The value for the price was excellent, and the hotel's location was super close to the airport. However, there were several issues. We had booked a room with one king-size bed, but they were unable to fulfill it, and we ended up with two double beds. They did provide us with a $50 credit for the inconvenience, which was very nice. When we checked in, we were welcomed by a moth in our room. While trying to catch it, we discovered a lot of dust on the lamps. The safe didn’t work, there were no channels on the TV, and Netflix didn’t work either. Planes were constantly flying over the hotel, making it difficult to sleep even with earplugs. The alarm clock next to the bed showed the wrong date. Additionally, we couldn’t believe that the water in the hotel pool was heated, despite the temperature being over 32 degrees Celsius. The pool was as hot as soup. However, there was a small shallow pool inside the main pool with slightly cooler water, where all the guests tried to squeeze in. Read less

The late kitchen was decent too! You definitely want to rent cabanas or daybeds at the Kissi Beach; the fee is applied towards your food and drink and definitely the way to do it. I had an excellent spa experience but be aware that unless you charge the treatment to your room, you don't get the resort fee benefit. I was told that it didn't matter if I charged to my room or to my card (which was also paying for the room). In fact it made a big different; this was a little shady. Read less

This was our first time in Las Vegas and, despite being concerned about not being on the main strip, we decided to stick with our original choice of this hotel. The hotel is beautiful. The rooms are an excellent size, clean and comfortable with free water left every day and toiletries replenished regularly. The bed was huge and the comfiest I've ever slept in and the bedding was changed every other day. We were on the 9th floor of the Canyon Tower overlooking the pools and a view of the strip - we could not have asked for more. All the staff were so friendly and helpful they made us feel special wherever we went. There was a good choice of restaurants to eat in or, if we were wanting a cheap snack, there was a 7/11 across the road, a CVS and a selection of takeaways and restaurants. The casino is quiet compared to those on the main strip as I expect there are no passers-by given the off-strip location. We really loved coming in from the very busy strip back to this hotel to relax, play a few cheap games of roulette (and get free drinks) before going to bed. The weather was 43 degrees and more whilst we were there so the mile-long walk was not a great idea in the blazing sun, but we usually walked back when it dropped below 40 in the evenings with no problems at all (and we are of a certain age!). The door staff can always get you a taxi, but we often used Uber as we found them much cheaper. As we booked direct with Virgin Atlantic resort fees were waived which saved us $350. We used the main pool on a couple of mornings to chill out and the free towels were a bonus. I was also very impressed that there were SIX lifeguards on duty. The Kassi Beach pool looked fab, but you need to book and pay for that I think as part of pool party type set up. We were perfectly happy with the general pool. Las Vegas is amazing! We saw as much as we could but it was nowhere near even a quarter of what's there. We also visited the Grand Canyon and did the LA/Hollywood Tour whilst we were there. I would definitely stay here again if I am lucky enough to return to Las Vegas. Read less

We're probably not the demographic for this hotel. That said, it's Vegas. The hotel itself was fine, as good as other mid-range hotels on the strip. But note, this is not on the strip, and in Vegas heat, it's not walkable ( a mile in 104 degrees is a lot for most everyone). So if you are looking to be in the heart of things, this isn't the place… Read more

But note, this is not on the strip, and in Vegas heat, it's not walkable ( a mile in 104 degrees is a lot for most everyone). So if you are looking to be in the heart of things, this isn't the place for you. Don't read this as the location being quiet, as it isn't. When we arrived, we were not allowed to pull into either of the entrances. Our driver had to let us off quite a ways away for us to walk up dragging multiple heavy suitcases. No explanation and no apology, even a "sorry for the inconvenience." Casino tables were less expensive than on the strip, with friendly dealers. Food was....ok, with the best options at the Mexican restaurant. Most of the pool area was closed while we were there, but what we saw looked nice for a manmade "beach." Fitness center was in the tower we didn't stay in (that's a longgggg walk) and it was less than freshly cleaned. Major disappointment was that we did not receive service for two of our five nights, despite leaving the "service room" light on. This wouldn't have been quite as big of an issue if the sheets were not just flat sets (no fitted sheet = sheets go askew unless you sleep motionless) and we were given more than one towel apiece. Very much enjoyed our stay at the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas. It’s a little bit off the strip but that’s what we were looking for. Too much hustle and bustle on the strip for us. We were in Vegas for a friend’s daughter’s wedding. Upon arriving we elected to upgrade to a suite for a very nominal charge ($45). So well worth it. The room was very comfortable and spacious. We especially enjoyed the Kassi Beach House and Taco Tuesdays at Casa Calavera. Dinner at Kassi was so enjoyable and our server, Emma was outstanding. Every single staff member we encountered was hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The resort was everything you would expect and deserves the full 5 stars. If I’m ever back in Las Vegas, this is where I’m staying. Read less
