The hotel

This historic hotel was built by Vegas legend, Bugsy Siegel back in 1946 and it's seen countless celebrities walk through its doors in the last 60 years, as well as being the backdrop for the original Ocean's Eleven film and Viva Las Vegas. It has an amazing location right in the middle of The Strip and near the fantastic Caesars Forum Shops, with award-winning Flamingo Go Rooms. The hotel is great for kids with its amazing Beach Club Pool. The GO Pool offers a 21+ lively pool party experience with its amazing 15-acre tropical pool paradise, which has whirlpools and four different swimming pools nestled among the lush, green foliage. Then there's the Wildlife Habitat, where the resort's eponymous flamingos hang out with turtles, swans and ducks. There's a choice of seven restaurants including Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville and Margaritaville Casino, featuring the 5 O’Clock Somewhere Bar. Margaritaville is as much a state of mind as it is a place. The multi-level Caribbean-themed entertainment venue offers two outdoor patios overlooking the Las Vegas Strip, a nautical-themed restaurant, four distinctive bars, live entertainment nightly (both indoors and outdoors) and a 3,000-sq ft retail store. You can also eat outside by the pool or even enjoy a spot of gambling in the pool casino located at the GO Pool! At the Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo, guests feel the energy of the Las Vegas strip while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the islands.

Hit with 51 dollar a day resort fee in addition to 60 dollars in taxes. 136 dollar, 2 nights was actually 320 dollars. Wallpaper falling off walls. Mold and broken tiles everywhere. This place is now officially a dump. I do not recommend anybody stay here.

I never write bad reviews. But this. Is. Unbelievable. I'm writing this review from a parking lot, sleeping in my truck, because they didn't have a room with two beds... Which I paid for. Guys. I never write bad reviews. But this. Is. Unbelievable. I'm writing this review from a parking lot, sleeping in my truck, because they didn't have a room with two beds... Which I paid for. Guys. I'm SLEEPING IN MY EFFIN TRUCK. On a birthday weekend I organized for my sister! Because they didn't have the room they sold me! I've worked in the tourism industry for the last 13 years, with brands like Fairmont and Marriott. This hotel would probably be shut down in other countries for agressive anti-consumer tactics, lack of transparence with advertising approaches and overall underwhelming consideration for tourists and consumers. 1) THE RESERVATION ISN'T LOCKED WHEN YOU BOOK - I booked a two bedroom room. I needed TWO beds. We got ONE bed. Here's how the conversation went : - I'm sorry, I booked a two bed bedroom. There is only one bed. - Oh yes. There are no more two bed bedrooms. - But I reserved it online. Here's the booking and the payment. You confirmed it. - Oh yes. But no. We gave all the two bed bedrooms already. - Hm. Ma'm, when you order an item on Amazon, and the wrong item is shipped to you, what do you do? - Yes, I understand. - Answer. What do you do? - I ask for the right item or a refund. - There. That's what I'm calmly doing. - Not possible. It's hotel policy. We are out of two bed bedrooms. - You've got to be kidding. When you lock a reservation, pay for it, confirm it, and show up on time, there is nowhere on this planet where it would justified to tell a client: « Sorry, this is what you get for tonight. There are no more two bed bedrooms. » 2) HIDDEN FEES AND ANTI-CONSUMER TACTICS I've seen lawyers tear down hotels like this for their obscure marketing tactics that go against consumer protection. You cannot hide fees or advertise services that you cannot deliver. Not in Canada. Not in Europe. Not anywhere in civilized countries. The Flamingo reels in consumers with low price points on several booking platforms. Then, they signal you that you will have to pay for X, Y and Z, like resort fees, WiFi, Spa, etc. Sure, we're in Vegas, I expected all of this. But the Spa is in fact a poorly maintain gym. The wifi is unusable and slow. And the resort fees are to pay for what exactly? This resort is falling apart. It's a big bait. With a dozen floors and fancy pools. That's what it is. And it needs to be fixed. Which brings me to #3. 3) VERY POOR MAINTENANCE AND LOW STANDARDS Staff is probably overwhelmed on a daily basis with complaints from all over the world. They've obviously reached a point where they do not care anymore. They're not to blame: they're just passing down the management's philosophy to the guests. That's what the lady at the counter told me anyways. The management doesn't give a single damn about you. - The elevators were dented. - The walls are dented. - There were pizza flyers everywhere on the 7th floor. - The shower in our room has no curtain. Water in the floor. - There is an omnipresent smell of mold and cigarette in the room. - The soaps and shampoo in the shower are cheaply wrapped in plastic and thrown on a shelve. - There are hidden fees everywhere for nothing in return (I heard upgrades weren't really upgrades). Where are the Flamingo's standards? Oh I know : they're Flamin-Gone. My sister is sleeping by herself in the room I booked for us. I'm sleeping in the truck near the ferris wheel. It's the most expensive night-in-a-truck that I've experienced. I NEVER complain. Like, never. Canadians never complain in general, except a few Karens here and there. While this is unacceptable, it is interesting. There are so many legal flaws and aggressions towards the consumer that my legal team will see what kind of protocols Nevada has that allows such stupid and inconsiderate ways of dealing with tourists. For now, I'm tucked in a sleeping bag under a beautiful ferris wheel, and I'm wishing you guys good night. x Read less

We were grateful the individual at checkin was able to reserve us another room after booking.com cancelled our reservation unknowingly. Thank you. What we were surprised about was the ridiculous security procedure to enter the pool. I have never been to a resort pool where the type of water bottle was regulated and you were not allowed to bring in even a protein bar and a piece of fruit. Give me a break. I was told the water bottle rule was in place because of a previous incident which was not allowed to be shared apparently. But there was no explanation for the snack rule. There are all types of fees paid, to include a “resort fee”. Is the Flamingo really going to loose that much revenue if visitors are allowed to bring in a snack and water? I highly doubt it. I do know the Flamingo will loose revenue when I choose to book a room at another resort, which I plan on doing, the next time I go to Las Vegas. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. I don't normally write reviews, but it has been a week since my stay at the Flamingo and I am still bothered by my experience, so I feel it necessary to share this information with anyone thinking of staying here. The room was a big disappointment, and, if it had not been paid for by my employer to attend a conference, I would have demanded my money back and gone to another hotel. I wish I could say that the repeated cold showers in the morning were my biggest complaint, but, unfortunately, I can't. The room was EXTREMELY outdated and in need of attention. When I checked in, there were still large clumps of tape stuck to the walls where previous occupants must have attached streamers or balloons to the walls. I removed that. In the corner of the room was a large, pink wad of chewing gum stuck in the corner (I did NOT remove that). Dirty clumps of tissue paper were packed into gaps of the window moldings (also something I did not remove) and the furniture in the room was chipped, dirty and in need of replacement. The bathtub floor had what appeared to be years of dirt and grime ground into it. I trust that the cleaning staff performs a cursory cleaning of the tub, but the filthy appearance is there. I will try to offer positive feedback as well, so.... I stayed in a King room on the 28th floor overlooking the strip. The view was fantastic, although the outside of the windows were fairly dirty (I understand the challenges of keeping the exterior of the building clean at such towering heights. If the room was clean and updated, the dirty windows on the outside would not have bothered me at all). I have no complaints about the bed. It was comfortable and the bedding was clean. Towels were also clean. (Dear Flamingo Hotel: when the highlights of a hotel room that costs $170 a night are "the towels were clean"- there is need for improvement) Read less
Image of the Tripadvisor rating 1 bed instead of 2 beds

Front desk clerk confirmed that we had two queen beds, but we ended up with 1 king bed. Line up to check in took over an hour so it was impossible to go back to the front desk to inquire what happened. Otherwise the room was fairly decent. Very convenient location.
