Let's start with the good. The staff was nice and the location is great. You can walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. There are a lot of shops and restaurants around the area that are walkable. We got a room with an ocean view on the 24th floor. The bed was comfortable. They gave us bottles of water every day. I really appreciated that. The room was supposedly in an upgraded tower. The bath tub still had mold. It look like they just painted over some things because you can see brush marks. The room is small but overall OK. Even though we were on the 24th floor, you can still hear a lot of noise from the street. Some idiot decided to pop fireworks at 1:30 AM and 3:30 AM the first couple of nights we were there. It was loud. The parking structure is a mess. You can only catch the elevator on the top 2 floors. But good luck getting onto one. It is always packed with people. If you have luggage then you should drop someone off with the luggage on the ground floor first. It would be very difficult to carry the luggage down all those stairs in the parking lot. If you park on the top floor with luggage, it would be very hard to get into the elevator because it is always full of people. If you see a relatively empty elevator, just get in and go wherever it's going then go to where you need to go. Your group may have to be split up. They need to put in at least 4 more elevators to accommodate all the people. They need to have an elevator that goes to all floors of the parking structure. They also need to expand the parking structure. If you get back to the hotel after 6 PM, you might not be able to find parking. If you come back after 9, you have to buzz the security guard to let you in. But the night security guard ends up speaking gibberish to you and doesn't buzz you in. Luckily there were other people already inside and they let us in. The pool is only open from 8 AM - 7PM. I've stayed at hotels in Waikiki where the pool was open from 7AM - 9PM. They have singers and a hula dancer to entertain you at night. But, since the pool is closed, there are hardly anyone hanging out downstairs at the pool. I feel bad for the entertainers. Read less

The location, the scenery, the rooms, the staff. Everything in this hotel was beyond amazing. This was by far the worst place I have stayed at. I went for a 2 night break with my daughters to wind down after our trip to Japan and Korea since we were flying with a layover in Honolulu. This was by far the worst place I have stayed at. I went for a 2 night break with my daughters to wind down after our trip to Japan and Korea since we were flying with a layover in Honolulu. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member so I was able to get a room on my points. I was "upgraded" to the newer renovated room on the 20th floor. I have to say if this is their renovated room, then I hate to see the regular room. It was very dated, they did a terrible paint job in the room, it seemed like they just covered over the previous paint and it was done very shabbily. The carpet was old and dated and smelled of urine, the main lobby of the hotel's carpet is even more dated and dirty, the pool is a joke and located on the main lobby floor with access to the main street. The restaurant choices were basic but pricey, luckily there is a mall attached with great restaurants so we never bothered to eat at the hotel. I'm not sure what the resort fee of almost $40/night is for since it is definitely not a resort by any standards. Service is equally poor, I asked for extra towels and they delivered water bottles and when I called again they were rude and annoyed they got it wrong! Next will not be staying here even if I am able to get the room with points! Read less

There were many nice shops and restaurants nearby. This is a large hotel, but staff were always kind and provided personable service. Our room appeared to be newly remodeled, and everything was clean and comfortable. The bedding was cool and crisp, and we all appreciated the comfy pillows. My youngest daughter had fun playing pool in the lobby, and we wished that we had also played ping pong. I would stay here again for the wonderful location and Sheraton amenities. Read less

One of the popular hotels in Waikiki built around 70 years ago and very popular among the local visitors & Japanese tourists although it has a good mix of Mainland visitors. The bellmen, front office staff & concierge service were very friendly, helpful & accommodating. Particularly, noteworthy were Lance [host at the restaurant] & server Felix, who were particularly helpful & made our group very welcome. The hotel in located across the street from the beach & the Moana Hotel. Parking was adjacent to the Hotel, making it very convenient, We stayed in the Ainahau Tower on the 22nd floor with a nice view of the beach & ocean. If you are thinking about staying here, this is an older hotel, somewhat noisy being on the main street, in need of updating & hopefully the elevator system will be updated & enlarged. Thee were only 4 small elevators for the Ainahau Tower & one or two were not working. Frequently, thee were lines of 40 or more people in line waiting to get an elevator with a 5 minute wait, This is UNCONSCIONABLE. Further this maybe a safety hazzard. Read less
