Harrah's Hotel and Casino

The Strip, Las Vegas

The hotel

Harrah’s is the ultimate day and night party destination. Its nightclub, Carnaval Court, is an open-air street party along The Strip, with live bands, DJs and flair bartenders keeping you entertained under the sun and stars. If you need a change of scene, Numb serves up frozen cocktails while The Piano Bar serves up duelling pianos and karaoke. True to its location, Harrah’s also delivers an award-winning Elvis act, The Righteous Brothers: Bill Medley & Bucky Heard and longtime Vegas magician Mac King. And, alongside fine dining and casual eats, it brings you Fulton Street Food Hall, a 24-hour food court with a difference – all about quality food created by expert chefs, from sushi to create-your-own pizza, frozen yoghurt, and ‘comfort food’ stations.

Although we generally stay at Caesars Palace, we opted for the newly renovated Harrah's to receive a comp room. We paid for an upgrade to a VP suite and were overwhelmed at how new, luxurious and large the suite was. The Harrah's staff are very friendly and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Plus, the casino table limits are much lower than Caesars.

Coming to Harrah’s after a lengthy flight from New York, an expeditious check-in would have been welcome. No such luck. Snaking lines, an overwhelmed front desk, and no help. Coming to Harrah’s after a lengthy flight from New York, an expeditious check-in would have been welcome. No such luck. Snaking lines, an overwhelmed front desk, and no help. Fortunately, I spotted a Harrah’s employee, and insisted on finding a way to avoid the line when I was checking in as part of a pre paid and pre booked tour of American Desert National Parks. It turns out there are a very few kiosks which can be accessed if you have a confirmation number, which our Trafalgar tour did notice did not include. Much kerfuffle later, the appearance (by luck) of a Trafalgar representative, multiple trips and walkie talkie talks by the Harrah’s rep, and we finally made it. The bellman who eventually brought our bags to our room said his department was the only one with efficient systems to function at the hotel. This is a hotel to be avoided at all costs until management figures out a way of efficiently welcoming their customers, whom they seem more anxious to charge fees to for arriving a bit early. I’m here on a group tour and did not book this hotel personally. I would never elect to come here on my own for business or pleasure. Read less

Harrah's is a great location for families and others that want to see the strip without having to walk too far. Price is right. Great clean rooms! We have stayed at Harrah's for the last ten years and look forward to staying there again.

My biggest complaint is that my 6 year old found pills on the floor near the bed!! Our room was very dirty. We were so tired by the time we got to town we just went to sleep. In the morning we noticed the tables hadn’t been wiped down from the people before us, food and drink stains on the end table. Shower had soap and shaving gel from previous… Read more

There was weird red gunk on the bathroom light switch, I don’t want to know! Paying for parking is pretty lame, we were in Reno the week before and valet was free. Read less

Entering and exiting this property by car is a disaster. You are forced to wind all over and it's very easy to make a wrong turn. In addition, all guests at Caesars property's should pressure them to eliminate the outrageously high resort fees.
