Flamingo

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of eight restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, five distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

We had a great time and the Flamingo was super convenient, had a great casino, an amazing steakhouse, and access to lots of cool shops and was conveniently located on the strip. We had a great time and the Flamingo was super convenient, had a great casino, an amazing steakhouse, and access to lots of cool shops and was conveniently located on the strip. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready, so one of the front desk staff upgraded us to a room with a view so we wouldn't have to wait. The room had everything we needed, was really clean and had a good view. Check in was via kiosks, which was kind of cool. Check out was SUPER easy. Would recommend! Read less

1) Check in kiosks don’t work and there’s not enough employees to help the volume of people having problems. 2) Bathroom in our room was dirty and covered in someone’s hair. We ask to have it cleaned and it took over 24 hours for someone to come. After they “cleaned” there was still hair on the tile. 3) Pool manager (I think his name was… Read more

We ask to have it cleaned and it took over 24 hours for someone to come. After they “cleaned” there was still hair on the tile. 3) Pool manager (I think his name was something like Velo) was rude and combative. We paid a lot of money to rent a daybed and spent over $500 in food and drinks. His attitude was uncalled for when we and the group next to us simply asked for the area we rented to be kept clear of others not in our group. We self-policed this all day while the security guy flirted with female guests next to us for over an hour. Manager was so rude that our server was embarrassed and apologized for his behavior. This person should consider a career that is not in hospitality. It’s pretty bad when the person who’s supposed to be there to help ends up escalating the situation further instead of fixing the problem. 4) Pool water was so cold you couldn’t even swim in it. Staff claimed nobody who worked there knew how to turn the heater back on. Our group was not advised of this issue by staff when we booked the daybed the previous day. 5) The so-called renovated room was dingy. There were cracks and peels in the ceiling like maybe water damage. Even the carpet in the hallways were dirty, worn out and rippled. 8) We asking for adjoining rooms with our friends when we booked months ahead of time. We also paid more for a renovated room with a view of the strip. We received none of these things. The employee we spoke to about it in the lobby basically said it was too bad and you get whatever you get and gave us a stupid analogy about how the food you get at Burger King doesn’t look like the picture. 6) Attitude of hotel staff in general was poor and it was obvious they did not feel compelled to provide good service or even try. 7) I ask for a manager to call me and discuss these issues and have not received a call back. The Flamingo obviously doesn’t give a rip about it’s guests or providing good hospitality. We will not be back and most certainly will not recommend this place to anyone else. Read less

I arrived an hour early, was required to pay for an extra half-day for "early check-in" even though the room was ready. The pool area was rough, with almost all chairs were broken. Not a great experience.

Nothing there was too expensive compared to some of the other hotels either so its great for people that are trying to save some money. Read less
