We checked in as Marriott Vacation Club/Vistana Timeshare owners, and we were delighted to receive complementary valet parking. We then were pleased with our bell man who boxed up our groceries and promptly took us and our luggage to the room, offering us excellent advise. The Timeshare unit was beautifully decorated and modern. We had the two bedroom lock-off over looking the pool. The pools were heated, big treat for a Hawaii resort as they usually are not. They had beautiful barbecue areas equipped with state of the art barbecue grills that just allowed you to turn on the gas and grill. They had picnic tables so that you could eat as a family next to the pool. There were lights that you could turn on the grill itself that lite up the panel. Additional lights were available and in addition we loved the Tiki Torches. The work out facility was off the pool and was very well equipped with free weights, machine weights and cardio equipment. The room itself was lovely, and very well equipped. They had start of the ark four burner stove, a convection oven-microwave, and a nice size refrigerator. The lock off room had the sames except for just a two burner stove. The lock off room also had a sitting area and a bathroom, with a king bed, and a balcony. My son loved having his own pad that connected to our room. Both rooms' kitchens were well equipped with everything you could imagine from toaster to blender to all of your dishes and utensils. There was a two person eat in area in the main room with a sitting area and separate bedroom. The beds were heavenly and both units were equipped with a washer and dryer. The big treat were the 50 inch TV's in both bedrooms, and the great room. It kinda felt like being at the movies. We had maid service on Thursday for both rooms. We loved the pools and the beach. The rock pool is right on the beach. The beach is one of the best on the island. A cozy little cove. We enjoyed Lava's restaurant which had nice ocean views and breeze. The food was delicious and reasonably priced for Hawaii. We bought a Frisbee for six bucks and had great fun in the pool for that. They had music on Wednesday in the courtyard, and the islands only beach luau. The concierges were amazingly helpful as was the front desk and the front desk manger. They treated us so well. A shout out to Linda, Jane, and the front desk manager, as well as the maid service, and the valet parking attendants who all went over and above their duty. We loved the enhanced check in area with their new reflecting pools and fountains. The landscaping was immaculate and gorgeous. Needless to say this will be our timeshare destination every time we travel to Kauai or Hawaii for that matter. I do want to address the construction noise. There were some periods of noise during the day well after the time people are up, out and about. I see it as finishing up additional timeshare units so that we could have greater opportunity to come in the future. Most people are gone and at the beach etc. during this time. We just planned around it. Read less

Perhaps I’m the only one who didn’t get the memo but there is Huge amount of construction happening on the villa side of Sheraton Kauai. During all my travels, I have yet to write a review during my time still staying at a hotel. But I am compelled to make this exception for those who are thinking to come here. I’m staying in building 7 which is one of the villa building and there is a pool right next to it. Was wondering why I didn’t see anyone hang around near the pool. Thought it was because they prefer the beach. Discovered why at around 9 am or so. our room on the 3rd floor starting to reverberate with loud jack hammer type noise. Was so loud that when I called customer service , they could hear the noise on the other end of the line. They say they can move us to building 8 but the noise is so pervasive I don’t think the move will help. Am told that the construction will take a break for the weekend which is good cause I leave on Sunday. But OMG, I feel bad for everyone that has to endure this. It’s BAD. Really, really BAD. The resort itself looks great with a nice beach. But hard to give it any positive review when the construction noise overshadows everything else. Wish I had known about how bad it is here so sharing this hoping it will help save someone’s vacation. Read less

Used pts/free night for first 2 nights with a garden view & paid for the final 4 nights with a ocean view. No frills property but for the value our rooms were good. Best part about this property is the access to the beach for activities. In my short stay in terms of beach activities, this beach specifically would rival as one of the best on the island. Thought the hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. Short uber ride to restaurants and easy access to roads for day trips. Not on the scale of the Grand Hyatt or some of the other resorts around it but for the price this is a solid option and would definitely consider returning. Read less

Sheraton deducted points from my Marriott account and we never got an upgraded room! Still trying to get points back, THREE WEEKS LATER! John Swanson, the manager never even came out of his office to acknowledge the mix up or apologize! Slow service for breakfast, after waiting 45 minutes for our food, they didn't even serve the correct food. Sent back and had to reorder...... Another day they tried to charge extra for the breakfast that was already included. We finished our stay at the Grand Hyatt, and it was amazing the difference in customer service. For a resort the Sheraton, needs to improve in customer service! Read less

I’m a Marriott member and stay 25-50 nights at Marriott properties every year. This Sheraton really disappoints me. First, I requested earlier check in at 2 pm when the regular check in is 3 pm. Room was not ready until 3:40pm, and no apologies from the front desk whatsoever. They did acknowledge receipt of my early check in request and told me they were expediting the cleaning around 2pm. I guess that simply doesn’t mean anything. That ruined an whole hour of my time during my limited vacation time. Second, when I finally got into my room it is a double beds as opposed to a king bed that I requested. Called the front desk and was told that no king bed room was available at the moment. Again, not willing to help or find alternative solutions whatsoever. Read less
