Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel

Honolulu, Oahu

Virgin rating

The hotel

Hawaii's first and only craft hotel - from the Hawaiian art that adorns the walls, curated by local artists, to the locally brewed beer and handmade dishes from fresh, local ingredients. You really will get a true taste of Waikiki staying here! There's even an art gallery come coffee shop within the hotel. Located on the bustling street that is Kalakaua Avenue, you've got shops, restaurants and bars surrounding you. Connected to a shopping centre, you can be in Macy's at the drop of a hat, that's if you can tear yourself away from the pool's swimming pool and hot tub! But of course when you think of Hawaii, you also think of the ocean, and you're only a block away from the waves of Waikiki Beach too. Back to the locally brewed beer, Maui Brewing Co. is the island's largest bar, and will keep you entertained with daily live music, a whole host of craft beers, ales and lagers, and of course some delicious handmade food to accompany them.

This is our second stay in Beachcomber. It is in the perfect central spot. Our room is always presented beautifully and spotlessly clean. The staff are always helpful and quick to respond with great knowledge of tourist type questions. We booked all of our experiences through the concierge desk in the lobby. Everything worked out great.

Beautiful hotel, bad first experience. I don’t feel like it is a good first impression to walk into your room after checking in and 1. Hear a “whoaaa ohh” as if you had just walked in on someone naked. 2. It be a pest control worker spraying your room. (That was found out later because he scurried out of there very quickly without explanation as… Read more

Hear a “whoaaa ohh” as if you had just walked in on someone naked. 2. It be a pest control worker spraying your room. (That was found out later because he scurried out of there very quickly without explanation as to what he was doing) this made us feel very awkward and uncomfortable. Upon entering the room, we noticed multiple fresh, wet white spots at the foot of the bed. Gross. We took photos that we later showed to hotel staff and the manager, Dan. It wasn’t the fact there was someone in the room when we arrived, it was the experience as a whole. Extremely uncomfortable and after we spoke with the manager, Dan his resolution was 4 breakfast coupons and a room switch. I’m still in shocked considering this a reputable and not low budget hotel on Waikiki beach front. Read less

The staff was courteous Kristiana at the front desk and Zhi the housekeeper. I'll go back again. I requested a balcony with an Oceanview. It.was.terrific. The front.desk informed me of all the amenities. The entire hotel was.clean and the entertainment in the Cafe was.exquisite. A movie was.shown on a big.screen in the pool area.
