Amazing stay, great location, good food! Could not have asked for more, especially for the price! Also loved that they had water bottle refill stations to cut down on plastic, so nice! The staff was friendly! Would definitely go back!

I’m not sure where to start with this review having left 5 star reviews in the past. I have omitted some minor concerns due to covid restrictions but really feel that this hotel has dropped the bar considerably. The cons…. Prior to our visit I had attempted to contact the hotel and received no response including social media channels so arrived with several questions. The check in was perfunctory and essentially staff member giving her monologue and not allowing for any questions until the end. No welcome back and acknowledgement of previous stays. We were advised of the resort fees and the ‘benefits’ we would receive as a result. We were advised of free WiFi which we would have received as HH members. There was a small card with instructions about DVD rentals, with respect we don’t wish to remain in our rooms watching tv whilst on holiday and most people now have access to online streaming services for films etc. We were given a voucher to submit to valet for a free beach chair, boogie board or soft top surfboard ( only one permitted for entire 13 night stay for two people and with a note about being subject to availability) which was pointless. The amenities associated with the resort fee were all provided previously without a resort fee so would strongly suggest you look for a beachfront hotel that warrants these fees. This hotel is in a more residential area and there is a lot of noise throughout the night, the firehouse is fairly close and sirens can often be heard. The complex opposite also has several fire alarms that caused additional noise disturbances. We were not warned at check in of ongoing maintenance that continued throughout our stay on weekdays from 8.30am with constant drilling and a rig going up and down the ‘city view’ side of the hotel. It would have been appreciated if we had been forewarned after a long 24 hour travel with the option to upgrade to avoid some of the noise. The housekeeping standards have declined dramatically. We purchased our own cleaning items as the tops of picture frames and bed frame was covered in dust along with skirting boards. The bed linen was stained and damaged. We were advised that housekeeping needed to be pre-booked 24hrs in advance and ended up only asking for a service twice to essentially clean floor as we changed our linen etc ourselves due to the standard of so called cleaning. As a healthcare professional I found this shocking due to the new so called enhanced cleaning regimes stated. We would have gladly hoovered and swept the floors ourselves as this was not carried out well either. The balcony’s have been freshly painted but the amount of bird faeces that was never cleaned was unpleasant and also affected the chairs and small table on balcony. The AC constantly rattled and the lamps in room would dim and go off with power surges. When requesting new linen or items to replenish toiletries, coffee etc it would be appreciated if these were delivered correctly in a reasonable time frame. On several occasions we had to call 2-3 times to request items. The furniture in the room needs an overhaul, wobbly tables, the unit under tv wonky with drawers/ doors difficult to close. There should be some facilities to recycle basics like plastic/paper especially in light of the recent climate debates. The pool deck area as previously mentioned by a reviewer is looking very neglected. The equipment is stained, beds have been torn and stuffing protruding out. Surely someone could have removed these items as they are unsightly. Unfortunately covid restrictions have meant the bar was closed on this level. On previous visits this has always been a place to learn about hotel, area, and interact with other guests. We were advised that it may reopen next month. The pros….. The laundry service on the 9th floor was great and was always busy, there is a small seating area to wait if required. MAC 24/7 has restricted opening hours and a limited menu option presently but provided reasonable meals with all staff we encountered very pleasant and helpful. The lounge bar is open from 4pm and Pete is a great asset to this hotel along with the lovely Alicia. We were well looked after and Petes cocktails were fabulous. The valet service was always great with assistance always offered and cabs etc ordered. The trolley stops outside front of hotel ( pink line) that goes through the centre of Waikiki. Tickets need to purchased in advance online through a QR code however if you walk down the to Waikiki shopping plaza there is a area where you can get great deals on passes with discount and extended tickets much better value for money. The blue line has some fantastic scenic views. The concierge at hotel were not aware of this current deal. Overall we left very sad, disappointed and doubting we will return to this hotel unless there are substantial improvements in the future. We appreciate that there has been a worldwide pandemic but we did pay full price for this package holiday with British Airways and expected a fundamental level of customer service and standards. The comparative prices of beachfront hotels are less than £50-£100 difference now in the U.K. so there’s no value to booking a hotel a block back. Read less

Noise was a problem. If your neighbors were not sleeping in, neither were you. Poor water pressure. Slow draining water. Valet was excellent ! Restaurant was very good. Room service was quick and convenient.

The pool area is so underwhelming, the chairs stained, it has been left completely unattended. The bar area closed off with cones. The halls have a moldy smell. The lobby is sad and depressing . Our room was “ocean view” which is considered an upgrade. What you really get is a view of the parking lot and The ocean view is blocked by a large tower. Police and ambulance sirens wail relentlessly throughout the day and night. I had originally booked four nights and I ended up canceling and booking a room at the Hawaiian Village instead. Please stay away from this hotel and don’t be fooled by the staged images. Its an outright scam of a business and a total rip off. I was not impressed at all by the food at the restaurant. It was mediocre !! Read less
