Flamingo

Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of eight restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, five distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Great location! Can walk to a lot of places from here. Bird bar was a lot of fun... very entertaining and great drink specials. Would recommend the Flamingo, a lot of fun!! Did not have any issues while staying here.

20 year old decor, not painted or updated in forever. The room looked like a bomb went off in it. The wall light was broken, shower door would not stay closed. Toilet paper holder pulling out of wall. Bed ruffles had holes in it and the couch looked like it was from 1980

I recently stayed at the Flamingo as part of the 2020 Sin City Classic sports tournament, which was attended by 8,000 participants. Upon arriving, I saw no where to park my rental while checking in, so I sought out parking at a nearby convenience store and walked quite a ways to the lobby. During my flight I was prompted to check in electronically via e-mail, which I did, but then at the kiosk, my check in was rejected, forcing me to wait in line. Then, when I went to add my roommate's name to the room, the front desk informed me a "Joe Blow" was already listed. Clearly that was a fake name, which I did not enter upon making the reservation. When I asked them to remove the name, they told me they couldn't because it was the list given them by the Sin City Classic Hospitality director. In checking with the Sin City Classic Hospitality Director, he indicated he did not enter anything. I told them to just charge "Joe Blow's" credit card or take the name off. They insisted they could not. Next, parking came free with the room block, however, the front desk did not program my room keys as such, forcing me to walk back and forth to the garage (which is quite a ways, mind you) several times. I finally had to insist a front desk employee walked back with me to demonstrate. She clearly had no idea what she was doing. Finally, the parking garage administrators got involved to remedy it. Next, I reported that my room door wasn't shutting properly, creating a security problem. I also reported a desk lamp malfunctioning. Both of these were to be taken care of while I was gone. This didn't happen. Housekeeping was also supposed to service my room while I was gone, which they did not. I reported all this yet again. The lamp was never fixed, nor was the door, but they told me I was going to have to move rooms and I had already gotten settled, so I just taped a Post-It to the door, reminding those going in and out to push/pull the door all the way shut. When housekeeping finally did service my room, they did not replace the empty Kleenex holder, nor did they replace the towels. The body wash dispenser was also empty. I had to leave Post-Its throughout the room telling them how to do their job. Most of the time the front desk staff and concierge staff came across very condescending, acting like I was asking stupid questions vs. kindly offering to help. I did have good luck with room service and blackjack dealers, so it wasn't a total loss. Read less

We have stayed at Flamingo before, and choose to stay there again. The rooms are large, and the location is great. We stayed in a Flamingo Premium Room. It was in the flamingo tower, which is through the casino. We have also stayed in a go room which is in the tower closer to the lobby. They are both very nice. The flamingo premium room did not have an in room coffee maker, but it did have a mini fridge. I do not think these rooms were remodeled as recently as the go rooms. There are plenty of elevators, so the wait is never very long for one. We like the casino and there are plenty of new machines. One thing they lack is good restaurants. They have a food court, it is very small, without many options. The food court at Harrah’s is really good, and a pretty short walk. There are plenty of other places to to eat around, so this is not a problem for us. If you want lots of food options on site, this is probably not the hotel for you. We had housekeeping daily, and never any problems. We will chose to stay here again on our next Vegas trip. Read less
