutes. While the second room had a better-smelling bathroom, we encountered periodic ant sightings in the sink. Later, when we attempted to use the fridge to store some drinks after dinner, we discovered it emitted a foul odor. As if these issues weren't enough, upon preparing for bed, my husband found stains on our bed sheets. We have to be up at 4:45am to head to a boat tour and trying to go to sleep early. The loud music played outside making it difficult to fall asleep. I'm deeply disappointed by these experiences and am shocked about the poor quality of this reputable resort. I am regretting to book here… Read less
