Flamingo

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of eight restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, five distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Our room was nice, but we had one of there premium suits! But the customer service is terrible! I arrived a day late due to a canceled flight something out of my control, I called them as soon as I got the notification that my flight cancelled and let them talk to the airline directly, they noted my account, but when I got there and checked in I was still charged for a night I wasn't there and they wouldn't do anything to try and help the situation, they tried saying I was a no show until they seen the notes that my flight was cancelled due to weather, but they still wouldn't return my money or I even said I'll stay and extra day to get my night back and they wouldn't allow that either! They kelp my money, then they was extremely rude to me and my husband after we asked if I could get my money back or stay another night! The hotel manager isn't any better the entire time of our stay (6days) all we heard was people complaining about the customer service! We will not be staying anymore! The rooms nice, but we would like nice rooms with great customer service as well and it's plenty of other hotels to choose from! Flamingos suck! If you never need guests services for anything then I guess they are ok... But if you depend on guest services a lot or just simply asking for directions or help with something DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! They are flat out rude once you check in. Read less

Dirty rooms & hallways. Bathroom door didn't close, called front desk & they said engineers will be right up. They came the following day. Hotel staff constantly gave us incorrect information. Staff took over an hour to bring up our bags.

First, even being the oldest standing hotel on the strip, our room was nicely remodeled, with hints of hot pink, a large stand up shower, frosted glass bathroom (with a TV in the mirror) and motorized window treatments! I upgraded to a "strip view" and being on the 20th floor was wonderful, with a nice two person couch to sit and people watch from the comfort of your room. The included mini fridge and enclosed closet was a nice touch. Both sides of the bed offered large flat space, enough for a work space and storage. The FREE Flamingo exit next to their buffet was another wonderful addition, we were able to catch the morning feeding of the pelicans and learned so much about the hotel and the animals in the habitat. The keeper leading the feeding was welcome to questions and showed great affection to the animals in her care. This location almost made it not necessary for a monorail pass or getting a ride, we mostly walked to everything; all the way to the MGM/New York New York to the fashion show mall. Loved the phone message from the front desk checking in and asking about our stay, as well as alerting us to express checkout options the night before we left. We did park in the parking garage, which is charged to the rooms account, and it was easy to leave and place our room cards into the provided bin to be recycled at the parking garages exit. If you have a large or lifted truck or SUV, be careful when driving in the garage, the spaces are on the smaller side and the roof seems to be low and steep. We easily found a space due to the lights above each bay with a red or green light (White lights represent "special" parking). Ive stayed at the Imperial Place (may it rest in peace) and Harrahs before and my partner and I agreed Flamingo is where we'd stay next time. Oh yeah, and the interaction we did have with staff was pleasant, even hello and have a good day when they were traveling in the elevator with you. Read less

The bedroom area also had a 55" tv ,two night tables and a dresser with a built in refrigerator. The only thing missing was a coffee maker. This room was very clean and housekeeping was very good ,we left a note for extra towels and they left them each day after that. The Flamingo was looking very tired and now looks fantastic. We did not notice the smoke smell others have complained about, the hotel smelled clean. Also never noticed the loud noise others mentioned. When booking the Flamingo just remember that its Vegas and there will be loud people and smoking and drinking, Just have a good time and enjoy eveything thst the Flamingo has to offer. Read less

Upon check in we received an upgraded room the staff was very friendly. My husband and I treated ourselves to the spa which is always a great experience. The hotel and our room both were very clean. Flamingo is probably our favorite hotel in Vegas.
