Excalibur

The Strip, Las Vegas

Virgin rating

The hotel

This good value on-strip casino hotel boasts an enormous pool area and is home to the must-see Tournament of Kings dinner show, complete with knights on horseback, jousting, pyrotechnics and Merlin himself. Las Vegas’s take on old England, the Excalibur would surprise the Knights of the Round Table. But that’s where it leaves England behind and takes on the world. There’s the all-American casino (with 100,000 sq ft of gaming), games arcade, and branch of Johnny Rockets’ famous hamburger chain. There’s Italy, Mexico and Asia (and a bit more America) in its casual restaurants and food court. And there’s Australia in its ‘Thunder from Down Under’ adult show and Australian Bee Gees tribute concert.

MGM Rewards staff do not honour confirmed reservation compts. You cannot trust them and they provide zero service.

Regarding rooms, the tower with pool views is much nicer, the hallways and rooms don’t smell like cigarettes and the rooms are slightly nicer. If you stay in the tower with city views it will smell like cigarettes, twice I was given a room in that tower and as I walked in both rooms were dirty during different stays. The front desk was amazing dealing with this and gave a new clean room. Read less

The hotel and staff are really nice. Every amenity on site. Very enjoyable. I will return and suggest staying here but bring lots of money. Vegas is very expensive.

If you are looking for a hotel for your family I would move onto a different hotel. We found this hotel to be very dated. The room was very dusty. Their was no refrigerator in the room although we were told the last day we were their by another guest you could pay $25 a day for a refrigerator in your room. We called before booking asking if the pools were going to be open as the reason we picked this hotel was for the little waterslides they had in the pool although when we got to the hotel the pool with the slides were closed as hey do not open that pool until May/June. My kids were told we could not throw a ball in the pool. Leaving them with nothing to do at the pool. My children are 10 and 12 years old. We were told to move along several times when stopping in the hotel if near a casino or outside a bar not even close to entrance. Even though we were not gambling. This hotel is not family friendly. The resort fees are high and you have to pay them when you check out.....another $300. If you rent a car you have to pay $18/$23 a day for parking on top of all the extra fees. When we asked if we could go to another pool owned by mgm that had a lazy river so kids would have something to do we were told no. I did not find that the hotel wanted to work with you. What we did like about the hotel was that the tournament of the kings had awesome food and great entertainment. We found ourselves at Luxor alot or checking out other resorts. I even looked to see if I could move to another hotel for part of the stay but prices were high and not a lot available. I would not stay at Excalibur again. Read less
