What was supposed to be a 3 night stay turned into 3 weeks! Hyatt proves once again why they are the best in the business. As a loyal Globalist with Hyatt, the Grand Hyatt Kaui excelled in every way, this is a special place - it's not flashy like the Andaz Wailea (which I also adore) - it's more like coming home to an authentic Hawaiian home with true aloha spirit and hospitality. The resort was very quiet and I always felt safe with the proper COVID protocols in place for staff and guests alike. Room (upgraded to a lovely oceanfront suite as a Globalist perk), dining was great, from the breakfast buffet, poolside lunch and dinners at Tide Pools - all very good! I also got dinner "to go" a few nights. Self laundry is great for extended stays too. Remote WFH here was a dream (fast wifi) and I'll be back in 2021! One of the top resorts in Hawaii. The service was top notch from the front desk, breakfast staff to housekeeping and pool crew - all so genuinely lovely and gracious. Thank you for a wonderful and safe stay. Read less

We had gotten married on the beach in front of the Hyatt 14 years ago this week, and had our newlywed dinner at Tidepools. We returned for our anniversary and are so happy we did. Due to covid, the hotel was at greatly reduced capacity so we had the place nearly to ourselves. In addition, the hotel put in place fantastic safety protocols including reducing the overall number of beach chairs to maintain distancing, frequent sanitization, markings on the floor/ground for spacing, reduced capacity at restaurants, dedicated refillable water bottles provided for each guest, etc, etc. We felt safe for our entire stay. We enjoyed the pool complex, the restaurants, and the room. We had a beautiful ocean view suite and would sit on the lanai of our room to watch sunrises, sunsets and the waves crashing on the rocks. Special recognition to the staff at Ilima Terrace serving breakfast each morning. They were friendly and helpful, and the food was great. What a great way to start each day. Conditions permitting, I highly recommend booking a stay here before the world gets "back to normal" and the crowds flock back. Read less
