Queen Kapiolani Hotel

Honolulu, Oahu

Virgin rating

The hotel

Named after the beloved wife of Hawaii’s last king, Queen Kapiolani is something of a Waikiki landmark, paying homage to Hawaii’s majestic heritage and unique culture with a modern twist. Overlooking the sandiest stretch of Waikiki Beach, guests can enjoy stunning views of Diamond Head from the balconies of their newly renovated rooms, each and every one of them furnished in breezy Island style. As a change from the beach, laze beside the pool instead, dipping in every now and again to cool off. Although there are restaurants all around you, the hotel’s own Kulana is highly recommended, not just for buffet favourites but for its sweeping panoramic views! Pre-dinner, chill awhile at the Deck Pool, sipping on your favourite cocktail – a Mai Tai perhaps?

Hotel Location, Housekeeping, Valet, Lobby Bar were great! Anyone looking to get good value for the money, consider this hotel! The only drawback was elevators which are slow. In fact one was out of order for sometime. Well this is just minor and an opportunity to look into. Otherwise great hotel to stay for leisure travelers. Thank you Kapiolani leadership team for making our stay seamless! Mahalo Read less

Decent hotel. Room is small. Did I mention small? Let's get right to it. The biggest fail at this hotel is the restaurant menu. Period. I get that they have their schtick and want to present their menu. Fine. I get that they have their schtick and want to present their menu. Fine. But hotel manager, hotel owner's, please give us a few basic menu alternatives in ADDITION to what you offer, like spaghetti, Club sandwiches, etc. So menu - meh! No room service of any kind. Big big big no no. FAIL. Other than those complete and total failures the staff was friendly. The place ok. Denny's immediately next door for breakfast and the beach literally 3/4 of a block away. Would I stay their again? Hmmm. I like having room service available. I just do. And I definitely want those few items added to the menu. So having said that maybe not, One last thing. Do not go to the zoo! It sucked. Worst zoo I ever visited. Read less

It’s a beautiful hotel that offers so many activities like hula lessons and lei making class. I loved that you can get cappuccino from the coffee bar and a restaurant downstairs. The room was a little small and not really modern but it was very clean and had what you need. Their lotions, soaps, and shampoo was so good and smelled amazing. I would stay here again. Read less

It was our first time visiting Hawaii and we couldn’t have selected a better place to stay then Queen Kapiolani Hotel!
