Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Downtown, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

Boasting some of Las Vegas’ finest rooms and suites after a $380 million dollar transformation, it’s easy to understand why. The accommodation is divided between four majestic towers with wonderful views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s incredible pool. Then there's the Tank, as the swimming complex is known, comes complete with a shark tank, 3-storey waterslide and 13 private cabanas for hire. There’s also an infinity pool, aptly named The Hideout, which is strictly for adults only. Other temptations include a superb spa with steam rooms, sauna, massage and beauty treatments plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre to work off those American-sized portions! Several restaurants are at your disposal, including Vic and Anthony’s, one of the country’s finest steakhouses. Alternatively, head to Chart House for sumptuous seafood, Red for Pan-Asian cuisine or Grotto for Italian fare. Come sundown, Troy Liquor Bar is the place to be with a lively atmosphere, DJs and exotic cocktails. An incredible hotel with an incredible range of amenities, look out in particular for the Hand of Faith in the lobby - a 61-pound gold nugget found in Australia in 1980 with a metal detector just six inches below ground – now that’s Lady Luck at her finest!

Great experience from checkin to eating breakfast to bar service. It was clean as well. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again in the Rush Tower. A bit loud throughout the night but not disruptive. Can’t go wrong.
Image of the Tripadvisor rating Great Valet & Bell Desk but the rest is a huge disappointment.

We stayed at the Golden Nugget for the first time (we usually stay on the strip). We were there for 5 nights and had 4 large suites. They failed to disclose the concert venue that literally vibrates the windows as well as your room until at least 1:00 a.m. Their solution - complimentary foam ear plugs on the night stand. Rude dealers in the casino - don’t ask a question or you may get yelled at! I would highly recommend a different hotel/casino. Read less

Needed to stay an extra night because we were too tired to drive back. Hotel staff got us a last minute reservation and was very accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the value was perfect. Convenient location and parking was easy and free. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and personable.

I love classic Vegas and was looking forward to staying here. Unfortunately, they don't tell you it's a 50/50 chance your room will be facing the Fremont Experience. I love classic Vegas and was looking forward to staying here. Unfortunately, they don't tell you it's a 50/50 chance your room will be facing the Fremont Experience. There are several live stages that have cover bands blasting until 2am. Not an exaggeration. I heard Guns and Roses every night until 2am. The Nugget will not mention the issue when you check in, because they know everyone would ask to move or many might cancel. Instead they throw cheap earplugs in your room that say "Enjoy a quiet nights sleep." Earplugs don't black the booming base in your body. And no way you can't hear the music with them. Front desk refused to make any accommodation saying it's part of being in "The Entertainment District." Like visitors should just know this without being told. Instead of moving me, even on a Sunday when I'm sure plenty of rooms opened up, they only offered to upgrade me for $60. You might think they would wave the fee as a make good on my two previous miserable nights. Nope, they don't wave any fees. Like the $15 dollar fee to move my check out from 11am to noon. They nickle and dime the hell out of you. No housekeeping all 4 days we were there. Garbage cans had to be left outside and then I had no garbage cans. If you sleep like a log or get lucky with a room facing the strip you might be fine, but I will never stay here. Read less

Great service all around! Love the location. Yes, the rooms can get loud with the music outside, but that's to be expected. If given the opportunity, I highly recommend upgrading to the spa suite. They are AMAZING! For a quiet night, I recommend the Carson Tower.
