The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

We were in town for a friend’s 40th birthday this past weekend and stayed at the Flamingo. I booked the “FAB KING ROOM” which was not FAB at all. So far from… apparently the FAB room is not part of the more newly renovated rooms located within the hotel. Which would have been fine except of all the issues we had with our room. First off, our room was missing furniture, a lot of it. We had a huge blank space in our room, no tables, couch, chairs, anywhere to sit except the bed. Also, it looked like furniture that used to be there had been dragged out of the room literally across the ceiling. There were huge black scrape marks on the ceiling. Not to mention the ceiling also looked like it has been patched up from water damage. Upon arriving into our room, I tried to calling the front desk to see if we could change rooms. After being put on hold and disconnected or hung up on three times. I gave up, we had to get to a dinner. We also had a lot of issues with the water. When you ran the water at the sink, it smelled so bad like sewage or septic. The shower was freezing cold. We had to let the water run for about 30 minutes before it got warm. We also called the front desk about this issue and they did send someone up to fix it. I also asked for a couple chairs since we had none in our room.. those never did arrive. We were just so disappointed with our room, 100% not worth the money we paid. Read less

When checking out staff were insistent we just drop cards off despite me advising i wished to complain, I was directed to a long que of people which i did not have time to wait in as i had to get to airport for my flight . I have emailed with my complaint and concerns and requesting a refund of resort fees but as yet have had no correspondence. We certainly did not get what we booked , hot water is a basic necessity , housekeeping is standard service in hotels and at no point were we informed that there would be no access to the pool , we only discovered this when we had a walk around the grounds on arrival. If i could give zero stars i would Read less

The best thing to be said about the Flamingo is its central location. I was there for 3 nights—2 rooms. On 10/7 our room was not cleaned or linens changed. I called guest relations and then housekeeping—they said they would clean-they did-and would send up an engineer to check on the hot water—they didn’t. And worst of all is the resort fee of $50 per night per room. There is no pool—an exercise room I don’t use—and wi-fi that was spotty at best. I was quoted a price and then the resort fee was added on. Sounds like a rip-off to me. I have stayed at the Flamingo in the past but would have to reconsider next time. Read less

We had always wanted to give this classic Vegas location a try, though we don't think we will be returning. The room definitely felt dated with several issues (stains on the carpet, broken sink handle, broken outlet on the end table, holes in the pillowcases). Wayfinding in this resort was especially difficult - we have stayed in several Las Vegas Strip resorts and this one felt challenging to navigate. We tried the "speakeasy" (is it a true speakeasy if there are multiple advertisements posted everywhere?) and were shocked to see Old Fashioned cocktails from $26 to $35 - we don't mind paying a premium for a Vegas craft cocktail, but these certainly did not deliver and neither did the service. To cap off our stay, we were double charged for parking - the daily rate showed up on our bill, only to force us to pay again when we left the parking structure when the room key didn't work (we had to call the resort to have the charge reversed). Awful experience and we’ve stayed at this resort a handful of times. Staff was extremely rude and belittling when concerns were brought up to them. Hotel host offered to comp us resort fees and a nights stay and advised us to come back on the day of check out to see what else could be done. Person working the desk on the day of check out did not help at all and it took almost an hour to get the said “no help”. In the end we never were given the comped room and resort fees. Our room flooded, shower pressure was so awful that I thought it was going to sand blast my nipples off. I would not let my elderly mother with thin skin even attempt to shower. We went to front desk who sent maintenance. He basically laughed at us for our complaints about the pressure. Sink in bathroom also wasn’t draining. He plunged the sink and fixed the shower so that the pressure was adjustable but left the soaking wet towels, from the flood bathroom, all over the room and left brown sludge on surfaces from the plunging he did. Nasty! Then later on we only got cold water from the shower and extremely hot water out of both the cold and hot valves of the bathroom sink. Beds sunk towards edge closest to night stand, pillows hard. The smell of pot and cigarette smoke was coming through the air vents every night. Room likely had mold as we coughed the entire time when in the room. When we asked for a different room we again were laughed at. And we spent 8 miserable days at this resort. We’ve called multiple times to talk to someone about all of this and staff continue to be rude and have gone off on us. Let’s not mention the fact that this casino by far was the dirtiest. Do better, Flamingo. I will make sure NOT to recommend your hotel and casino based strictly on the lack of professionalism and respect given to us. Read less
