Flamingo

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of eight restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, five distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

The room was very dirty. Dirt and crud along the wall. Bathroom was disguising and dirty. Sink would not drain. Walls in bathroom were gross. Probably won’t ever stay there again. It’s more of a party hotel.

Check in was not great. I tried to check in with a person and was told to use the automated check in. I already knew I would need to speak to a person. The automated check in didn't work and told me to talk to a clerk. I booked a pet friendly room on Expedia. When I checked in I was told there where several additional unexpected fees including an extra fee for my dog to stay the night, a pet deposit, a resort fee, and $18 for parking. Non of this was shown on Expedia when I booked the room. My room was dirty especially the wood floor which turned my white socks brown. The room didn't have a refrigerator. I called the front desk and asked for one since I am diabetic and need a refrigerator to keep my insulin cool. I was told I could get an ice bucket.. I called house keeping and through them spoke to a manager and got a refrigerator. The refrigerator they brought me was broken and my insulin was warm by the morning. This was the worst stay on our trip. Never again will I stay at the flamingo. Read less

When I reached at the counter, the lady was still helping some one else over the call and then she asked me to Express Check-in my own using their kisok. I was doing that then I'd some questions, I asked they didn't really respond. Then their was a super misbehaving man who have his hair colored and beared, asked me to go back in the que again and they started helping other ppl. They treated their guests like a trash. I want to. Complain specifically against this man staff who had blonde colored hair and beard. Read less

First, The music across the road makes my room feel like it’s shaking and I’m In a concert. I was told, by flamingo, it will continue until 4am and that it’s normal at the flamingo now. Essentially get used to it. Also, we had a maintenance guy banging on my door at 11pm to fix my radio… because flamingo got a request, they tried saying I made, which I didn’t, to fix it. So at 11pm at night I had a stranger trying to fix a radio in my room, while I stood there in my underwear and my wife hid under the covers because she was naked. I Was told by flamingo, this is what maintenance does because they are a 24 hour department. This is extremely inappropriate to be in an occupied registered guest room at 11pm trying to fix a radio. The room darkening Blinds that shield you from the lights of the strip were broken as well. So sleeping here is impossible. There is some kind of “access hatch” in our bathroom that does nothing but rattle and hum the entire time. Nonstop. Like a Diesel engine running all night. Morning. And day. In your bedroom. There is some kind of splatter all over the bed headboard. Same with the bathroom mirror. Also good luck taking a shower safely because once you step foot out of the door, the floor is covered in water because the water leaks out the door/seams. The lights in the bathroom flicker on and off as well. Spend your money somewhere else. Flamingo Management is giving excuses and unapologetic meaningless apologies in place of not properly maintaining their building or keeping relationships with their costumers, at the very least, fair for both sides considering things. Like they know they are about to be sold and don’t care they are on their way out. No late room service here anymore, that I could find at least. No coffee pots in the room. No working radios in the room. No alarm clocks. No microwaves. The wifi kicks you off every 5-20 min. Annoying. Rooms did have a small dorm fridge though, so that was nice. And for whatever reason house keeping left a dirty pillow case on our bed. Also they do not offer healthcare worker discounts anymore. Read less
