Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel

Honolulu, Oahu

Virgin rating

The hotel

Hawaii's first and only craft hotel - from the Hawaiian art that adorns the walls, curated by local artists, to the locally brewed beer and handmade dishes from fresh, local ingredients. You really will get a true taste of Waikiki staying here! There's even an art gallery come coffee shop within the hotel. Located on the bustling street that is Kalakaua Avenue, you've got shops, restaurants and bars surrounding you. Connected to a shopping centre, you can be in Macy's at the drop of a hat, that's if you can tear yourself away from the pool's swimming pool and hot tub! But of course when you think of Hawaii, you also think of the ocean, and you're only a block away from the waves of Waikiki Beach too. Back to the locally brewed beer, Maui Brewing Co. is the island's largest bar, and will keep you entertained with daily live music, a whole host of craft beers, ales and lagers, and of course some delicious handmade food to accompany them.

Great walkable location, front desk staff member Kristina went above and beyond to get me checked in at 8:30am AND let me have a late check out of 4pm so I didn’t have to wait at the airport forever before my flight. I was very glad I got her at check in! She was wonderful and showed me how to get to the beach and a fun rooftop bar. Great hotel extremely comfortable room, quiet, and right across from the beach. Highly recommend this hotel and make sure you find Kristina at check in! She will take excellent care of you 😊 Read less

July 2024 I am very happy with my choice to stay at The Outrigger Beachcomber Waikiki resort. This is a very nice resort where the accommodations far exceed the price, making me feel very pleased with how much I spent versus what I felt it provided. The breakfast and coffee were great, and the proximity to the beach and restaurants was excellent. The room was decorated very nicely, and the bed was comfortable. One potential negative for some might be the noise, as you can hear everything from the rooms and halls around, and outside noises were very clear. However, noise doesn’t bother me, so it wasn’t an issue. Additionally, my husband left some clothing in the drawers, and when I called two days later, Florencia was incredibly helpful and sweet. She is able to mail the clothing to my home. I will be recommending this hotel to my friends and family. I will definitely stay at this brand of hotels again. Read less

Everyb staff member was so accommodating and helpful. Florenca (who runs house cleaning) was very pleasant and tried to help locate my son's charger (which turns out was in his bag the whole time). Libing was the cleaning associate on our floor and did a fabulous job, despite all the sand we broughtinto the rooms.

This hotel is amazing. It is close to the beach and shopping. The staff is very friendly. Kristina at the front desk was particularly helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Great restaurant onsite as well. Can’t wait to come back in the future.

Excellent location, newly refurbished rooms which are very comfortable, & efficient checkin & checkout (@4am!) are all factors which will result in a return there next holiday. Close to everything & activities in the heart of central Waikiki.
