Anyone who values a regular night’s sleep should stay wary of this place. The mattresses are in the absolute worst condition. The room mattresses are old and lack support. What’s worse is the pull out sofa. The experience is equivalent to sleeping on just coils.

The good: The staff was all very friendly and accommodated our needs in a timely fashion. There was an issue with the electric stove and they came to look at it right away and ended up replacing the whole stove! There was an issue with the electric stove and they came to look at it right away and ended up replacing the whole stove! The location is good as it is right next to the Coconut Marketplace with lots of souvenir shops and a small general market. A couple restaurants connected to the other resorts within walking distance. We had a full kitchen so we were able to prepare simple breakfasts and lunches to save money. The bad: The room where we stayed was really outdated and needs some TLC. The beds are lumpy and overall it just looks tired. The pools were similar to that of a motel pool. The ugly: The ocean "view" is obstructed by a ten-foot wall. You might be able to walk to the shore, but there are people camping out on the beach in front of the property and it's a bit sketchy. We walked through other resorts to get beach access although the beach is too rough there. It was a depressing vibe. At least it encouraged us to get out and see the island. Read less

When I booked the room, I was under the impression I would have 2 queen beds. When we checked in, I was disappointed to see that we had a king bed and a pull out. There were no other rooms available-this made it difficult for a family of 5 with the youngest being 13. We had to buy an air mattress, adding to the already significant cost of the room. The taxes and fees for the room put us well over our budget-we booked with the understanding that we would have 2 nights free. When I asked about it, I was given a run around answer and did not get the two free nights. The bathtub is cracking in places-needs to be updated. The room was mostly clean but had a weird smell. To access the beach, we had to pass through homeless camps-wouldn’t recommend taking small children through them. The marketplace next door was convenient and had a couple good eating options. Our family of 4 ,with 2 kids(2yr and 5yrs old) stayed here for 4 nights. Things I like about this stay and place: 1. Firstly the front desk staff was pleasant. The rooms were clean,2 comfortable queen beds and spacious room. The space in the room was very comfortable for our family, with seperate bedroom, powder room and shower room. You will get a parking decal for your vehicle and plenty of parking available. 2. There is a sit-out(lanai) with 2 chairs, pool and play area in the property(but we didn't use any of them, anyways) 3.During the stay if you ask/available the front desk shares snorkel gears, beach toys for kids(subject to availability) and also beach towel, which needs to be returned(if not then be ready for a charge on your bill while check-out). 4.All the appliances were working(we had requested for a rice cooker, promptly got it while check-in) the kitchen was equipped with a fullsize fridge, most of the utensils, cutlery, etc., sufficient to make your stay comfortable. 5. Easy access to coconut marketplace(which as pretty good shopping and eating options) and downtown Kapa'a/Kealia is very good. 6. Safe and easy access to wailua beach and lae nani beach parks(walk through Aston islander and Kona beach resort for wheelchair/stroller) is totally worth a relaxing morning stroll in this beautiful island. Now the things I dont like: 1. The traffic noise from the nearby freeway is evident when you open your door to lanai.Yes we were family with 2kids, it didnt bother us much, but expect some if you are planning for your romantic stays or something like that. 2. The unit itself is pretty old, some appliances(electric stove) are totally outdated but it gets the job done.So set your expectations right before you walkin. 3. Housekeeping is not daily,so check with front desk for details, they will replenish the towels though very frequently. 4. The front desk is not available 24hrs, so make sure you let the front desk staff know before hand if you were to check-in late night. All in all it was still a good and pleasant stay to consider if you are looking avoid resorts with unjust resort fees. But with options from airbnb, etc., I am not sure whether I would consider coming back again to this place. Thanks to support staff for making our stay comfortable, Aloha! Read less

I chose this resort as it was good value and it suited us as family with a teenager and 20 year old. The room gave us plenty of space and our 20 year old could sleep in the lounge. The toilet is separate to the wash basin which is handy if someone wants to brush their teeth or wash their hands. The staff at reception were helpful and friendly. The resort is a 3 minute walk to plenty of restaurants and ABC store. The pools are newly tiled and there are 3 across the property. Would definitely stay again. Read less
