Golden Nugget Las Vegas

Downtown, Las Vegas

The hotel

Boasting some of Las Vegas’ finest rooms and suites after a $380 million dollar transformation, it’s easy to understand why. The accommodation is divided between four majestic towers with wonderful views of the Las Vegas Strip, the Spring Mountains and the hotel’s incredible pool. Then there's the Tank, as the swimming complex is known, comes complete with a shark tank, 3-storey waterslide and 13 private cabanas for hire. There’s also an infinity pool, aptly named The Hideout, which is strictly for adults only. Other temptations include a superb spa with steam rooms, sauna, massage and beauty treatments plus a state-of-the-art fitness centre to work off those American-sized portions! Several restaurants are at your disposal, including Vic and Anthony’s, one of the country’s finest steakhouses. Alternatively, head to Chart House for sumptuous seafood, Red for Pan-Asian cuisine or Grotto for Italian fare. Come sundown, Troy Liquor Bar is the place to be with a lively atmosphere, DJs and exotic cocktails. An incredible hotel with an incredible range of amenities, look out in particular for the Hand of Faith in the lobby - a 61-pound gold nugget found in Australia in 1980 with a metal detector just six inches below ground – now that’s Lady Luck at her finest!

Planned a three day trip to Las Vegas for some fun! Booked a king corner suite in rush tower. Disappointed as the hotel is still not back to pre-Covid. The entire hotel is still struggling to recover from the COVID-19 lockdown. No valet, bell desk, or check in on the Rush Tower entrance. Room had no soap or shampoo upon check in. Housekeeping completely overlooked our room on first day of stay. Gambled for approximately 4 hours on first day of stay, and was only able to get two drinks from cocktail waitresses during entire time. Cocktail waitresses are near impossible to find. This is usually no big deal, as I would just go to a walk up bar and purchase a drink, but this isn’t possible, as all of the walk up bars are still closed due to COVID-19. Just so you don’t think I’m just trashing the entire resort, we had a fantastic meal in the “Claim Jumpers restaurant, and our server, Michael, was exceptional, quite possibly the best server I’ve ever encountered. He made our dining experience absolutely amazing. Read less

We stayed on the strip at 3 different hotels for our vacation and we loved every minute. Facilities were clean and set up to make guest feel safe, staff were their to happily serve doing everything they could to make things right. Upon arrival at the Golden Nugget this was not the case! Staff were scarce, facilities were dirty and grimmey. Clearly, things had only been surface level cleaned if at all. Elevator buttons and light switches were visablly dirty. Our shower was little more than a drizzle and shut off in the middle of use. The sealing was pealing. There was no plexi glass or safety precautions between gambling seats. Covid measures were lacking everywhere. The pool was at capacity making it impossible to get into unless you were willing to wait around for hours. The second day we were able to get into the pool. The water slide was closed which was the main reason for staying here & very disappointing to our kids. All this was nothing in comparison to how I was treated at the pool by the pool manager himself! All around the strip the pools are being managed with graciousness and thankfulness from staff for guest compliance. At the Golden Nugget the RULES ARE HANDLED MILITANTLY. As I was sitting in my lounge chair drinking my mojito, the manager delivered us a pizza and told me I needed to wear a mask, I replied confused since I had my mojito in hand. He proceeded to get in my face and asked me repeatedly if "we were going to have a problem?" He also asked me if he needed to go get someone else (referring to security). I don't remember his exact words but he eluded that if we had this problem again we were going to be forced to leave. This man threatened me and treated me as if I was a drunk delinquent in front of my three young children. My husband finished signing our $150 tab and then asked him to get out of my face and the mangaer walked away. As soon as he turned around I burst into tears. I have never been treated with such disrespect in my life and especially from someone in the service industry. The rest of the staff were embarrassed by his behavior and apologetic. I am a mother and elementary school teacher, mild mannered and kind in no way was I drunk or obnoxious. I have not been able to shake this incident from my mind. My husband complained to other management but they offered us no compensation. Read less

THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AMENITIES ARE TERRIBLE! We called in advance to see if we needed to make reservations at the pool and they said no, we needed reservations and didn’t get into the pool once during our stay. We received nothing for our $80 resort fee. We have decided we will not be back based on how terrible we were treated this trip. Good bye golden nugget, so many options to choose from and you will not be one of them. Step up your game or lose your customers. Read less

We stay at the nugget a few times a year: birthdays, anniversary, Christmas, always in the rush tower, always in a corner king suite. We always loved it ! We love the pool! We are residents of Las Vegas. This visit we were made to feel like we were unwanted. We did not get the room we wanted. No second bathroom, no huge closet. There was no soap, no tissue box or soap dish in the bathroom and no comforter on the bed. When we did get a comforter, it reeked of bleach. I’m allergic. My eyes were almost swollen shut for a couple of days. We had to call many times to get what what we needed. We could not get a refrigerator ( even though there was no room service, I was told we could only get one if we had medication that needed refrigeration). No coffee maker. Had to go all the way down to Starbucks. Which was super crowded. Way to social distance GN. Only plastic cups in the room. Drank my birthday toast out of a flimsy cup which collapsed and I spilled on my new dress. The bed was awful. Way past it’s prime. My husband and I both had lower back pain for days. Now. The pool. I reserved a gazebo as I’m sun sensitive. Not a cabana. Nothing was said to me in all the emails that went back and forth about a charge. We sit down on that nasty plastic couch and order drinks. After about an hour, someone handed me a piece of paper to sign. It was a bill for $135. Mind you, this was in the afternoon, and most people had already left. I was a little confused about this charge. The young man got very hostile with me because I wouldn’t sign it. More people came over and stood around me. It turned into a scene. He was so rude, and I was already so disappointed with the service , that I burst into tears. I’m a 62 year old lady. I didn’t deserve this. And on my birthday. I was so totally embarrassed that I left and went to the bathroom to cry. When I came back I sat behind the Jacuzzi. Alone. The cocktail server came over to me and apologized profusely. My husband was still chewing out the staff, and calling management to complain. I took a couple of laps around the tank, and we left. Btw. We got charged $38 for those two drinks. My birthday dinner: We were told that the restaurants were open, even the chart house, my favorite place. Nope. Only the claim jumper was open. Dinner was served by a rude person, the food was mediocre and overpriced. And we felt big pressure to leave. They were aware it was my birthday. Nothing was done. Went down to the casino. Couldn’t get a drink. Couldn’t win a thing. I’ve never seen such tight machines. Nobody was winning. No fun. Next morning at 9:30, housekeeping actually came halfway into our room, even though we were both shouting at her to leave. I speak Spanish. There was no miscommunication. We were happy to leave and go back to our own home. Didn’t go back to the casino. Didn’t go on Fremont Street. I was too depressed to do anything. We paid the regular price for our room. No valet parking. No help with our luggage. We were told the bell caps were working, but we never saw one. My husband walked a block in the heat to self park. We will NOT stay here again. You lost some good customers golden nugget. WATCH OUT.! THE CIRCA IS OPENING SOON. Read less
