The hotel is class as 5 star hotel but in Asia this won’t even make 3 star classification. The hotel it self need major update and the rooms look like it had it days. Service from the team was poor, no one help with baggage and communication with reception was poor. Only plus point is the hotel w is in great location overlooking the sea

I'm a Hyatt fan just not this one. In true Hyatt form, the location is central to major attractions (Waikiki Beach). However, with that comes the street noise of the Waikiki strip. This made it hard to sleep. The rooms need major renovation. The whole property appeared dated. It is a part of Hyatt resorts, but my stay felt more like staying at a convention center hotel rather than a beach resort which is not what guests anticipate or pay for when going on a beach vacation. I don't remember the presence of the hotel staff offering assistance or providing any memorable customer service. That speaks volumes. Most of the hotel dining was not located in the hotel but around the hotel. This property is not a dump, but for a true beach resort vacation, I would recommend staying at one of the many smaller resorts across the street where you get direct beach access with less noise. Excellent location across from the beach and in the middle of many great places to eat and just stroll. Got a great last minute rate which made it that much sweeter. Nice, clean room with all the amenities you need. (The toilet (washlet) was a nice surprise!). Hotel beautifully decorated for Christmas, including the giant gingerbread castle with historical roots in the lobby. Would love to stay here again, though I would check the noise level in the room. (A loud street performer could be heard up 10 floors through our closed balcony door, singing the same loop of songs for hours on the street corner directly below.) Read less

With many nearby hotels shut down, and the streets almost empty, it is indeed refreshing to find an oasis in this 'wilderness'. Comfortable beds and room. Wasn't able to use the fitness room as it's off limits. A block from the beach.....and close to the zoo. Great location.

The friendly staff who go above all standard expectations are what really sets the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort apart from any of the 4 other hotels I have stayed at in Waikiki. The upgraded, modern and spacious rooms are as quiet as you hope for. I will never stay anywhere else if I can help it.
